Nassau Dolphin Excursion

Has anyone swam with the dolphins during the Nassau excursion? I think there are 2 different ones- an "encounter" and an actual swim with the dolphins. Is this correct?
Was it a good experience?

We did the Encounter a few weeks ago, and booked it through DCL. The encounter was good for us because DS is a bit timid and not very sure of himself in the water. With the Encounter, you only go into the water up to your waist and interact with the dolphin prompting him to doing "tricks". DS definately enjoyed it. I had wished I had done it with him. Depending on the size of the group you are with, you could have anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes with the dolphin.

We watched the Dolphin swim, and yes, you do get into the water and swim with them - and it looked fantastic. Not for my DS - but it looked great.....at one point the dolphin pushes you across the lagoon area - fast - that has to be a great feeling....

My only annoyance with the whole thing was the price they charged you for the video - too steep at $48 - and of course, as an observer with the camera, you don't get the best spot to shoot....

My wife and I made ressies for the dolphin swim in Freeport through DCL for sake we could be refunded if canceled two days prior or bad weather. DCL does not offer the dolphin swim in Nassau, only the encounter. You will have to make ressies to www.dolphinswims.com . Just a note that the dolphin swim in Freeport does not do the footpush, however, Nassau does. Nassau is cheeper also.

we did the dolphin encounter. DD#1 had a blast, DD#2 was a little more scared (she was 8 at the time) I thought it was a lot of fun. My only problem was I was very sick at the time, (food poisoning while still on land, long story!) so I wasn't completely 100% ok, but I still enjoyed it. If you're less adverturous, this is the excursion for you!


DD#1's friend went on the "Dolphin swim" and said that it was fun, but when they push you around, if you have a 2 piece swimsuit on, be very careful you might have to hold it up!
