I wouldn't agree that everyone had a cell phone now. While small, there is certainly still a segment of the population that doesn't have them. That segment of the population, an older demographic, may be more reliant on landlines in the event of an emergency. The phones also are not just used to contact the front desk to request additional supplies.Is it really though? I mean everyone has cell phones now. I know lots of people that don’t have a home phone. I don’t think it’s really a safety issue like it might have once been.
