The dining report that no longer was

I am probably abandoning the Edison in favor of Morimoto's on our next trip, but there are soooo many places I still want to try, it justifies a return visit!

Catching up on your report! I know you said Coronado wasn’t your cup of tea but all those gorgeous photos sure make me want to return there for a stay! I love their pools, the pool bar, and yes, even Rix Sports Bar ::yes:: As you noticed, there is just a serenity at certain parts of that resort that is hard to match in some of the more compact resorts.

The food reviews sure have me thinking! You even sold me on a Casey’s Corner hot dog. They took the foot long options off the menu but I may have to go for a classic chili dog loaded down with onions. Yum!!!

This post had me laughing out loud a few times. But first, your daughter is beautiful! I loved the wedding pics. Onto Mark, dear Lord I would not have been able to talk to him without laughing if that is what his mullet looked like!! Lastly, your description of your brother-in-law snoring is hilarious! I hoped he ended up getting checked out for sleep apnea.

What a wonderfully written review and pics! I am enjoying it very much. You and your sister are too cute. I cannot wait to read more!

t's very beautiful and grand, but not at the top of my list. It's not even in the middle.
I'm so on the same page. Its just so pristine and white its almost sterile looking. I need a bit more character and ruggedness in my hotels.

Grand Floridian Christmas tree December 1992
    That tree is HUGE!!!

A Disney wedding was out of the question no matter how many times I asked. An outdoor wedding on the lake was in, no matter how many times I may have mentioned the unpredictability of weather. Yep. Hurricane Joaquin made landfall here in NJ the day before her wedding, and the nasty weather stayed for the weekend.
Oh no, poor thing with the weather but glad it all ended ok. And at least she had a wedding. My mother had all of these grandiose notions for what she envisioned for me and I eloped to Vegas 😱

My brother Nick redid their beachfront walkway, and surprised them with this commemorative insert that he made for them!
    How sweet!

So our favorite was the egg salad and our least favorite was the poached pear. I guess we have pretty similar taste, as our favorites and least favorites were the same.
Yum! I do not like eggs but strangely like egg salad which I know makes no sense, but nevertheless I'd eat every single one of these!

e turned to him to be polite and say hello, and he introduces himself as Mark. Before you know it, we know his entire life, work, and Disney vacation history. This man could talk! Did I mention the mullet? No? Well, let me tell you, I thought I had been teleported back to the 1980's long hair band era!

OMG dying!!!!! I have no idea how you handled that as well as you did. I would have asked for another table or told him and his mullet where to go. Not very high tea of me, but well I'm not very high tea :earboy2:

My favorite part of the dessert was the scone with the clotted cream, lemon curd and strawberry jam. I want that right now! I'm not a huge sweets eater, and like more biscuity type desserts, and I LOVE lemon, so the scone and lemon curd was right up my alley. So so so good!
Yum! This sounds so good. I'm a sucker for lemon just like you.

Sorry I'm not able to be more descriptive. I solemnly promise for my next dining report I will take notes, although they won't be as much fun to read as @kastoney 's tipsy notes!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I just jot thoughts down in the notes app on my phone. They are rarely extensive but (unless they are tipsy) i usually have enough to piece it all back together.

I don't know how people say my sister & I resemble each other. I don't see it at all.
Oh I totally see it. Its all in the cheeks and chin!

Yum! This would be right up my alley

In the meantime, we can't have any conversation between us because, Mark. Oh, Mark also always get champagne with his tea. And he was staying at Pop although he has stayed at all the resorts, and he's a DVC member. Cool, so are we. He also brought up his mullet, and conceded that it was a little odd, but that he's had it forever, and he likes it, so he's keeping it. Okey dokey.
OMG this made me laugh. Very kind of you guys to humor good old Mullett Mark!

Very entertaining trip report so far! Your sister does look different from you, but I also see a definite family resemblance as well, if that makes any sense at all!

I love your flashback GF Xmas decor pictures! The tree was pretty and the gingerbread house......yeah, a little sad compared to today's lol.
For a long time I didn't think I wanted to stay there but then decided I wanted to try every resort. And if you remember, we were upgraded to the Roy suite on our very first stay there last year so of course I'm a fan! However the WL is still absolutely my favorite  we do have another stay at the GF coming up in Sept. so I'll see how much I like it not staying in the main building lol. Also in July we're staying at the last deluxe on my list, the Contemporary! Another one I've never had a huge desire to stay at but many of my DIS friends love it so we'll see. Looking forward to it.

Before you know it, we know his entire life, work, and Disney vacation history. This man could talk
OMG Steve would have NOT been happy!

I hope Mark isn't on these boards as I really don't want to offend him,
 you're staying nice things about him though too............

Face blocked for privacy purposes, although, at this point, I seriously doubt there are too many mullets like this walking around.
This is hysterical! Now I need to look for him on all my trips.

The tea is also something I want to to; a bunch of the ladies did it on our EPIC trip in May but it was on the day I left. It will have to be when the kids aren't with us but Steve has said he'll do it!

A little late, but I'm joining in!

Grand Floridian Christmas tree December 1992
    I like the colors!

Also you're daughter's wedding looked beautiful.

. I'm really not a hot tea drinker.
Same! I haven't done the tea yet, but I want to in the future. The only thing is I don't really like tea :rotfl:

This man could talk! Did I mention the mullet? No? Well, let me tell you, I thought I had been teleported back to the 1980's long hair band era!

Really enjoying your review... I hope you don’t mind if I ask, but the first necklace you bought, with the double mickeys...SO CUTE! Did you find it at CSR or do you think it is available elsewhere?

    Simply meant to be...
    Sep 27, 2002

We took the bus from Coronado to the MK, and then the monorail to the GF, so we took the elevator down from the second floor to get to the Tea Room. This gentleman on the scooter was in front of us, and I couldn't resist taking the picture. I was so lololol at his shirt! How true is that!

I NEED to get one of these shirts... lol.
