*I'm Back!* We're getting married..at Disney World!!! Jeff & Kathy's PJ! UPDATE: Let's Party! (9/18)

Love love love!!! All your colors are so lovely together and you really made ADH look amazing with your decor! I love that even though ADH appears so bold in color it really transforms so easily with every event. Your cake is just precious and I'm glad Jeff loved the soccer ball!

I am in LOVE with the hidden Mickeys in the swirls on your cake! So glad Jeff liked his surprise. :) Your colors always make me happy to see! :D We are going with a much darker palette in ADH, so I'm curious to see how much the colors change the space. :)

Me too!! The hidden Mickey's were one of my favorite parts :) I still absolutely LOVE our colors, their so bright and cheery, kinda like us haha! I can't wait to see how your colors look

Your photos are amazing and you look gorgeous! I love the decor in ADH. Your choices looked beautiful! Especially the floral. The colors are so bright and cheery! The cake looks amazing!! My husband loves soccer too. What a cute idea!!

Thank you! I still cant believe how amazing our pictures are! Thank you for all your compliments! I love all of our choice!

Those photos are amazing. I just love the colors of your reception. So bright and colorful. They really pop! Those escort cards/favors are a really cute idea too. I wonder how many people ate them right away.:p I know I would have!

That cake is really sweet too with all the hidden mickeys and your wonderful wedding colors!

Thank you! I'm not sure how many people ate them first, but surprisingly a couple people forgot them. We took them and ate them though :rotfl: I don't know how they forgot them! I think most of the kids ate theirs first.

Thanks! I love our cake! We will be in Disney in November, so about a month after our 1 year, but I want to get an anniversary cake I think!

Thank you! I agree ADH really works with any colors! I'm so glad we decided to have our reception there!

I love the pictures of you two against the boardwalk with the light blue and white! So pretty! I forgot to ask, did you get your video yet or are you still waiting for it? I don't recall seeing it yet and I am excited to watch!

Thank you! The ones against the blue and white are some of my favorites too...although really I have trouble picking favorites! We did get our video back but I haven't posted it because...well, I'm not sure how to post it :rotfl2: So if anyone wants to let me know how, I will! I'll probably do it once I finish the reception.

Saturday October 10th Part 12: Introductions, First Dance, and Parent's Dance

We made our way upstairs and hung out with our bridal party since it had been so long since we'd seen them! :rotfl2: Then DJ Charles came over to clarify a few things with us, such as making sure we had the correct groomsmen name for groomsmen 2.0. Then we waited just a few minutes and the music started! We walked in to Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen.

We decided to let the kids wait on the first landing. It was easier, plus they were getting a little antsy...if you can't tell

Next up, the parents. They asked if it would be ok if they were introduced together...we thought it was a little weird, but we said it was okay.

Then, it was Jeff's friend Aj and his sister. They both look so excited don't they!

Groomsmen 2.0 Andrew (AJ) and Bridesmaid Shelby. Now THEY were having a good time!

Cel and my friend Katie. They got into it a bit too!

Best man Sam and Maid of Honor Mary! That dance was put together by my sister. I'm surprised she convinced Sam to do it! But it was awesome!!

And of course, the most important introduction....

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Coleman!

Once we were introduced, we made our way to the middle of the dance floor. After a minute, DJ Charles announced our first dance as husband and wife. We danced to the song "Giving it All (to you)" by Hayley and Michaels

I love this song :) We had originally chosen to dance to "I Don't Dance" by Lee Brice, but changed it later when we heard this song. We felt it fit more than I Don't Dance.

I kinda love this picture, with the burst from the light in it

Next up, it was time for my dad to join me on the dance floor for our father daughter dance. We danced to Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle

I was trying to distract him so he didn't cry too much, apparently I said something really funny. Not sure what it was.

The song and dance got to a few people there.

Our dance ended, and it was time for Jeff and his mom to dance. They danced to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. (DJ Charles was nice enough to cut it off a little early :rotfl2:)

Typical of Jeff's sister...she's always on her phone.

And with that, we finished the dances. Next, it was time for speeches. My dad wanted to say a couple words before we got into them so he was up first.

Yay dances!! I love how you guys had everyone stop at the landing - most of my peeps just steamrolled right in lol. So many great dancing pictures - can't WAIT for the speeches!

I love all the special Disney details at your reception. And the cake was fantastic!!! Also it looked like everyone was having so much fun making an entrance!!!

That is a really pretty song! I have never heard of it before! And yes I do want to see your video! :) Looking forward to it!

Thanks! It was pretty fun! Obviously some had more fun with it than others but that's ok! The speeches were fantastic! They were both sorta long (not in a bad way!) so I need to figure out how I want to do that lol.

That cake was so good!! I wish I could have had more of it! We had a pretty awesome wedding party ;)

Thank you! Yeah we kinda fell in love with it when we heard it. Actually, the singers got married and that's the song they wrote for their first dance.

Ok, I'll figure out how to post it and I will!

Ok y'all! I promise I haven't forgotten about you! I have been busy and I've been trying to figure out what to do about our speeches. We had some awesome speeches and I want to share them but I am soooo not tech savy, so I'm trying to figure out how to do that! For now, I will try to kind of give an summary of the speeches and then you can watch them when I figure out how to share the video (without having to pay a lot of a site)

Saturday October 10th Part 13: Speeches

After the dances, it was time for speeches. My dad had decided he wanted to say a few words first.

He started off by welcoming and thanking everyone for making the trip down to share in our special day. He talked about how special Disney World has been to our family, and hoped others were seeing how special of a place it is.

He talked about when Jeff asked for his permission. Jeff asked him after he went out and played golf with my dad a couple of his friends. He had planned to ask on the course, but they walked and there was never a moment just the two of them. So he ended up asking in the car, on the way home. My dad said yes, of course. Then after a minute he asked "what would you have done if I'd said no?" to which he responded "well, it would have been a long quiet ride home."

Then he thanked everyone again, and passed the mic off to the best man, who was only slightly nervous!

He started off by talking about how Jeff knew how awkward he can be in front of a crowd, that my DH had been heckling him for a few months about giving a speech. Jeff and Sam have known each other for several years, and met through bowling.

He talked about how generous Jeff is, how he has not only given him a number of bowling balls, but is responsible for getting him his job. He also mentioned how much Jeff and I have in common. As well as mentioning that he didn't think Jeff would find someone who would put up with his FIFA addiction, 6 am soccer games, and his collection of horrible sports memorobilia.

Sam is constantly reminded of our love for each other, when he checks his phone in the morning. He said many mornings he wakes up to a text that says "have a wonderful day beautiful" and isn't until he notices that kissing emoji's, that he realizes the text what meant for me. He said he was sure he wasn't the only one who has recieved these messages, to which many in the room raised their hands!

Sam did an amazing job with his speech! For someone who does not like to have attention drawn to him, he did great giving his speech.

Next up, was the maid of honor, my sister Mary. She started her speech a little different than I think she had originally planned. See, we are from central Illinois. Where we are from is just about the dividing line for baseball fans. You will find it split between Cardinals and Cubs. A lot of my family is from here or Southern Illinois, and are Cardinals fans. While Jeff's family is from Northern Illinois and are mostly Cubs fans. It just so happened on this night, there was a post season game between the Cardinals and the Cubs. So she opened by bringing this up and saying "Go Cards!"

She told the story of how she found out about our engagement. You see, my sister and I talk every day. But we don't typically talk on the phone (unless we are facetiming to pack for Disney!). We are usually texting or talking on G chat. So it is somewhat of an unwritten rule for us, that if one of us calls, we have to pick up. She was in the middle of a medical school application workshop when she felt her phone buzz and saw my name pop up. She knew she had to call me back as soon as possible, and was able to have a coworker take over for her. When she called me back, she had many different scenarios running through her head as to what I was calling about. When I happily asked her if she was ready to have a brother in law, that was not one of them. She honestly thought I was calling to tell her I got a job!

Her speech was peppered with inside jokes, or making fun of me for doing things out of love (such as forming meatloaf cups into the shape of a heart lol). The first time Jeff and Mary met face to face was actually at Disney World. They bonded over a love of banoffee tarts, chocolate, and bananas.

She threw in quips from our childhood, that even she was surprised made it into her speech. How she used to try to trick me into playing "sleep" which never worked. One I even forgot about was when I was younger I dubbed my grandmother Petunia, I have no clue why!

She reminisced about our time with our cousins Julia and Annie, watching movies, building forts, and trying to stay up all night (which I don't think ever worked!).

Then her speech turned a little more serious. She talked about our relationship, the ridiculous things we talk about, and how Jeff fits perfectly into our relationship. One of my favorite lines is "somehow you morphed from my annoying little sister, into my best friend". She continued on to talk about our mother, wishing she was here with us.

She did a great job of including some funny things to lighten the mood a touch. She talked about how she see's our mother in me all the time, in my laugh, and in how I stick my tongue out a little bit before I sneeze (yes I do this :rotfl: my mother stuck her's way out!)

Needless to say there was not a dry eye in the house, even from the people who did not have the chance to know my mother.

She did an amazing job on her speech! She had the perfect balance of jokes, and serious notes. She even peppered her speech with a few Disney quotes. It was probably the best speech I've heard. Love ya Sestra!!

After the speeches, we asked Jeff's Uncle to say a quick prayer before dinner.

Then, it was time to dig in! I will include a link to our wedding video in the next post for those who want to watch (since I don't know how to directly include it :/). After that, food porn!

Enjoy!

Definitely cried a lot during your video! I stick out my tongue a little bit before i sneeze too!! Corey makes so much fun of me!

I love your wedding video! I cried, I'll admit it, I'm a sap.
Even through the downpour, you were so focused on Jeff that it felt you you didn't even notice the rain, and nothing could wipe the smile off your face.
Thank you so much for sharing it.

Haha yeah watching the video definitely makes me cry every time! Ha! I don't know many other people who stick out their tongues before they sneeze!

Aw thank you! I actually didn't notice the downpour much. I noticed it was raining obviously because everyone was trying to get umbrellas and stuff for us. But for the most part I was just focused on Jeff. I'm glad that came across to others

Saturday October 10th Part 14: Food porn!

After the speeches were finished, it was time for one of the best parts....the food!!!! Jeff thought it was a little weird that we had servers who filled and carried our plates for us. And I would agree, it was a bit awkward to just be saying I want this instead of being able to get it ourselves.

We had 3 different salads.

The chopped salad from Hollywood Brown Derby. It had all the fixings on the side that people could add if they wanted. I myself, ended up skipping the filler food! :rotfl:

We also had just the garden salad, nothing too special.

And our third salad was a tomato and mozzarella salad. As far as I know people enjoyed the salads. I decided to skip them for more of the other foods!

Our first side, delicious mac n cheese! We loved this! I think my plate was like half mac n cheese, one reason I wanted to fill my own plate. As much as I enjoyed all that mac n cheese, it filled up the plate and made it hard to fit everything I wanted onto it! Just like our next side

Mashed potatoes! I LOOOOVVVEEE mashed potatoes. I could eat a whole meal of them, and these did not disappoint! We had them made the cream cheese mashed potatoes they used to have at Le Cellier. They were my favorite, especially with the filet.

And our last side was carrots and green beans. These were really good too! I enjoyed them. Next up, the main attractions.

Oven-roasted chicken stuffed with prosciutto, spinach, and fontina cheese.

Pork with mango and caramelized onion chutney.

The Roots didn't get a photo of the beef, it was a black pepper crusted strip loin. Everyone really enjoyed the food! Like many others have said people still talk about the food to this day!

While we were eating, my adorable flower girl came over to see her mommy. Then she decided she wanted to sit with "the princess"

She saw the green beans on my plate and decided she wanted to eat some of them. It was too funny! She told me she likes the beans on the inside, and her dog Lucy likes the outsides. How convenient for her :rotfl2: Her and her brother actually still call me "the princess" to this day! Last time I got dinner with them they said they had to come see the princess! So adorable!

After that, the dancing started! Next time, I'll post some dancing pics! And we had some surprise guests show up!

Yeeeeeeeah! You're back. I'm so glad you didn't leave us hanging.

I watched the video....your sister....OMG...tears everywhere! I haven't even met you nor did I have the pleasure to meet your mother, but I couldn't stop myself. She sounds like she was a wonderful woman and that you have many of her memorable and loving qualities. I think that's something for you to be proud of.

Thank you for sharing! Can't wait for more.

Nope I didn't forget about you all! I've just been busy and couldn't figure out how to do the speeches justice! Yeah there definitely wasn't a dry eye in the house. My sister just has a way with words, so I knew her speech would be great! I'm afraid of trying to live up to her speech when she gets married! My mother was a wonderful woman, I love whenever someone tells me I look just like her. I cherish every comment :)

I'll post some more probably tomorrow!

Saturday October 10th Part 15: Let's Get this Party Started!!

While we were eating dinner, the Roots came over to borrow our rings for some ring shots. They turned out very cute!

Then, it was time to start the dancing! A few of my friends and I started it off, but it didn't take too long for others to join in! One of the great things about having everyone at the dessert party the night before, is I didn't feel like we needed to go around to every table and thank people for coming. We had already done that the night before. We did go talk to people we hadn't seen the night before though.

My dad and one of his sisters.

One of Jeff's cousins dancing with her dad.

There were several people on the dance floor pretty much the whole night, it was great!

Some of our bridal party and their significant others. A couple of us got together a few weeks ago and the girls even said we had a great group of significant others. I had the three girls that weren't in the bridal party sitting together and they all ended up getting along really well.
Makes me happy they got along so well :)

So, this is one of Jeff's cousins husbands. He's wearing a hat because the day before they were leaving for the wedding, he was playing basketball with some friends and ended up getting poked in the eye! It was pretty bad, he had to wear sunglasses and a hat. I can't remember what he did but they were worried he might not be able to go to the wedding!

One of my best friends parent's. I love this picture. I've known them since I was in about 1st grade. So sweet :)

Ha! Cadence looks so happy

I must say we had some pretty darn cute kids at our wedding :)

Then the kids dessert came out...chocolate! Just what they needed

Dancing with my cousins kiddos, I love these kids

I believe it may have been time for the cha-cha slide!

DJ Charles. So glad we got him even though we didn't request him! He did an awesome job.

Not sure what was going on here but we were having fun!

Ring bearers with their parents :) They had lots of fun dancing!

I totally forgot about this picture! It is typical Jeff and his friend Sam. They have such a bromance going on!

This is one of my dad's best friends. We have known them forever :) Next thing we knew, DJ Charles was calling us all out to the dance floor for one BIG group picture :)

Next up, we have some party crashers!

Saturday October 10th Part 16: Surprise Guests!

We got everyone on the dance floor for some group pictures. Since we had such a big wedding party, we took up pretty much the entire dance floor!

For this picture they asked everyone to point to who got married today! I love this one :)

HA! I totally just noticed the kids pointing at each other! So cute!

Next was a funny face picture! Then the Roots said "wait wait, someone's not in the picture!"

The faces of everyone in these pictures crack me up!

It's Mickey and Minnie!! The reactions from everyone were totally worth not telling anyone!

Jeff's cousins son was SOOOOOO excited! His reaction along with his mom's is priceless!

After this picture everyone was able to come and meet Mickey and Minnie and have their pictures taken. We have so many pictures of people with Minnie and Mickey, I'm not going to include all of them.

She absolutely LOVED Mickey. In fact to this day when her mom say's their going to see me she says "Mickey" and starts dancing!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE  this picture. Those boys are so cute!

She followed Mickey around the whole time and just kept point at him! It was adorable.
Next up: Dancing with Mickey and Minnie and cutting the cake!

Loving this story!! The pics with Mickey and Minnie are fantastic...I don't know how many people get to have those in their wedding dresses!!! Such great memories! Also, the food looked soooo good it's making me hungry!
