Does anyone know if DCL is considering more availability for Flounders? For example 2-4 hours per day, (instead of 3 to 4 visits per child for a 7 day?)

alexcturner,

I have not heard of them extending the time slots, however I know that sometimes they have openings beyond what you requested and will allow your child to stay longer. When I go in a month or so I will ask though:)

where have you heard that they limit the amount of times for Flounders????Is this a new restriction?....On our most recent cruises....10/02 7-day, and 1/03 3-day, we had DS in Flounders every eve 6-11

I know when I went on the 4 day they said you could put down three slots and anything else would be assigned the day of if anything was open. I never really used it so I couldn't say if they actually do call and let you know...my daughter loved eating dinner there with us, the servers really catered to the kids and I enjoyed having dinner with her and seeing hte shows with her...of course she was 2 1/2 then so she really was able to enjoy the shows...

Keep in mind that Flounders has the initial 3 reservation limit for a reason. I think the main reason is for you and your child to see if it will work. We went with another couple who signed up three spots and the first day their DD cried and they were paged after 1.5hrs. (in the middle of Palos) and was offered Palos room service!

After that interruption, they decided not to continue using flounders.

I sign up for the first slots and for the minimal time I needed. IT seems easy to extend the time. The staff are easy to work with and can be very flexible.:bounce:

Thank you so much for this information! This is the reason we didn't go to Palo on our cruise-we weren't sure how the kids would react to the nursery, and didn't want to have to leave our dinner if we were paged. Now we can try Palo on our next cruise!
