Steph & Patrick-7/21/18-Wishes Wedding-Wedding Pavilion/Cali Grill

So, this is well over a year late, but better late that never right?

We wrote some articles for This Fairy Tale Life as we were going through the planning process, so you can read more about our wedding here: https://thisfairytalelife.com/fairy-tale-walt-disney-world-wedding/

Our wonderful photographer Jess Collin also blogged our wedding on her website: http://jesscollinsphotos.com/disney-fairytale-wedding-steph-patrick/.

We used Trinity Wedding Cinema for our videography and our short film can be seen online too:

Our wedding was perfect - everything was planned came together in exactly the right way. I'm really glad that I ended up adding the motorcoach transportation; I think people would have struggled to figure out the monorail. I didn't end up adding back the aisle runner and I'm at peace with that decision. It would have been nice to have, but I like the look of the wedding pavilion without all of the decoration.

Right before our wedding, Disney Floral called and wanted to give a special floral upgrade - a fabric arch with floral. I originally said yes, then called my husband who correctly surmised what was actually happening - a wedding right after ours had this elaborate floral piece they were worried about having enough time to assembly so they wanted to set it up before our wedding. He was pissed. We ended up not having it - although I've since seen the structure in a lot of the Disney promotion pictures - and I definitely think that was the right decision.

One of the things we did that I don't see discussed much is that we had a hosted, private event farewell breakfast. We did it at the Whitehall Room. It was one of my favorite events of the whole wedding. Such a fun low-key way to celebrate with family and friends the day after. We looked into a character breakfast, but I think it would have been a little too chaotic.

My advice for other Disney Brides? Push your planner if there is something you really want and they tell you no. They do so many weddings and they definitely have a script they follow. Anything that deviates from that tends to be a "no" at first. If you politely have a dialogue with them but firm with what you're asking, they tend to become more flexible. It might not be exactly what you want, but it might not be the hard no either. I think it's too much money to spend to not advocate for what you really want.

Oh, and California Grill as PHENOMENAL food. It's worth dealing with the menu restrictions.

Beautiful!!! So happy everything went well for you both. Congratulations!!!!!!! Loved the video.

You mentioned you had a breakfast the next morning for your guests. Were they all staying at the same resort? Did you guarantee so many? Ask your guests before hand if they would come to the breakfast?

My dd's wedding is coming up. We have about 50 guests - most are staying on site and some off-site. Was not sure if I should attempt a quick continental breakfast or something in the morning.

Pretty much all of our guests were staying off-site! We did ask them to RSVP to the breakfast, but we didn't have to guarantee a certain number off people to Disney - we just had to meet the food/beverage minimum expenditure for the room.

I really liked having the private breakfast after and would definitely recommend it!

Thank you. I know it would be nice. Not sure if it's too late in the game now to start dealing with RSVPs again. Not sure my dd is up for it now too. We just had the shower.......we are all pretty stressed out by now.......

Hoping the wedding will be like the planner said.......you will be a guest a your own wedding :)

Thank you again, wishing you the best!!!!!
