I have a question for anyone who may be familiar with Niagara Falls, ON.

I am planning a little getaway for myself and a group of friends to, most likely, Niagara Falls (CAN). Does anyone know which hotels are walking distance to the casino? Isn't there a Marriott right across the street? If so, which Marriott is it (I think there are three).

Now that I think about it, when we were there last year, they were building a second casino. Is that done?

Thanks guys!

I don't remember which hotel is nearest the casino but I do know that the Sheraton Falls View Inn & the Fallsview Marriott (was that the name of it??) both have free shuttles you can take to & from the casino.

We stayed at the Marriott nearly 2 years ago (when I was pregnant) & it was a beautiful hotel. My husband surprised my mom & my aunt & I for Mother's Day & booked 2 gorgeous suites with fireplace, overlooking the falls.

Unfortunately, a fire broke out in a room in the floor above us & we had to evacuate in the middle of the night. I was 6 months pregnant & had to run down 42 flights of stairs, while smelling smoke, with a very hysterical 5 y/o son. (We were on the 21st floor & there were 10 steps per landing, 20 per floor.) We got 50% off our stay due to the scare we had. The hotel claims there was no fire  , but we did hear from the fire dept that the fire was contained to one room. (Thank God.)

That's the last time I stay past the 2nd floor in any hotel! Oh boy...I did answer your question, didn't I? :o

If you post this on the Canadian Visitors Board, Bichon Barb, you're sure to get lots of helpful information. :)

Great idea Snowwark. I didn't think of that. Thanks.

Mishetta, what a fiasco  . How scary having that wake you up in the middle of the night! Last time DH and I went, we stayed at the Hyatt (I think) which also had a shuttle. Since the girls and I will be there for two nights, I thought it would be nice and if we just walk back and forth whenever we wanted. We'll figure something out.

Thanks again.

My DH and I enjoy staying at Skyline Inn it's located right behind Casino. It has Perkins right there. Also owned by Sherton who also owns Brock and Sherton. You may want to check out www.DiscoverNiagara.com for other hotels and special deals.

There is a Quality Inn and a Comfort Inn across the street from the current casino. We've stayed there several times and have really enjoyed it!

Barb, I am sure they will have more info over on the Canadian Board, but I believe that the Courtyard Marriott is a block or two from the casino. The Sheraton on the Falls is connected to the casino, i think or right next to it. If you look at this one, be sure to look at Sheraton on the Falls, not Sheraton Fallsview which is further away.

We were there last year, too and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed at the Marriott Fallsview and loved it! What a great view of the falls!

A trip with friends sounds like great fun! Have a wonderful time.
