Yes, starting over is certainly an option considering almost all of 2009 is filled so it would be easy to move forward. Post #1 lists who is signed up and the dates that are still open.

If someone wants to take over this swap and collect funds for a new fridge just let me know.

I wish that I were closer so that I could look in all 3 storage rooms for myself because I truly believe that it is there. When I went in August I KNEW that the fridge had been left just hours earlier for me. The castmember spent all of 10 seconds looking and came back and said "sorry". I was persistant and upped my voice a level and it caught the attention of another, more helpful, castmember who went back in the storage room and promptly returned with the fridge and coffee maker and even helped me load it into my rental car.

I wish I had enough time to take over the swap... eeyoregon I can only imagine how much time and energy you put into this to help make all of our vacations a success!

If anyone is able to take this over I would be willing to chip in for a new fridge if the old one has not been found. I tried looking at other swaps but most of them are filled up for the summer months

Thanks so much to eeyoregon for all her hard work keeping this a successful swap for so long. Hopefully, the old fridge will be located and we can find a way to continue with our current swappers. If not, maybe we can all chip in a few bucks each for a replacement fridge, and then eeyoregon can pass the torch to another wonderful DIS'er who has the time to run the swap.

Any volunteers? That seems to be the trouble of it. I can't believe Gina did it for 2 years and from Oregon!
Maybe if amandaraye gets time when she is there and DEMANDS to have it found, or that Jen can help, we might get it back? I know, probably slim chance.. Think positive!

Oh, believe you me I can be VERY demanding and I will do my best to find the fridge when I arrive as well. I'm meeting 10 other ppl when I get there so I won't have tons of time, but I'll sure try! Darn it when ppl can't follow directions and the rest of us lose out.
HUGE thanks to Eeyoregon for all she's done for this swap. It's a boatload of works, I'm sure!

I heard from missteach again. She has checked with all 3 resorts and our fridge is not to be found.

I really appreciate the nice thank you's that you all have given! I like doing it because I like helping others..even if it's just a trivial little fridge swap. I really do hope that it is found. By then I may have gotten over my annoyance with the disappearance of it and will consider continuing on as swap leader. I was hoping to move a bunch of you to my other swap but only a few of the dates were open on that one.

Keep your eyes open when you are down there and DON'T be afraid to LOOK FOR YOURSELF because it IS allowed !!

no luck on the phone today. Tho, when asking about it...it was just moments and they were back saying it wasn't there. I was asking for it in the box with the purple tape. Is there any chance that the box was disposed of? I didn't know what kind/color fridge it was so I wasn't able to move forward with that idea.

When it was handed over to the bell hop it was in it's box.

The best bet would be for an upcoming swapper (or several swappers) to look for themselves as many castmembers invest about 4 seconds looking and it's not until you insist that it's there that you get any cooperation.

Page #1 gives you the names of all of the swappers in case anyone wants to switch over.

For those that aren't aware of the new DIS rules regarding swaps, please read the following:

!!! PLEASE READ!!! Important News Regarding Swaps & Shares!!!

"It has always been a rule on the DIS that anything involving money changing hands between members was not permitted on the boards. With that in mind, a decision has been made to end all swaps and shares that include money passing between DISers.

What does this mean?
Beginning today, all Photopass shares requiring a payment are over on the DIS. No new paid Photopass shares can be started.
Threads for existing Photopass shares will be locked on Friday of this week. Any new threads will be deleted beginning today unless they are offering the Photopass Share at no charge to participants.
Fridge and stroller swaps that are free can continue. However, if a refrigerator/stroller is lost or damaged, the swap leader cannot collect money from members to replace the lost/damaged item. Swaps may continue if an item is donated for the use of subsequent share members.
No new fridge or stroller swaps will be permitted to start unless the fridge/stroller is a donated item and the swap is free to all participants.
Any fridge or stroller swap that is not free to new members will be closed on Friday of this week. This will allow those leaders of swaps that are currently collecting money to decide whether they are willing/able to offer their swap for free. I didn't hear anything from Amandaraye so I am assuming our little fridge has gone to a happier place and I will be asking the mods to lock/close this thread. I am sincerely happy that this swap continued for so long and that so many DIS'ers took it serious. I appreciated getting to use the fridge last year and hope that it was of benefit to the many others that used it. Wishing you all magical trips to the World.
