The most rock n roll lyrics in rock n roll

You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools,
But that's the way I like it baby
I don't want to live forever

Lemmy for the win. Nor will I concede that the song lost any of its edge when used to sell Kias in an ad featuring a CGI baby hamster. There's been worse. I mean - an Iggy Pop song about booze, drug addiction and a dead heroin dealer used to sell Carnival cruises? Or a Nathaniel Rateliff song about alcoholism and the pain of delirium tremens used to sell Lipton iced tea? Or Cold War Kids' "First" - a song about hitting rock bottom and trying to pull your life together - being used to sell Coors? Rock on. Maybe that's a SO thread - commercials using odd song choices.

Very nearly started with this one :)

Madman drummers bummers and Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older, I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasing sneezing and wheezing, the calliope crashed to the ground

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying the stairway to heaven

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying the stairway to heaven

Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But, in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on

3 pages and no "Fortunate Son?!" :rockband::rockband:

Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief"
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no

Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Is all my brain and body need
Sex and drugs and rock and roll
Is very good indeed

Ian Dury and the Blockheads

There are times when a woman has to say what's on her mind, even though she knows how much it's gonna hurt.

Since so many have been covered I'm going deep down possibly obscure:D

Send your roaches to Julie Nixon:

Same as it ever was.

Take me to the river. Drop me in the water

Twas kinda stuck between what cover I should post but I decided to go with my grrl, Annie, since I think she's under rated

And to not slight the 50's, ... I ain't got nobody but I'm still a gigolo (paraphrasing)

"I'm going back in time and it's a sweet dream / It was a quiet night and I would be all right if I could go on sleeping."

It's savage and it's cruel
And it shines like destruction
Comes in like the flood
And it seems like religion
It's noble and it's brutal
It distorts and deranges
And it wrenches you up
And you're left like a zombie

It's savage and it's cruel
And it shines like destruction
Comes in like the flood
And it seems like religion
It's noble and it's brutal
It distorts and deranges
And it wrenches you up
And you're left like a zombie
Man, that song used to pack the gay dance floors circa 1983-1984!
