We have been coming to Disney since the late 70's and consider ourselves a Disney Family. Disney has a way to impress us every year we come back. Though the economic woes reached the land of the Mouse, it was still Magical as ever. This year we had the pleasure of visiting a new addition to Disney. Cat Cora and Disney have brought us Kouzzina at the Boardwalk Resort. Kouzzina has now replaced Spoodles. Spoodles was one of our favorite places at the Boardwalk. It would take a great deal to impress us both in the menu and service. The decor has not really changed. A few pictures of Cat Cora's Greek heritage lines the lobby and restaurant. The kitchen is fully open to the restaurant. But overall not much of a difference. This was possibly meant to be as not to shock to Disney foodies that loved Spoodles so much. As we waited on a Saturday night to be seated the castmembers at the front desk seemed overwhelmed with reservations. There was more of a wait then they would tell us. 20 minutes turned into over an hour. Honestly we were about to leave but as Disney foodies we just had to eat there that night. Luckily we did. We met George the "Greek", our server for the evening. It was such a great pleasure to be served from an actual Greek server. From what I asked he is the only one Cat Cora has, besides the two Chefs. We eat out practically 4-5 times a week and have many favorite restaurants not only here but back home and other places we visit around the world on a regular basis. This must have been one of the top three experiences. George made it a truly Magical experience. His true expertise and detail of every dish he described was fascinating. He described the entrees with true 'pathos' only an experienced professional server that takes true pride in his service. He made our mouths water by the time he was done with describing the menu. What was most pleasing was he did not give the typical blah blah blah of a server. We ordered the calamari, spinach pie and saganaki cheese. We would of loved it to be flamed at our table. We were told very elegantly latter on it was because of saftey concerns of the proximity of guests and children. George recomended the wine flights and described to us that the Santorini wines were his favorite because he spent his honeymoon there and had visited the wineries himself and described how the ground was fertile from the volcanic history of the area. Nice info...we were sold and very very happy after enjoying them. The whole fish was beyond anything we have had as a true whole fish experience. George described to us how each fish is inspected each morning to pass the strict freshness by the clarity of the fish eye. Again Sold!!! Well OPA to George, he watched over our table with the greatest of care and we felt truly special. I also observed the family next to us that also gave rave reviews to George for his service. Cat Cora and the Disney management at Kouzzina should be very honored and lucky to have George on there staff. We cannot wait to comeback again and tell everyone to ask for George the "Greek". Yasou to George and to Kouzzina!!!!:cool1:
