Dunno about that. Pixel count is one thing but there are more to video (and photo) than just pixel count. A 640x480 image taken using a 1/3" CCD vs 1/6" CCD vs 3-CCD vs 3-CMOS vs 1-CCD w/ 3-color-filter will yield dramatic differences in picture quality.
Forget 60". I only use 20" TV monitor (properly calibrated, viewed from 2 ft away in a light-controlled room) and I can always see the difference between different technologies displaying 640x480 images.
