Platinum but First Time Concierge

We have never experienced being carted out to the cabanas. Have sailed concierge 6 times.
We also never experienced that in our 8 times having a cabana, and we were never offered the service.

Wasn't offered to us. We asked and received. This was on our 8 nighter last Oct 2019. Most may have never been offered and extra deck chair either. Was responding to the OP that there are a lot of little things you may be unware of unless you ask.

Hmm....both times we were escorted on a golf cart to our cabana. We didn’t request it and we didn’t have mobility issues. Maybe it just has to do with staffing/number of cabanas in use/etc.....

From the check-in or from the ship. They usually want to cart you from the check-in hut to the cabana, but that’s after the tram ride (or the walk in our case)

I didn’t want to leave the Concierge lounge on the Dream. It was so peaceful. And I loved having the unique food offerings; such a little thing, but it was my 10th DCL sailing and I pretty much ate the same thing each trip. My favorite was a deconstructed Caesar salad.

Congratulations. Hope it is that bow on top for you.

definitely not from the ship....I think it was after the check in hut. I cant exactly recall I just know both times we arrived at our cabana via golf cart :).

Thank you both. My DH loves Caesar salad (I'm allergic to eggs). He will certainly enjoy this. Last night it dawned on me, now that we are Concierge, no need to lug the 2 bottles of wine and 6-pack in our luggage. Another advantage with Concierge! So many things that will make this voyage very exciting.

A golf cart from the check-in hut to the ship is typical. Once, we left a medication on board and didn't realize it until we reached the cabana. That time, they did have someone take me in a golf cart back to the ship and wait while I ran up to get the medicine, then drive me back to the cabana. It was a very helpful perk that time.

Anything else we should know how concierge differs from platinum?
Two suggestions:

1) You can let them know if there are things you would like to have in your room ahead of time, such as particular sodas (Coke brands only) in the fridge, or a particular flavor of Powerade. We have also requested and received a bag of tortilla chips from the kitchen. Also, don't be afraid to get numerous bottles of water from concierge to keep in your room and take on excursions.

2) Once on board, take any requests or issues to the concierge staff. Need to change a spa reservation? Concierge staff. Want to change excursions? Concierge staff. Would like to have your picture frame or other item signed by the captain? Concierge staff. They can work some magic for you if you ask.

We also never experienced that in our 8 times having a cabana, and we were never offered the service. However, a friend that was sharing one with us once had a broken foot. When the Concierge team learned about his injury, they organized a transport for him from the ship to the cabana even though he wasn’t sailing Concierge. Maybe it’s offered only to guests with mobility issues ?

we were brought a few times in a golf cart from the tram stop to our cabana but not from the ship. I am not sure if it was just because one of concierge hosts happened to be driving by and they knew us or if it’s a thing. Remember that technically not all people in the cabanas are in concierge rooms.

That’s thé standard service. We always get strange faces from the check-in CM when we decline the service. It doesn’t matter if you are Concierge or not when you get a Cabana. The Concierge hosts take care of you and everyone gets the same service for that day.

This is true for the Family Beach cabanas. The Serenity cabanas are serviced by other crew members.
