I am back from WDW and said I would review this Behind the Scenes Tour... We got off to a rocky start as we were unclear to where we were suppose to go... actually we were told to show up at Guest Relations inside Epcot, which we did.. but somehow this woman who seemed to be in authority told us to go stand somewhere else.... good thing I realized after waiting a bit in this wrong place that we needed to find out from someone else where we should be. You pay for this upfront and there are no refunds so it is important to be in the right place. She had nothing to do with this Tour, just was moving us out of the way to do what she had to do.. which was something else Disney related.

Now it was a walking tour of the countries, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes.... we did some backstage touring as well.. especially in Canada, I do not want to give any secrets away but it had to do with the "huge mountain" and the trees growing on that "mountain" .....We talked a bit about the totem poles and how Disney had commissioned a specialist in that area to construct them and the story they tell...

My husband enjoys these tours as he finds he likes the break from just doing the rides and eating, thankfully this was a good walking tour, working off some of those calories.. LOL... and of course there is a lot more to WDW and we try to do a tour each time we come.. we discussed how Disney constructed the countries' buildings and the way they sort of trick us to imagine that buildings are really bigger than they are... We were backstage also in France, which we found intriguing as this trip the Eiffel Tower was being refurbished so we got to see it being worked on and repainted backstage....We did see it back up in its place in France our last morning at WDW..

Our Tour Guide Mark was very informative and kept us entertained with lots of interesting tidbits and some Disney jokes to go with it......We talked about the gardens, not in depth, but the setting up of them and how they are maintained... Also, the histories of the buildings and how they were to interpret different historical periods in the Countries they represent... from early times to almost modern times... In Morocco, we spent some time discussing the input of the King of Morocco in the building of this country for World Showcase... he had his own craftsmen come over to do all the mosaics that you see there, part of the reason the building of Morocco took so long... he wanted to represent his country well.. The next time you are visiting that country just remember all the work that went into all that tiling..

I suppose I could go on and on.....but there is a lot to this tour and too much to put here... if you have any questions, I will try and answer them... I did think it was worth the money, we both enjoyed it immensely as World Showcase is one of our favorite locations in WDW.. It was interesting to hear Disney's idea on placement of the American Pavillion as the host Country... but I do not want to tell everything that I learned...it would spoil your tour when you take it. ;)

So far we have done Keys to the Kingdom and the Behind the Scenes at World Showcase......I am not sure which one we will do next but we do like the breaking up of the vacation with a little Disney education..
