IMO, Disney should have waited until they have made a full plan before announcing things. Letting people rebook, giving free dining, and limiting the dates to so close to the initial onset of the pandemic was a poor choice. Taking away the free dining with no option to rebook with the DP for a later date just compounded it. Now this announcement of opening dates, cancelling all reservations aside from resort reservations, and the lack of communication about what a trip will even look like just seems incompetent to me.
If they have some sort of plan of how many days of park reservations guests will be allowed to make depending on their trip length, they should have stated it with the reopening. If they don’t know, I feel that they should have waited before announcing the park openings. They aren’t even telling people with reservations, who had booked FPs and ADRs, when (or how) they will be able to access the replacement systems. It’s like they saw other parks put plans in place and felt they had to get their plan submitted. They released the bare minimum like a student submitting an outline for a term-length science project that they still haven’t figured out how to execute.
