"Fake" Swords, etc for P&P Party

I attended one of the Pirate and Princess Parties in March, but didn't think anything of costumes. Now that we are going again, we have decided to dress as pirates. Are fake swords or pistols allowed as part of your costume?

Disney regulations state "your costume should not contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon." If you want to carry pistols, they probably must have the big safety orange coloring...

I was wondering this too. We sell foam swords at work and I was wondering if they'd be ok. Also, my father is going as Captain Hook, does anyone know if a plastic hook would be ok?
