Is Disney World closure causing any fallout with the various college programs?

Has anyone heard anything about the Disney World closure affecting any of the various college programs?

For example: it is my understanding that there is a constant stream of international students coming to Orlando to start their one year terms at the various Epcot pavilions. At the moment, it is apparently impossible (supposedly) for most Europeans to fly into the USA, so I don't see how the new hires could even get here, assuming their employment offers are still being honored by Disney.

If the shutdown lasts longer than the end of March, I wonder if Disney would possibly rescind some of the summer employment offers that have been made to university students.

Yes. My son just had a meeting with his leaders and the entire CP is being shut down. Current CP'ers have to be out of housing by Weds at 11 AM. Will provide more info as I get it.

Wow, that is way more severe than I expected. Please provide all the details you can, as you hear them.

My daughter is scheduled to return to Disney World in early May for her second summer of employment there. She (as well as all the other students scheduled to start at that time) are understandably concerned.

Disney is paying them through the end of the month and is not deducting housing. They are sending teams to each housing complex to help everyone make arrangements to get home.
Considering the circumstances, I guess that's a reasonably generous offer. When was his employment scheduled to end?

Idk what Disney is gonna do when they reopen. The permanent cast members will likely be stretched thin to accomodate the lack of CPs.

If Disney is making arrangement s to get them home, is Disney thinking parks aren't opening April 1
    Bingo.

A lot of this managing people and emotions, and the panic response. It's an easier pill for people to swallow to say "we're shutting things down for 2-3 weeks" and keep extending it, than it is to say "we're closing for 3 months." Everyone needs to start thinking May 1, or Memorial Day rather than April 1.

Agree. If they were opening April 1 they wouldn't send thousands of CP's home early.

And to clarify something I said earlier...Disney is not making arrangements to get them home. They are sending teams to the complexes to assist with that process.

I see that happening. With the EU not traveling and Canada soon to be added travel restrictions. No sense in opening in the near term. My heart goes out to the workers and I hope the govt steps in like it did to the auto I dustry years ago

Here's where the mouse needs to step up and help. No they have no obligation to do so but here's where you step up and do something over and above.

That's not good enough. Sorry Disney this is not the time to be cheap.

Just recieved word from our daughter that she is working tomorrow and must move out by 11:00am on the 18th. This is such last minute notice we are trying to make arrangements. She is really upset. She loves Disney very much she wants to stay and work.

I don't understand why Disney is insisting on such a near, firm deadline. I see no reason that Disney couldn't give students at least a couple of weeks to make travel arrangements, especially for those students who have to fly. Maybe Disney will be extending the deadline on a case-by-case basis.

Do you believe in the tooth fairy. I wish. I'm shocked. Getting this news is unbelievable.
