So I mentioned about a month ago I was going to start with a DSLR (never done it before). I played with it on our cruise (using all Manual mode, cause I want to learn). Anyways, these were a few of my favorites (I know they aren't anything great, but hey, I'm learning as I go):

I really like the second shot! And good for you learning to use Manual mode.

Thanks. I was playing with manual on the point and shoot, but was ready to go bigger. Found my parents OLD Nikon (film), so took it and the lenses, and got a compatible DSLR. Have to do aperture by hand anyways, so figured might as well play with the other settings on manual. Only way to learn. With Irma rolling around while we were on our cruise (though never got super close), we had some cool clouds to take pictures of. Gotta admit I thought it was a blast. Now it's just finding time to play with it even more.
