Hello,
I am seeking recommendations for a romantic/quiet restaurant that will allow for conversation without yelling over the crowds. V & A is beyond my budget and I want to stay out of the Parks. California Grill is not available for my dates. Thanks for your input!

I agree with Artist Point. That's why I'm so sad to see it change. We had our 30th anniversary there. The manager met us and escorted us to our table, gave us personalized menus, champagne toast, amuse bouche, lovely table view, quiet. Perfect experience

Not my favorite, but Citricos fits what you are looking for and generally isn't overly crowded.
I would also conside Jikos, after 8 pm, less crowded.
If you like Italian, Il Mulino at the Swan is very good,
For seafood, Flying Fish is a very good choice.
Have read good things about Bluezoo, trying it in 3 weeks.

I second Citrico's- it has this almost candlelight glow to the entire place and it never seems to get overly noisy or crowded. Its also right next door to Victoria and Albert's, so its the "closest" you can get to dining there, physically speaking! lol

All joking aside, its a nice place to have a quiet romantic meal. Wherever you decide to go, enjoy!

If you really want California Grill, don't give up hope. Reservations get changed all of the time. Keep checking. Now, if you can't get into Cali Grill, I can tell you that Yachtsman is outstanding. Flying Fish is another one. And it actually, in my book, edges out Yachtsman. Well, today anyway. Tomorrow, Yachtsman might have my vote. LOL. I guess it just depends on the day. The decor in Flying Fish is absolutely stunning. Would make for a romantic evening. And a stroll along the Boardwalk afterward.

The most romantic setting can be trashed in seconds w rude diners. What menu do you like best?
Have you looked at the swolphin restaurants? They can be less busy since they accept no dining plans

The off the beaten path restaurants may be your best bet for quiet

We had a late Monsieur Paul reservation on our honeymoon - I think it was around 9 pm on a night Epcot had EMH and there was only one other group in the restaurant. We had a great window seat overlooking Epcot and a nice quiet dinner. Both the service and food were great.

My faves for a quiet adult dinner: Jiko, bluezoo and Citrico's.

Do not do Cal Grill for a quiet, romantic dinner. The restaurant is frequently filled with families making time waiting for the fireworks, so it can get loud with lots of activity. Don't get me wrong - I love the food at Cal Grill, but I go there for the food, not the ambience.

We have enjoyed quiet dinners later in the evening at Jiko, and at Flying Fish. Artist Point is also great for a quiet, romantic meal... if it's available/not a character meal when you go!

Jiko - Good food, lovely ambiance, nice wine list, superb service.
Artist Point - I only recommend this if you can go within the next month or so. It was one of the very top restaurants for a romantic meal; however, they've announced it's turning into a character meal with a prix fixe menu, so I wouldn't bother after the change (restaurant closes sometime in early Nov). If you're going soon, then it's hard to beat the atmosphere, the views (ask for window seat), and the grounds of the Lodge after for a romantic stroll. My wife and I have very emotional attachment to the place, so we're quite peeved it's changing. Character meals equals romantic.
Il Mulino - Not as appealing as the first two, but a good choice. Other Swalphin restaurants are safe choices, too.
BiCE - It's a 15-minute drive or so to the Portofino Hotel, but it's well worth the visit. Topnotch Italian, a touch upscale, excellent wine list, great service.

As another said, I wouldn't sweat CA Grill. While a fun place to go on occasion, I've never found it romantic--too loud, too boisterous.

Absolutely agree with this!! We were just at Narcoossee’s 2 weeks ago. We were seated a bit below a table of 5: grandparents, mother & 2 boys, maybe about 7 or 8. They were playing some kind of game as they waited for their food & got horribly loud with laughing & cheering. Totally obnoxious. Louder than other tables with toddlers. Saw at people for at least 4 other tables shooting dirty looks their way. Didn’t quiet down til their food came.

I loved the atmosphere at Citrico’s the one time we ate there. But sadly we weren’t that fond of the menu, so we haven’t been back. Love Yachtsman’s. Always our choice for a relaxing, romantic type meal.
