From what I understand a friend of his had a les then stellar experience with them. Most Airlines don't keep spare planes sitting around in forien airports. It's not like with domestic ones where an airline has multiple aircraft at an airport. Frequently when an airline flies to a destination outside of its country of origin it will be the same plane returning a few hours later. For example if I fly down to Orlando from Toronto the same plane will go back to Toronto a few later. No airline is perfect and can foresee a plane having matince probes in a foreign airport. If he wants to keep mentioning about it then change it to all Airlines suckered because the same could happen to any company.

I like Air Canada. Not my favorite airline, but I've flown internationally (mostly to Asia) several times with AC and all were good experiences.

I doubt whatever was said is hurting AC, though. ;)

I wouldn’t worry too much. It’s just his opinion, my sure most people who fly wi5 Air Canada never have an issue

All I'm saying is it's annoying to me that he keeps saying it for no reason at all. Unless hes trying to be funny then it's even worse.

Its been a few weeks, but I don't think he was that upset that they had trouble and needed to repair the plane or didn't have a spare available right away. His problem seemed to be the extraordinarily bad customer service. They didn't really explain things, had the passengers pick up their bags and told them to go home and call in a few hours (and wouldn't answer any other questions) and then when the guy called as they had told him to do, they tried to claim the flight wasn't canceled and he had just missed it. I know I'd be pretty upset if an airline did that to me.

Here's the thing---It's his show and he has an opinion. He gets to express it.
He has reason to believe Air Canada sucks, and he said so.

In life, whenever someone says they don't like something, many others rally and say they do. It's the way it goes. You'll be OK. Stand firm in your beliefs. And let others have theirs.

My interest is you can't base and opinions about something because of one incident that is beyond control of something. Saging air Canada socks at the end of a podcast tellso you absolutely nothing at all. I get that it's his opinion based on that one event but why does Pete get to say it every week just because he has a podcast? I don't think it adds anything to the show unlike "stay out of the dam lakes!"

Because, Once again its His show, HE can say whatever he wants. We have the freedom to not listen if we don't like what he says. Personally I like what he says and how he says it. At least he doesn't sugar coat things

So what my point is it adds nothing to a show about Walt Disney world if it was a podcast about airlines then it would be valid. Plus he's basing this off of one incident that a friend of his had. People got anyone about housekeeping talking to long at the beginning of the how and they got rid of it yet when Pete rants about something or gives his opinion it no one is allowed to hoffer a contradictory one and say I don't like it. SAYING AIR CANAD SUCKS EVERY WEEK AFTER THE SHOW IS POINTLESS AND ADDS NOTHING TO THE DIS UNPLUGGED WALT DISNEY WORLD SHOW.

Eh, it's his show and he can do as he pleases.
I will say this. I am more interested in hearing about companies I SHOULD support then not. I tire of negativity.
Do any of the airlines make major donations in flights to GKTW? Tell me about those airlines and I would be happy to throw a little business their way especially enroute to Orlando.

You seem really upset about this and I'm not sure I understand why. You think it's annoying and adds nothing to the show, why not email Pete directly. I don't think arguing with people here likely to be productive on this issue. :confused3

the boards have changed........it used to be a place of spirited discussion, now there is just advice by some, like, dont go there is you dont like it, dont buy it if you dont like it, dont listen if you dont like it, dont bother us with it if you dont like it. personally i would rather debate it but i also feel it would be more difficult to find someone willing to try to hold up the other end of a debate than it once was. changing times i guess. more people who are content to maintain the status quo. whats the old song. sit down sit down sit down sit down.........sit down your rockin the boat.

I haven't been able to watch the Podcasts for about a month now but what I will say is sometimes something sticks with you long after it occurred.

Pete is big on customer service. When it's good he praises it multiple times but when it's bad he let's you know multiple times. This is the same with many things like restaurant service, quality of food, events, cruises, etc that Pete has talked about.

On the other hand I will say people rant about airlines all the time. It doesn't really matter that it's Air Canada (which I can see is likely the airline you fly with;apologies if it isn't). I see it all the time on the boards and in real life how people hate SWA because of how they do their open seating and boarding positions (and they are my go to airline) but then I also see people talk about how United sucks and American Airlines is awful and Delta is this and that and whatnot. So really regardless of whether it was Air Canada or not airlines in general are things people like to rant about.

I honestly think if Pete has a bad experience with ____ airline he'll likely let us know. The fact that it's Air Canada, at least in my opinion, doesn't actually matter.

If you post a debate that there's depth too (i.e. Should the scene with the women be changed in Pirates) and you'll get a lot of discussion. Do you think it's possible that it's not people being "content to maintain the status quo", but rather people knowing what battles to pick?

He's a host of a Disney opinion show, and giving his opinion.

If you don't like it, don't listen.

There's plenty on the show that adds nothing to Disney discussion. What a strange thing to be fussed about.

Too be fair, Pete is also drawing from the experience of others in his circle ... including at least one Canadian who has more than a little experience with her national carrier.

i dont consider any of it a battle..........i do however consider someone telling someone else," if ya dont like it then?????.", well..........dismissive is a word that comes to mind. its like we dont feel that way and what anyone else thinks doesnt matter.
    sorta like that.

I'm going to have to agree. Also, if you listen, it wasn't beyond their control. Sure the flight being cancelled was, but that's not necessarily what Pete had an issue with. It's the complete lack of customer service that set Pete off. Is having good customer service beyond their control?
