The Sheraton Vistana Resort Thread (key links on p.1)

The older sections in Vistana and Sabal or quite similar.

When booking, make sure you get a sleeps 8 configuration to ensure enough beds for all. IMO Springs might be a best fit for your wish list; the Springs pool is generally pretty quiet, and still close to the action at the Cascades or Spas pool for the kids. These are 3 storey walkup buildings. Spas (2-3 storey) or Fountains (3 storey) would also be a good fit. The newer Cascades and Lakes Sections are probably higher density than you would want.

You don't generally get a choice of sections when booking (although VIO will probably give you a better chance at Fountains over VIT); both RCI and II reservations are assigned "run of house" from the pool of available villas that match the reservation criteria. The resort has a Diamond Lane request (link on page 1) which generally triggers a call from a concierge and gives access to Diamond Lane check in. You can make a request for a section from the resort, through the concierge and they do their best to accommodate within the villa class reserved.

Thank you for the reply!
I requested eight maximum and on my guest certificate it says accommodating six privately, eight maximum. And on the resort accommodations page it has the sleeping accommodations listed as : one queen pull out sofa, one king size bed, and two full-size beds.

Hello Vistana people,

Just a quick note to say we are here now and really pleased with our villa - it’s very clean, attractive, spacious and well-equipped. The resort is lovely and comfortable, and so conveniently located. Today we relaxed at the pools, wandered the nearby areas, and took it easy before heading back to the parks tomorrow. Knowing about the value of making a Diamond Lane request ensured that we got a location and layout that works for us. We are happy with our spot in Cascades - it’s close to everything and still quite peaceful.

Thanks so much for the great advice you offer here.

Hi everyone, I’m going to the vistana for the first time this March and curious about where to stay.
Is the springs section nice?
I have the opportunity to book through a timeshare on the ground floor of the springs section.
I’m not sure which building.
I have a 4 year old girl, and 10 and 11 year old boys. We will be at the resort a lot so we want to be close to a lot of fun things.
I really like the look of the fountains section but I’m not sure it’s worth paying $500 more.

Thanks and see you in the sunny south.....

Since many of my photos have disappeared now that they've changed the platform for Photobucket, I thought I'd re-post some so that those who are planning trips have some good visuals of the resort. Here we go :):
