Kelly&Adrian 09/22/10- SBP/The Attic/HDDR/UK - Nominated for Best Dressed Attendants!

Great pics and I just realized I was lucky enough to one of the people you first shared them with. How are you going to decide which ones to hang up? Sounds silly but for my scrapbook can you send me a picture of you wearing your earrings? I know you understand but others might wonder :)

It's so hard to figure out which ones to hang!! And I aws planning to send you a pic - I have a couple that are like "earring ads"!

Your park photos are beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more! :goodvibes

Thanks a bunch...more coming soon!

Your photos are gorgeous! The colors are so vibrant. Makes me want to renew my vows at Disney.

Thanks - it was really awesome! Disney sure knows how to throw a party...

Beautiful, really beautiful - you must be thrilled with them!!

I really am - there are so many good ones! I wondered if it would be worth it, as with the photo shoot and the CD it was a big expense but WOW it was....so worth it!

Your MK and Epcot shots are fantastic. You must be so pleased with them . I don't know how you're gonna pick which ones to frame.

Can't wait to see more.

Thanks a bunch!

The pictures turned out so great! I really love the Haunted Mansion ones :lmao: I think the 5th one down of the Epcot ones is my fav, it is such a cool shot!

Thanks - I love that one! The experience of going over to Haunted Mansion was pretty cool...it was REALLY wet over there though, Amy was so worried I'd get my dress wet. It was worth it though, the pics turned out awesome!

The pictures are beautiful. I would find it very hard to pick.

How was the reception? You had beautiful weather. It was a beautiful weekend.

When we got to BW, we were still kind of lost in our own little world – I did NOT expect that Randy and my whole family would be waiting for us to arrive! Daryn unloaded me from the van, and then I looked over and spotted everyone…it was a fantastic moment – I think somehow I had forgotten that the girls would be done hair and make-up and all dressed up by the time I got back…it was one of the surprisingly few moments all day where I got a bit teary, until they all said “Hey – don’t ruin the makeup!!”

I also met up with Amy and her crew, and chatted with them for a few minutes, and then Randy was like “OK – time to get to work!” So off we went to take a bunch of pics with him…some of our favorites were from before the wedding actually…

Adrian and his Bestie:
K_A0388_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

By this time it was 9:55 and Amy had sent everyone down to Sea Breeze Point…at this stage I said to Amy and my mom, “I’m feeling kind of dizzy, I haven’t eaten since 4 AM…” Amy looked at me with a wide-eyed look of horror and says “Wait here – I’m getting you a snack!” – she literally runs through the lobby, and comes back with a bag of cheese nips and a Twix bar – which her and my mom proceed to feed me so that I don’t get any on my hands/dress. Of course, Adrian got in on the food action too, because he did even worse that me, he didn’t even eat before the MK shoot!!

Up next, "Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married..."

Whew – so THEN we headed down the Boardwalk to SBP – it’s funny because until I saw these pictures I didn’t even really notice all of the people sitting around watching us parade down…

K_A1614_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

Here are a few of our Arrival at SBP – I especially love the one of my mom and Adrian:
K_A0552_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A0573_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

After he left, and was headed in with Sara, I said to my mom, “I’m really dizzy still…I really hope I don’t pass out…” (I am a fainter and my worst fear about my wedding day was fainting although it would have made for a hilarious video) she looks at me in a panic and says “Do you want me to go get you water?” – I reply with “MOM – the wedding is starting, there is no time!”

Amy overhears this conversation and says something to the effect of “You are NOT going to faint – you ARE going to take deep breaths and you WILL be fine! It’s time to start walking…” She is fantastic – it’s like in that one moment all I did was listen to her, she had given me no choice, so we took off down the LONG aisle (the whole time I was chanting in my head “don’t pass out, don’t pass out, don’t pass out”). I kind of don’t even remember the opening words of the ceremony because I was still not sure I was going to make it. Then a light breeze came up, and it’s like my body just instantly relaxed and I was “in the zone”

K_A0625_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A0637_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

“To the family and friends of Kelly and Adrian, I welcome you here today on this most joyous occasion in order that you may share with them the pledging of their everlasting love and commitment to each other….their wedding day.

They particularly wanted to invite you here because the growth of their love is connected to this place. It has given them a feeling of timelessness and peace, and a sense of the wonder of life.”
K_A1646_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A1635_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

K_A1621_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

“The mood of this wedding is one of joy, festivity, and well being. You are here to celebrate your wonderful good fortune and the inevitability of it all, how wonderful it is that you two found each other and how delightful it feels to love one another as much as you do.

Love really is something over which we have no control. We can need it, wish for it, long for it, but all on our own, we cannot insist it into being. Therefore when love finds us, when the person we simply cannot live without crosses our path, it is truly a gift, and the wedding that celebrates this star-fated match is indeed the happiest of occasions.

Love is a miraculous gift and a wedding a celebration of that magic, and that is what we are here for today. We are gathered together, family and friends, to be overjoyed for and with Kelly and Adrian, who are so wonderfully suited to one another, that is pure delight for the rest of us to see just how happy two people can be.

A good marriage is dependant upon many factors, but the first prerequisite is a strong bond of love, friendship, and respect for one another. Your love will grow deeper with the passing of each day, but the genuine liking of each other, the willingness to accept each other’s strong and weak points with understanding and respect will be a very important part of this union.”
K_A1653_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

K_A0658_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

Then Adrian’s dad Marven did a reading of the poem “The Art of Marriage”

“A good marriage must be created.
In marriage the little things are the big things.

It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I love you" at least once a day.

It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted;
the courtship should not end with the honeymoon.
It should continue through all the years.

It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together facing the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is doing things for each other,
not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice,
but in the spirit of joy.

It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating
gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is not expecting the husband to wear a halo
or the wife to have wings of an angel.
It is not looking for perfection in each other.

It is cultivating flexibility, patience,
understanding and a sense of humor.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.

It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal,
dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal.
It is not only marrying the right partner,
it is being the right partner.”

K_A0640_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Up next - Ceremony, continued...

“And so it is, the two of you, Kelly and Adrian, have come here today with your family and friends, the people you most cherish, to signify your desire to be united in marriage.

I ask that you face each other and join hands”

K_A0661_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Adrian, please repeat after me:
“From this day on, I Adrian, choose you, Kelly, to be my wife. To live with you and laugh with you, to stand by your side and sleep in your arms. To always listen to you, to labor with you, and to encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and for you, to be the most that I can.”

Everyone cracked up here, including me – Rev. Jack Day paused dramatically right before the “to always listen to you” part which was one of the highlights of the ceremony for us all…very funny and cute moment…

K_A0666_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

“Kelly please repeat after me:
“From this day on, I Kelly, choose you, Adrian, to be my husband. To live with you and laugh with you, to stand by your side and sleep in your arms. To always listen to you, to labor with you, and to encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and for you, to be the most that I can.”

“Do you Adrian and Kelly, promise to always love, hold, and adore each other, in good times and in bad. To enjoy, console, delight, and astound each other. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and to maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks for each other always, and to die with this love that you have for one another?”

Adrian and Kelly: “We do.”

The wedding ring is an unbroken circle which symbolizes unending and everlasting love, and is a visible symbol which represents your inner commitment to one another. May your lives together, Kelly and Adrian, be blessed with everlasting happiness.

Adrian, will you place this ring on Kelly’s finger and repeat after me:

“This ring is my precious gift to you as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded with my love. With this ring, I thee wed.”

Kelly, will you place this ring on Adrian’s finger and repeat after me:

“This ring is my precious gift to you as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded with my love. With this ring, I thee wed.”

K_A1652_9-22-10.JPG

Sand Ceremony:
“Love is the eternal force of life. Love is the force that allows us to face fear and uncertainty with courage. But although you will be sharing one life, never forget that you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other. Keep your commitment primary. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately. To symbolize the importance of the individuals within the marriage and the joining of two live into one entity, 2 colors of sand will now be layered together. This symbolizes that the marriage is based on the strength of the individuals.”\
K_A0704_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

And now we combine the colors, which symbolizes two lives joined as one together forever. May your lives together be longer than the time it would take to separate these individual grains of sand.
K_A0712_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

Now for those who know Adrian and I, we are both a bit competitive – which was indicated by the fact that we somehow turned the sand ceremony into a race of sorts – he won…
K_A0714_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Kelly and Adrian go into the world and fulfill your lives. Hold fast to your ideals, and give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love that you have for one another, now sealed in marriage, continue to deepen and flourish so that your lives together may be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration. Adrian sir, you now have the privilege and honor of kissing your beautiful wife.
K_A0727_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

Your pics are so great! I love the ceremony decor, especially the way the bows are tied on! The boardwalk pictures are all so sweet :goodvibes

These are lovely!! So glad I have Randy shooting our VR in May!!

Randy is a dream to work with - he gives great direction and also seemed to capture so many "moments" for us...

Your pics are so great! I love the ceremony decor, especially the way the bows are tied on! The boardwalk pictures are all so sweet :goodvibes
Thanks a bunch...it was funny when I was at my planning session I told Laura I wanted the chair covers with bows, she suggested tying them over to the side, as they had done it for a bridal show and she loved it...I basically said "fill your boots" lol...they are the experts, not me, and i truly think they did a great job!!

So after the photo shoot with Randy, Adrian headed to the room cause his feet were sore so he changed into his awesome orange crocs, and the girls, Randy, and I headed up to The Attic...holy crap it's a long walk to get there - that hallway has got to be the longest hallway I have ever seen!

Here's us in the elevator:
K_A2170_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

We waited till Adrian joined us for the "grand entrance"...we walked in, everyone was cheering and clapping, and then I spotted the cake and made a beeline for it - it was SO beautiful! And it got featured on the DFTW Facebook page the next day!! Anyways - Randy captured the moment perfectly:
K_A2173_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Then I spotted the cake:

K_A2192_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

K_A2311_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

After we got in, we had speeches which went beautifully. My best friend Shanna did a toast to the bride, my sister Tanya did a speech/toast, and then Adrian's bestie Sara surprised him with a toast - it was awesome and super funny!

The food at the reception was great. We had pre-reception fruit and pastry...
K_A2296_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Instead of place cards, we used Mickey ears with names on the backs, the names were in bright orange for the men and hot pink for the women, and had a special sticker on the back of one ear that said "Adrian and Kelly's Fairytale Wedding, September 22, 2010" with a daisy on it...the Floral team was so good about these little details!

The buffet included an omelet station, sausage and bacon, wild rice, chicken with granny smith apple and fig au jus, pasta with artichoke cream sauce, and the best of all....cream cheese filled crepes with a selection of sauces (fresh berry sauce, creme anglaise, and chocolate sauce).....YUM! for some reason, the food wasn't sitting well with me, but the sweets sure did - I had 2 crepes and 3 pieces of cake - LOL

K_A2286_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A2300_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Here are some of the decor (and one of the presents my family gave us cause eit's such a pretty picture)...it was funny because I made it through almost the whole day without crying, then I opened the first gift and burst into tears...my family got together and got us the Alice in Wonderland China Tea set I had been eyeing up for years - I had promised myself I would buy it on this trip, but ended up adding stuff to the wedding instead - it was SO nice of them!

K_A2202_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A2291_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

After brunch, we all hung out and got caricatures done, and just generally chilled out...we also got the guitar player to stay right from the ceremony till the end of brunch so it was great to have him there serenading us all day! People loved both of these additions to the day so much...the idea of having a caricature artist is a great one if you are looking for a unique favor and a way to fill time at the reception...we didn't want to serve alcohol because we had SUCH a long day ahead of us, so he was a great way to fill up the day...plus he was SO good!! His caricatures really captured people's personalities well...
K_A2289_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A2295_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Up next, Mickey and Minnie arrive!

After a while, in true Disney fashion....Mickey and Minnie arrived. It was SO special because Adrian's dad Marven, who is a huge kid, had no idea they were coming...so he was SO surprised...it was a pretty special moment that's for sure!
K_A2422_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

K_A2441_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Then we had out first dances with them (totally unplanned) and then they also danced with our guests (we have tons of great pics from this):

K_A2688_9-22-10_800x533.JPG

Seriously - having Mickey and Minnie attend the brunch was one of the best decisions that we made. It was a wedding gift from my sister to have them there, but honestly I would have had to find the room in my budget for them, because it's just truly a Disney Moment that you cannot recreate...it was so awesome. They interacted with our guests, were so personable, and just had a great time. It was an amazing part of the day, and we both love the pictures that came out of it!

It also helps that Randy and Stan have worked so many events like this, they are so prepared to capture every second of the magic, it's stellar to work with such pros!

After Mickey and Minnie left, Randy took us out for one last parting shot, and then he was off!

This is literally the last shot he took and it was a great one:
K_A2753_9-22-10_400x600.JPG

By this time we needed a break from all the posing and structure...so we headed off to Hoop-de-doo-Revue...that's up next, and it was a rollicking good time!

Wow!!
Your reception was lovely!!
You look like you were enjoying every moment of it!!

Thanks so much for sharing your Mickey and Minnie photos. It's obvious they really added a special touch to your reception. The Attic is a perfect spot. The space is intimate but large enough to accommodate your party. And you can get all those great balcony photos. You both look so happy, no signs of stress and tension. Only much love between you.

I agree that The Attic is a perfect reception spot - it is so beautiful in there, and needed no added decor really! I think the photos really captured us as we truly are, we love each other a ton, and are able to just relax and be ourselves all the time, which is a pleasure!!

I'm warning you, the pictures in this part of the thread aren't great...they are taken from a non-professional camera and the lighting is mostly terrible.

After the reception, we headed out to take Disney Transportation over to HDDR at Fort Wilderness. We headed over to the bus stop at BWV to go to MK, and then took the boat to Fort Wilderness. I know that to some, this is totally beyond unconventional, but we had a BLAST! I knew transportation wouldn't be busy at that time of day, and just could not justify paying $750 for private transportation that we could get for free!

So when we rounded the corner to the bus stop we saw that the MK bus was THERE!! So we took off running (yes, I RAN in my dress...luckily I had changed into flip flops) to catch the bus...the people were literally cheering to see us all run up and make it in the nick of time. Amy (my planner) said she drove by right at that moment and it was hysterical to see. Adrian changed into bright orange crocs by this time too because his dress shoes were killing his feet so we looked quite hilarious I'm sure.

Here are a few pics on the bus:

66074_444412503820_587588820_5339959_7315961_n.jpg

The bus ride was uneventful, and then we arrived at MK and of course created quite a stir. I guess somehow up until this point I hadn't really noticed people gasping, staring, and taking pictures but it all sunk in at this point...we were kind of like celebrities for just a few moments. We boarded the boat pretty quickly and headed over to Fort Wilderness, got checked in and then found a shady spot to wait til they opened the door.

Here am awesome pic taken with my friend's son and my girls:
69158_444412828820_587588820_5339969_974484_n.jpg

We got a fantastic group shot taken when we got there but I haven't scanned it yet. Trust me, to get 25 people all smiling at the camera is not easy, but we did it!!

They opened the doors to HDDR and luckily people kind of parted a bit to let me through in my dress...it's pretty huge, and there is not a lot of space at Pioneer Hall! We got to our seats, they served the salads and corn bread pretty quick, and the show started. We had 2 huge tables pretty much front and center, it was an awesome viewing location.

Here's one of us eating, me with my classy napkin:

Of course, we got picked on a lot through the course of the show...for anyone who hasn't been to HDDR it's a very interactive dinner show. We had to get up and dance with all of the other couples there celebrating, which was better than I expected...people kind of moved their chairs out of the way so we had room which was nice.

Here is us dancing to the tun of "Oh my darling Clementine":

One of the main actors came over to chat with us a bit, and I said "I get that we're going to draw a bit of attention and that you guys will pick on us some, but please please please don't make me get onstage...I have been up since 4 AM and am so worn out!" He said "No problem!"

and then.....

not even 10 minutes later....

He comes over and says "We need the most beautiful woman here to come play the part of our can-can dancer in the show...would you please do us the honor?" Sigh....so yeah, I had to get onstage in my dress...funny enough, my sister's boyfriend at the next table got picked to play the Indian brave too...he was a riot!

So I get backstage and it's all hustle and bustle, and they run over and tell me my line and what I have to do, then he comes over and straps this velcro feather headband to my head! I almost cried - I said to the guy "In case you haven't noticed my HAIR is done...and I have ANOTHER PHOTO SHOOT in 2 hours!!!" He looked super guilty and said "Oops..." sheepishly...I couldn't really be mad because you could tell he just wasn't thinking...so I let it go. I honestly had no idea till I saw the pictures what he had strapped to my head (it was a huge pink feather).

So during my part I had to get out there and do the can-can in my dress and flip flops (all the while just hoping not to pass out on stage) and then when queued say "I can't do that, I'm to em-baaaarrrrrr-essed" (one of many bear puns in the show). I made it through, and it was all pretty funny apparently.

Me dancing and acting a fool:

Delivering my one line (I love how he looks like he is willing me to get it right and I look drunk):

And finally taking a bow:

After HDDR I realized I had forgotten to find out from Amy where to meet our cars to get to the dessert party (we got a car for the bridal party, and one for our parents). This was the one and only thing that "went wrong" all day - and it was not her fault...she tried to tell me the plan at the reception but I got distracted and flitted away...and forgot to flit back...anyways, we asked around and the cast members said that the general consensus was that I should head on the internal bus to the main lodge...they all seemed quite stressed about my taking the bus to get there...I said "That's how we got here!" - they all thought that was hilarious!

So over at the main lodge I headed in and asked if we were in the right spot. They had no idea, but said if the car service doesn't show up , we'll find someone to drive you! I love Disney for this reason - they are just so awesome to deal with....No worries though, 10 minutes later our cars showed up to take us over to EPCOT!!!

Up next, Dessert Party...

I LOVE that you rode the bus. Love, love, love. Also love the unconventional dinner. Thanks for showing some options for us Disney Brides!

HAHA - I knew there was someone out there who was a) still reading and b) would love the whole bus thing!!

It was all fantastic, as I've said many times I wouldn't change a thing!
