Non-Disney Dining Recommendations

Hi All, we're headed back to WDW in September, staying on property but like to venture out into the surrounding areas in the car. Any recommendations for places to eat? Already have Cracker Barrel and Longhorn Steakhouse on the list, we're not opposed to chain restaurants. Thanks.

We have just returned from a 3 week visit and Longhorns was a favourite. Sweet tomatoes was an enjoyable salad and soup buffet and very reasonable, made a change.

We also enjoyed The Ale House, Bahama Breeze and the Town Tavern at Celebration.

As you have a car go to The Golden Coral on Hwy 50 An All you can eat Buffet steaks etc dinner for about $ 25 each

Drive to Hwy 192 West to join Hwy 27 North towards Clearmont after about 18 miles TURN RIGHT onto Hwy 50

Going EAST ( towards Orlando ) After LESS than a Mile You will see Golden Coral on RIGHT ( OPP Gas Station )

This is a NON Touristy place loved by locals

Also try Manny's Chop House on Hwy 192 West ( on your Left after going under 1st Bridge )

We love the Melting pot on sandlake Rd. It's not cheap but because it's fondue it's a whole evening experience which we like because some American restaurants can be a bit rushed. The set menu is a great option, and includes a cheese fondue as starter, a broth or oil fondue as main, and chocolate as pudding.

TuTu Tango on I Drive is another favourite. It's Tapas style but you can order then eat, then order some more till you are full.

Check out the Dr Phillips area, very close to Universal Studios, they have some great restaurants - First Watch is great for breakfast, there's Rocco's Tacos, as well as quick service places like Tijuana Flats and Huey Magoos.

There are multiple Shack Shake and Five Guys locations around which serve great burgers.
