Hotels at the port that are close to dining and such

What hotels at the port are the closest to dining that is in walking distance? Just realized that with flying in a day early, and not renting a car, we will need to be close to some type of dining in regards to our hotel. I am now reconsidering staying at Disney for the night. But boy that is a lot more money.

The Holiday Inn resort right up by the port is walking distance to the restaurants that overlook the ship channel. Or, you could stay down by the Cocoa Beach pier, there are several hotels and the number of restaurants.

That’s the reason we stopped staying at PC before our cruises. Not much to do if you don’t have a car. We much prefer staying at the Hyatt in the airport. If we arrive early enough, we go to Disney Springs or Citywalk. If we arrive later, we enjoy the MCO shops, the pool and eat at McCoy’s, the excellent hotel restaurant.

Right. It would just be for one day/night before but I plan to take the first flight out that morning and that would have us in Orlando around 8:30 that morning. Staying at Disney would cost more but provide us more entertainment and transportation. We would not enter a park, but there is absolutely so many other things we could go see and do.

We have stayed multiple times at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach. There is a buffet breakfast included, a decent sized pool, and a pathway to the beach. It is not the cheapest (around $180 or so) but we like to walk the beach to the pier, go to Ron Jon’s, and last time we visited the Key Lime Pie Company right across from Ron Jon’s which I would highly recommend. There are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The Hampton will also book you a shuttle ride to the port the morning of your cruise for a small fee (around $6 per person). We have also stayed at Disney resorts prior to the cruise and taken their transportation to port, but now we prefer being in Cocoa Beach as it seems more relaxing to us.
