I have always said they have so much energy because they suck it out of us!!
That's what we say at work too....

@flyingdumbo127 can't help you with the tech stuff but hope you can get it figured out.

Drove up to the San Francisco Bay area with hubby yesterday, we'll be up here all week for his work. We got a suite type room, so I'm just staying in the hotel room while he's working, enjoying some quiet alone time after more than a week of company and having to just stay home for longer than I'm used to. :lovestruc We left home around 5:30pm and it was 105°....:crazy2: Its only 63° right now here in South SF....I love it. Nothing touristy is open but I just love to drive around and see the sights from the car so we'll do that after work and bring dinner back to the room. He was here for weeks last summer and I would drive up every couple weekends to see him and see the city so at least I'm not feeling like I'm missing out on much.

So at some point today hubs gave my stuffed animals masks. :rotfl: I walked in the living room, spotted them and couldn't stop laughing.
Very sweet and funny! 💙
Love this! Almost every day, Josh gives DH a stuffed "friend" to take to work. I thought DH just left them in the car, but apparently not, because one day he came home with a (bank-supplied) mask on the toy's face (I think it was Daniel Tiger). He wasn't the one who thought of it, though, it was one of the ladies with whom he works. Nice of her to think of Daniel... ;)

Josh had a dentist appointment this morning. It was...interesting. I love the dentist, I love the hygienists, but the desk staff really leaves something to be desired. I've felt this way since we started going there 4 years ago, too. They called at around 9:30 and wanted us to come in for 10 (the appointment was for 11:30). I don't have a car, and DH works 30 minutes away, plus it's another 15 minutes to the office, so we couldn't make it. I apologized and explained that, and the girl said, "Fine, we'll see you at 11:30, bye" in this really annoyed tone. Then when we got there, we had to call and answer about 20 questions about our exposure to the virus. THEN...another lady came out to take our temperatures, which made me nervous because it's been so hot and I'm always sweaty, so I thought for sure I was going to register as hot. So I opened my stupid mouth and said that - yeah, not 5 minutes after I told them that I didn't have a fever  - and the lady got this really weird look on her face. But I was only 97 degrees, thankfully! Waited some more and finally someone else came out to get us. Josh got his own little room, as the big room with 4 chairs is not being used right now. The dentist himself cleaned his teeth and we got a glowing review of our home care. Learned that since Josh got his first 2 teeth at 2 months and had 5 teeth by 4 months - REALLY early - he'll most likely be starting to lose his baby teeth early as well, definitely within the next year, possibly in about 6 months. So I need to get on Etsy and pick out a tooth fairy pillow as his last birthday gift! They tried to do x-rays but he couldn't get the hang of biting down and holding the thing in his teeth, so we'll try again next time. Then I had to make his next appointment at the desk and I think the same girl who'd called earlier was the one who spoke to me. I asked for a late afternoon appointment because he'll be in school and they don't get out until 3:30. She grudgingly gave me a 4 o'clock - at least his school is straight down the road; maybe we can pick him up that particular day (I've seen the car line at this school - I REALLY don't want to get involved in that).

While we were in the office, DH went and got him a Happy Meal at McDonald's. So that made him happy. We got to have lunch together at home, DH went back to work, and Josh and I watched Honey I Shrunk the Kids. We didn't get to our state project today, but we'll start tomorrow. After we make the zucchini brownies :)

Wish it would rain here. This morning, and for a while about 30 minutes ago, it got very dark and overcast. I thought I heard a rumble of thunder, too. But no, the sun is back out. We really need some rain here. The fire risk is extremely high right now.

Trying to decide what I want for dinner on Thursday. Normally we'd get my favorite, Chinese, but we just had that on the 4th. There's a good pirate-themed restaurant right near Josh's gymnastics center, but we'd rather actually go there for the ambiance as well as the food (and we don't want to dine indoors yet). I'm trying to psych myself up for Mexican, perhaps...or maybe I should request my favorite shrimp parmesan from our usual pizzeria. I haven't had that in a LONG time now.

Thanks, AuntieMe3, enjoy your time in SF--get some rest! I have not been up there in years myself but it always was fun to visit. :)

One other tech question....I continued to Google and saw another program called Recuva? Maybe that would work better than the Disk Drill? I don't know from the other that is for sure!

Aww, so sweet that Josh gives his dad a friend to take with him to work! Love that story. Thanks for sharing, apirateslifeforme! Glad all is well with Josh's teeth! :teeth: I am sorry the front desk person was rude to you. I had that experience a few times in the office of a so-called TMJ specialist who sadly himself was just awful to me. I was so Blessed to meet the doctor I did at the end. He was everything the first one was not! Treat yourself indeed to a favorite meal and take care, my friend.

@flyingdumbo127, I am no help. We have a computer guy.

@apirateslifeforme, I am glad the dentist appt went well. You discussed what to have for dinner on Thursday. I got confused because today is only Monday, at least I thought so.

Today I had my annual mammogram then started PT for my tailbone pain. I like the PT and hope she can figure things out for me. Then I grocery shopped and stopped at the library to pick up books on hold (one was Charlotte's Web). Figured I get all my exposures out of the house on the same day.

I think we need another
QOTD - What is a trivial pet peeve you have?

I was going to ask you biggest fear but reconsidered because it isn't a positive. Trivial pet peeve -- It bugs me when people use multiple ??? or !!!! in a text or email. Not sure why but drives me nuts.

I can't stand when people don't put things back where they got them......OCD doesn't like that.
DIL picks up the toys around here and just tosses them into any bin. I can't stand that.....everything has a special place.
The potato head bucket had a coaster in it today
Everyone just needs to stay out of my cupboards, drawers and pantry!

Thanks, Carol! I may try Recuva later and see if that does any good. I'm glad you have a computer guy! Pre plague, I might have been able to have had some techy church friends come help me. 🙏 your Mammogram results come back just fine and that the PT helps you my friend, too.

Meriweather, I, also try to stay organized! At church we have a supply closet for after Sunday service (different people each week bring a lite lunch or cookies+ drinks) I once took time and great care, even donated money as well to completely organize the mess that it was. It drove me crazy when people would open a NEW package of cups for example, complaining there were NO cups, when there was a good 100 cups in the labelled cup basket!

This could be a regional thing, but my trivial pet peeve is people I don't know calling me or my hubby 'sweety, honey, darling' etc. I am from NE originally and noone up there does that. In MD now, and too many people do it. We were at the Drs office 2 weeks ago, and the receptionist called every single person honey, I was ready to throw up after hearing that for 30 minutes!

I grew upin a little town where people did that, and now I live in New England. It took some adjusting in reverse as well!

Nox, I hear you on pens and forgot all about that! Pre-plague I was the person who would make sure each pew holder had prayer cards+ pens+ offering envelopes in it. You would think these were fancy pens not just from the 99 cent only store, the way they would vanish each week. Sometimes, the top would be missing but the pen present other times, vice versa, never did figure that out!

Oops...I'm trying to think if I've done it on this post but I'm a ??? !!!! .... in texts or FB. :rolleyes1

My pet peeve would be in regards to my bed....lol. My hubby lays in bed and for some strange reason starts flailing about, messing up the sheets blankets before falling asleep and then has his arms outside the blanket on a lockdown. I go to lay down and I'm like what the heck happened here and because of his arms, I can't usually get them straightened out without waking him up. I need my side in order before I can get comfy, and usually I can't even find a corner....:sad2::laughing:

Thanks for trying, AuntieMe3, I really appreciate it! I did try that Recuva and it was worse than the first one :( I'm still at a loss as to what to do. There has to be some way to undo the damage especially since the first Drill Drive or whatever it was called found all the files. I had wanted to reach out to all of you in this lovely thread with an idea I had about some of the content, too. So extra frustrating to have possibly lost it for good. Meantime, I will post in general here on the CB and maybe asking more folks might result in a solution! Can't hurt :) ETA: Great news, I found them! :) I'll get to thinking about what I wanted to share with all of you and do that either later or tomorrow.

Guess what? I am on altar guild at my church and have to check the pew pads on the weekend we are assigned, plus place the flower arrangements on the altar and hymn numbers on the boards. I think we live parallel lives.

It's ok. I won't hold that against you. My sister-in-law, an elementary teacher, does it all the time and drives me nuts.

@Meriweather you said it perfectly.🌻
I agree, and I think most women feel the same about their kitchens.

In other news, a friend of mine's daughter and SIL had a sweet baby boy over the weekend. In the midst of all the craziness these days it's a lovely blessing. 💙

Dinner was pasta and meatballs, followed by a walk and a couple of episodes of Cash Cab. 😊
Wishing you all a nice evening. :flower:

I do '??????????' sometimes, intended for dramatic/comedic effect. But that is strictly in texts to friends, and again, it's on purpose to humorously indicate confusion.

For example:

"Evie has started sleeping with her head shoved inside my open briefcase (????????) with the rest of her little body stretched outside of it."

(Evie is my youngest kitty, by the way.)

I have a very trivial pet peeve. It is people saying "look like". I am such a nerd because I can hear that phrase coming in a sentence before the person even says it. Example: "...we will know what next year's band competitions might look like". We might also know more about "what the opening of school might look like". Is it completely necessary to work that phrase into everything you say? :rolleyes2

I seem to hear it a lot at work, anybody involved with my step-daughter's school (especially the band director), and the news. I know it is soooo trivial and petty, and I am probably the only one who even notices it.
