Radisson Resort Parkway

Bumping up .....

I am too considering this hotel. I drove by it in January and it looked pretty nice. I think I read good things about it on the DIS. I am considering this Radisson since ALL my preferred off-site places (Hampton Inn LBV, Castle Doubletree, Hawthorn SeaWorld, Fairfeild Inn Lake Byran), are completely booked in May on my dates (May 15-18) ... . so I am forced to look for a new nice, off-site hotel that has a reasonable price. :)

Love it there! Have stayed there three times. They have newly redecorated, as I have read on the website. The pool is large. It is not easy to get a lounge chair. They have had a live band play by the pool when we were there. Our room and the pool were very clean. Room service was slow, but good food. Enjoyed tennis, right on the grounds. Enjoy! You will not be disappointed.

We stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed it. If you can't stay in Disney it is a good choice. Their Breakfast was great with a chef making omlets your way. The kids got a kick out of that. The pool is big with a slide and waterfall. There was also a kids pool and a quiet pool. The grounds were lush with foliage.

I have been there 3 times, most recently in 2000. It is a nice place. Pools are great but the large pool with the slide and waterfall is NOT heated. Grounds are beautiful. Breakfast buffet was great. Rooms are small and needed updating when we were there but some of that may have been done. Location is nice and 192 is finally fixed at that end. Quick drive to Disney. Make sure you get a good deal on the nightly charge (no more then $79).

just need 1 nite before reservations at wdw start. how far from downtown disney and what are the rates? i am member of entertainment (disney club)
thanks,

I booked through Dreams Unlimited Travel (look up at the top of this post, they advertise through this site) and received a great rate of $69 (great for spring break). This rate beat AAA, and Entertainment, and Expedia.

Mike, the radisson is on route 192 off of exit 25A on Route 4. The main Downtown Disney enterance is Route 535 off of exit 27. The resort is right next to route 4. I would guess the drive would take about 10 minutes if there wasn't any traffic. Nightly rental prices vary depending on the time of year. I think $80 a night is what you should shoot for.

My husband and I will be making our first trip together to WDW Apr 27 - May 3. We are booked at the Radisson Resort Parkway for the entire time. Everything I have read about it sounds great and at $69/night thanks to Mousesavers.com, its quite a bargain! If you go on the Radisson website you can get great 360 degree views of many of the hotel features....the pool area looks FABULOUS! Also in the Unofficial Guide to WDW 2002, the Radisson Resort Parkway is ranked very high....higher than MANY of the Disney Deluxe hotels. That made me feel really great about this choice. So many people keep saying that you MUST stay onsite, but with this cheap a rate and quality accomodations, with the extra money I'll save, I'll be making my own "Disney Magic". We can't wait for our trip. I was at WDW as a young child so this is my first time going as an adult. This is my husbands first time! We Can't Wait!!

Pug Mom, I think you will have a good time and will like the Radission. Another thing to consider, they attract a lot of groups so sometimes it can get noisy. We had a 13 year old softball team on our floor once. If you are going with your husband you might want to ask for a quiet area away from any groups when you check in. I've stayed on site twice and off site 12 times and I like the fact that my dollar goes so much further with the off site accomodations. Have fun.

Pug Mom- I am sure you will enjoy your stay here. I have stayed at a WDW resort, and left after the first night to find a hotel off site. We were disappointed, I guess we expected more from Disney. We have visited Orlando and all the parks several times, and only stayed at a WDW resort once. You really don't have to stay at WDW to enjoy the "magic". We have paid as much as $99.00 a night for the Radisson Pkwy. You have got yourself quite a deal. ENJOY! Have a great time.

This resort I think is still undiscovered by most. Appearance wise--it is teriffic--very tropical, clean, and up-to-date. Beautiful landscaping, nice lobby, renovated rooms, very good breakfast buffet, kids eat free, etc. It has transportation to WDW and Universal/Sea World, too at specified times. My only complaints would be 1) that the last shuttle returns at 10pm when MK is open until 11pm. Why they do this, I have no idea. It would be nice to have a shuttle late so you could stay to see Fantasmic, go to MK late, or Disney Quest or Downtown Disney late. Also, although their amenities are many, their service is somewhat lacking. Not bad, just nothing to write home about. In my opinion, if their service was even a little bit better, this would be a 175/night place. I don't mind so much though. I'm not there to socialize with the staff.

Just returned from 2 night stay here 3/18/02-3/19/02. If your going to stay at the resort for a time, and take advantage of their great pools and beautiful landscaping, this is a great place. Inside was just a normal hotel room, but was nice and clean. Location was great and quite a few restraunt choices around.

If you are going to spend most of your time at the parks, go for a less expensive hotel.
