Nestle chocolate chips different?

Last time I made chocolate chip cookies I had to buy Nestle chips instead of my usual store brand, and I noticed the chips tasted much different than they used to. They had a softer texture and an unusual, almost fruity, aftertaste. While they weren't terrible, they weren't good either, especially since they cost twice as much as the store brand. I was wondering if anyone knew if Nestle had changed their chocolate recently?

Could it be that you accidentally got milk chocolate instead of semi sweet? I made cookies once that tasted different and I finally figured out that's what I had done.

Supercook chips seem to have disappeared over here:confused3 I've bought Waitrose own (FWIW)
