I have to ask all of those who opposed the lockdowns and compare what Sweden did. Over there most practiced social distancing, stayed home from work when sick and groups of more then 50 were banned. Do you think most Americans would follow those rules if they didn't lock every one down?
The staying home when sick is probably one of the biggest issues here across the board. Between prefect attendance awards/prizes that encourage sending a kid sick (since lets be real probably no kid goes k-12 never getting sick for a day), to working parents that can't take time off from work and so much. The easy option sounds like give more sick days but they are already abused at a lot of places as and not used for actual sickness.
I think we need a better way to obtain a dr.s note for the backing of being sick for schools and work, but I know for our insurance and many others its around $120/130 to get a note, many can't afford that regularly so off they go sick or send kids sick because too many days have been used.
