"Serve Me Well, Sister" *Mickey's Halloween Party 2010* (1/15): Villainous photoshoot

PART 4b: Character Cavalcade (In your face!)

SO I'm back for Part B! This time I'll actually talk about the parade. The decision making process is always a huge production in our crazy circle, so I always feel like I have a lot of explaining to do.

After our spontaneous villain encounter we hurried backwards through Fantasy Land to find a suitable viewing location for the Character Cavalcade. It was just about to start so I was lamenting that we would probably get stuck behind 10 rows of strollers, however we actually found a fabulous little spot! It was on the edge of the hub right before you go down that path running between Matterhorn and Alice.

We heard some distant insanity and pretty soon this thing rolled into view and we were officially invited to Mickey's Costume Party:

This was sort of a weird float, but when that great mirror passed us by, Angie and I just loved it and began to dance wildly:

The parade was organized in a pretty cute way, with a special giant pumpkin escorting each group of characters:

The Princesses! Belle was awesome and was enthusiastically signing all sorts of funny phrases to Kendra/Belle:

The cowboy/cowgirl segment!

Bullseye ran over and totally ignored us so he could wave to a 2-3 yro little boy sitting on the curb next to us. No reaction. Ah yes, the attention span of a toddler apparently doesn't have the capacity for parades! I was getting quite jealous since we weren't getting nearly as much attention as this comatose little boy was getting until...

this crazy guy on stilts ran over to us, swung down until he was at eye level, and practically head-butted Suzanne!!! He made a funny, serious face and then whooshed back up to his previous height and ran away to pander to the crowd on the other side of the parade route. We were so stunned that no one even close to snapping a pic. Then, maybe 20 seconds later, crazy stilt guy struck again! It was truly as surprising as it was the first time! A second head-butt! What in the Disney World???

My favorite group: the Country Bears!

And the final float w/ Mickey up at the front:

I refused to take a pic of Mickey when he was closer b/c he just freaks me out sometimes. I recovered when I got a personal greeting from my favorite, Pluto:

Donald was partying 'til it was 1999!

And the back of that float starring this great rooster (Panchito look alike?):

Suzanne was obviously still stunned from the head-butting incident. Plus I caught that crazy person on the right just staring down someone like there was no tomorrow. Pretty funny.

After the cavalcade passed we strolled directly behind it so we could be sure to be the first in line for the upcoming villain meet and greet! It felt like we were staring at that poor rooster for weeks! I'm sure that the rooster felt the same way. Those costumed character CMs must have some pretty great stories.

During this never ending stroll I filmed the chaotic goings ons. If you take a look at the clip then, no, I have no idea who that absolutely insane scream/warble belonged to.

Next time, the villains!!!!

I love following the parades too. It's such a great trick to have an enjoyable walk to an attraction that the crowds are blocked from while the parade goes by. Sorry you had to be have bad rooster dreams for a week to pay for your walk.

Hahaha it wasn't too bad! I bet the rooster was pretty sick of us, too!

PART 5: "Serve me well, sister"

Hello old friends!! I've been dreadfully negligent w/ this Halloween TR! I certainly would've properly completed it before the new year but I was ensconced in my WDW Christmas vacation! Check it out if you like- the link to the new TR is in my sig. And may I add that I was always so very offended when various people would claim that Cinderella Castle was far superior to Sleeping Beauty Castle but once I saw for myself... I couldn't stop staring at that thing! I was literally looking over my shoulder at the castle almost the whole time I was trolling through the MK.

Anyway, now for the segment of this TR that inspired the glorious title.

So after the Character Cavalcade we trailed the rear float and spilled out into the villains queue. Powerpoint ushered us right on in and Kendra was thrilled. Our first stop was the Evil Queen, which was perfect since Suzanne was Snow White for the evening. Angie was just speechless:

I was next and I wound up having a rather long conversation w/ the Queen, which I definitely wasn't expecting!

dis03_039.jpg

Amongst other things, she asked if I had any evil plans in store for Snow White and motioned to Suzanne. Perhaps I was building a spindle in the shape of an apple? At that I completely exploded into laughter. You know that kind of laugh- when your eyes bug out and one looks bigger than the other? That's me:

dis03_040.jpg

The Queen was simply delighted to speak w/ Suzanne/Snow White. She insisted that Suzanne run all sorts of errands for her and told her to mop the floor.

dis03_041.jpg

Suzanne, far wiser than the original Snow White, wouldn't fall for it and refused. The Queen was terribly irritated:

The Queen had had just about enough of all these princesses for the evening:

So we moved on to Maleficent, who actually really freaked me out. She had a Maleficent stage voice that was right on and she was wearing these creepy contacts that made her eyes shine yellow and gold.

Alice and Maleficent:

dis03_044.jpg

It was finally my turn and I had no idea what to say or what to do exactly! I knew I'd have to say something! Maleficent started chatting about all of the evil tasks I had hopefully accomplished and various related topics. I unfortunately don't recall anything more specific than that since I was too busy snickering like a 10 yr old child the whole time. I was too dumbfounded to think up a proper pose:

dis03_045.jpg

After the photo I started inching away from this crazy character and she paused and questioned: "Are you frightened, child?" "Hahaha well, sort of...!" And I ran for it. "Serve me well, sister," she trilled.

Belle and Snow White were obviously far more frightened of Maleficent than I was:

Phew! Hanging w/ villains is so stressful!

I think next time you will need the expressive eyebrows to match your namesake.

Yay, you've come back to this TR! I have to say I keep being more and more impressed with the Halloween party DL put on; good stuff! There's no way I could have met those villains. I'm afraid just looking at your pics. :scared1:

:rotfl: I love the "serve me well" comment! I'm impressed that you posed with those scary characters solo. :scared1: I certainly would have refused! (Although I get freaked out by the awkwardness of meeting all characters who are not masked and are able to talk!)

I love how the villains interacted with you girls! :)
I haven't been to Disneyland yet, but I'm planning to go this summer! Although, I did go to Disneyworld's Halloween party last year. I met Captain Hook while I was dress as Pan and he walked away from me shaking his head! :rotfl:
