Is your trip still going ahead?

not missing out on much!!

DW and myself are unsure on our December trip now that its a park reservation system and Orlando seeing a spike in positive tests over the last few days.. need to decide on whether to cancel the trip or wait and see
I have rebooked for October. I will faithfully report back!

LOL, DVC's a bit drastic I thought. Then I saw your trips list.
Haha it's been on the cards for a while, but we've never wanted to give up trips. No we are forced to give up the trips we can pile the money on and make the investment :)

sadly cancelled our Dec trip.. didn't really fancy spending all of that money on Wilderness lodge when it could be half the experience or trip we usually do. Roll on 2021!!

FYI - Aer Lingus - I have just received the "important information about your upcoming flight" email. Giving choice to change without a fee or apply for a voucher. The email refers to dates between 20th July and 16th August for bookings made before 31st March.

We don't want to rebook or a voucher, so I am hoping this is the precursor email to full cancellation.

Our flight is 27th July (LGW-DUB-MCO)

Fingers crossed we can end up with a full refund option. We are now looking at a last minute deal to Europe somewhere, pending the air bridge announcements due Monday.

Ours is currently looking doubtful, BA isn’t looking too good right now for flights which were all paid off. The CDC isn’t allowing flights into MCO currently either. The FCO isn’t advising travel, the USA infection rates and deaths just keeps getting higher in numbers..🤷 I doubt it’s going ahead but you never know. We need to know either way before the beginning of August.

If you are hoping to know before final payment is due good luck. The airlines generally aren’t interested in this part.

Our final balance is due with WDW UK next week 1st July - you would have thought they would have extended the final payment due under the circumstances. Assume we can get full refund from Disney if our flight doesnt operate on 26th August - the situation with our Virgin flights is a different matter as they were paid in full months ago (and were the second attempt anyway after Thomas Cook went bust). Unsure whether we want to go next year as daughter will be in different position as she will have finished uni.

Disney told me they had extended the final balance date. Whilst a pain to get through to I think you should call a Disney.

Would you call the UK number or a US one? I had a reminder email to pay the full balance a few days ago. Having doubts about going now anyway - even though I responded to the email saying I still wanted to go, assume its still possible to change your mind?

I’d call the UK number. If it offers you a callback option take it they do call back. My guess is they will give you back the deposit before whatever final payment date they do impose.

Thank you - I rang them on the 0800 number and it redirected to US. Was waiting a bit maybe half hour but listened to the Disney music on loudspeaker so wasnt too bad. Girl went away for a while to ask and now balance is extended to 35 days before, which gives me an extra 3 weeks to pay which is handy before we make a final decision. I asked about our resort and she said all guests are staying there as normal along with NBA but when she returned to phone, she said those with bookings at CSR will be 'reached out to' re a move to a 'comparable' resort in due course.

Tried openchat and I got no help at all, all she said was that she was not a reservation specialist, so that was that, didn't even get an answer as to whether I could delay my final balance payment. All she offered to do was cancel my trip and give me a refund. Disappointed.
My view is that if US guests can benefit from the discount from the DDP situation as they are not restricted from travelling then Disney should do the right thing for UK guests and allow it on reservations when we can travel otherwise the discount is as much use as a chocolate frying pan.

I'm wondering if WDW is going postpone the reopening, having 9500 cases in 1 day :scared:

DL has, but ostensibly because of the delay in getting government approval/guidance.
But WDW is putting in place a lot of controls.
So it's hard to know.

Personally I think it's about 60% they will delay.

I'm starting to worry about my trip in September with all the cases going up and with TUI cancelling their holidays (not travelling with TUI). From what I see people have reported it's only the amount of infected people that has gone up, which can be because of more testing. But if the cases really are increasing, we won't see the amounts of deaths or hospitalisations go up until in about a week. I'm kind of starting to hope that Virgin will cancel our flights now, even though I really want to go.

Hospitalizations about a week; deaths nearer 3 weeks.
The less political sources say the proportions of those tested being positive are up.
Also it's the 18-34 age group that is testing positive more.
