This Halloween Was Hot As Hades! *updated 1/29/20*

I anxiously await your posts. We are planning to go this year the same week you went in 2019. I’ve been worried about crowds, but seems like it wasn’t as bad while you were there as I would have thought. Been reading that October is now a really busy month to visit and have been getting concerned. Your trip report is showing me it’s still a good time to visit. Especially with the right plans.

We went 3 different weeks in 2019; early May, mid June and the week of this report. Not one of these weeks felt any more or less crowded to us than the other two. I would guess it just felt that way as a result of doing research and planning before we go.

The only time a park was noticeably more crowded was during MNSSHP. We were back at MK for the entire day the day after the party we attended and the party felt twice as crowded as the regular day. It was crazy.

Wednesday, October 30, 2019 Part 1 - Solo Morning at Magic Kingdom

After a late night at MNSSHP, I was up early to get to MK for the 7:00 AM EEMH. Michelle was going to sleep in and meet me at the park later that morning. On our trips I usually keep track of the times of every detail. What time I went to bed, woke up, got to the bus stop, got on the bus, and so on. Between the heat and the lack of sleep, I kind of lost interest in making a detailed account of everything halfway through the week.

I'm not sure what time I arrived at the park, but I was the first person in line at one of the tapstiles to enter the park. I remember talking to the CM at the tapstile. He asked where I was from. He told me he was from NY after I told him I was from ME. I don't recall how long he said he had been in FL. I asked him how he liked it and he said he hated it because of the humidity. I definitely knew that feeling for much of this week.

Once in the park, I began my morning with 2 rides on 7DMT. I waited in line 5 minutes for the first ride.

49372574286_854f358c29_z.jpg

I waited 9 minutes for the 2nd ride.

I had planned to ride Peter Pan next before heading to Tomorrowland, but the ride was down. Instead of heading right to Tomorrowland, I decided to take some pictures around the castle. I had never been in MK that early in the morning and I wasn't sure I'd ever get the opportunity to see it that early in the morning again.

49372732582_deb11a3f12_c.jpg

After taking pics around the castle, I arrived at Tomorrowland at 7:34.

49372533116_b1b901f4c2_c.jpg

I had planned to ride Space Mountain and then Astro Orbiter, but I decided to go on AO first while there was still some orange in the sky. I waited only 5 minutes after getting in line.

49372529436_60d98dae4f_c.jpg

SM had a 15 minute wait posted when I entered at 7:46, and I waited just 5 minutes.

49372116758_fef65855a9_c.jpg

From there, I passed back through Fantasyland on the way to Frontierland.

49372529176_4f72620a02_c.jpg

I arrived at BTMR at 8:07 to a 10 minute posted wait and I waited only half of that. After that I walked right on to Splash Mountain. The ride stalled for a few minutes towards the end.

49372775972_8ba49624ec_z.jpg

Pirates was next and it was having issues as well. I should have been able to walk right on, but I ended up waiting 15 minutes.

49372572246_ba25e4d37e_c.jpg

I was feeling a little hungry so I thought I might head to Sleepy Hollow for a waffle sandwich. I ran into both Shaker and Wendell on the way.

49372082958_0cfe283e39_z.jpg

49372086123_78ba9cda40_z.jpg

There was a bit of a line at Sleepy Hollow. It was almost 9:30 and I knew that Mary Poppins would be at the gazebo then. I decided to head over there to meet her, and I was the first to arrive.

49372085363_344790aabb_z.jpg

I decided to pass on waiting at Sleepy Hollow, and to go to Main Street bakery instead. I felt I could really use a cold brew. I stopped for the Liberty Square Bridge PhotoPass op on the way.

49372774907_119a4525af_z.jpg

Main Street Bakery was packed when I got there. I was going to get a cold brew and a pastry, but I realized our Liberty Tree Tavern ADR was only about 2 hours away. I decided not to bother getting anything at the bakery, and to go to Aloha Isle for something lighter. The Dapper Dans were out, so the walk over hadn't been a complete waste of time.

49372084978_585dc3ff31_c.jpg

I got a raspberry/pineapple swirl Dole Whip at Aloha Isle and it was really good. It was starting to get pretty hot out, so I was glad I decided to go there instead of the bakery.

49372084308_12d3e78382_c.jpg

After I ate my Dole Whip, I decided to go do a M&G I had never done before, Cinderella's Stepsisters. I saw this squirrel on the way over:

49372740442_c1b605927a_c.jpg

When I arrived at the M&G, the Fairy Godmother was there. I had never met her either, so I got in line. The line was pretty short, and the CM there made an announcement that the Stepsisters would be replacing her shortly. I met fairy Godmother at 10:27.

49372786322_0e926b22c9_z.jpg

49372787287_780384a903_c.jpg

The line was still fairly short, and I decided to get back in it so I could meet the Stepsisters. There were only 4 groups in front of me when they swapped out. The 2nd group was a mother who had a baby. She put the baby down on the ground and the Stepsisters knelt down in front of the baby. The baby was crawling around in front of them and the Stepsisters watched and made comments. It was pretty cute for a couple of minutes, but after 5 minutes of this, guests in line were getting impatient, and starting to talk to each other about how long they were taking. It literally went on for a total of 10 minutes. I finally got my turn to meet them at 10:46.

49372582621_a6b440f83c_c.jpg

Our first FP of the day was scheduled to be BTMR, but Michelle wasn't able to ride any rocky rides on this trip. I had already ridden BTMR earlier that morning so, at some point, I was able to change our FP to Peter Pan. Michelle was running late and hadn't arrived at the park yet. The FP was going to expire shortly, and she wasn't going to make it, so I went ahead and rode it by myself.

When Michelle arrived at the park, I met her at Memento Mori. After we browsed that shop we went to look around inside ye Olde Christmas Shoppe before our 11:45 Liberty Tree Tavern ADR.

Wednesday, October 30, 2019 Part 2 - Magic Kingdom From Lunch To Park Close

Michelle and I each ordered our usual at Liberty Tree Tavern. She got fish and I got the Bacon Cheddar Burger and a Samuel Adams Rebel IPA. Our food arrived at 12:24.

Since Michelle wasn't going on most of the roller coasters during this trip, I switched her 7DMT FP to POTC. After luch we split up briefly to go on our rides. I tapped in at 7DMT at 12:55. 70 minute wait posted and I waited 4.

After 7DMT, I went to the front of the castle to watch Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire while I waited for Michelle to be done with POTC.

After MRFF, I grabbed us a spot in the hub in front of the castle to watch the FOF parade. We usually watch it from Main Street or right where it kicks off in Frontierland, but I wanted to get some pictures of the parade with the castle right in the background. It was very hot waiting in the sun for over a half hour for the parade to arrive, but it was worth it. I think I found a new favorite spot to watch the parade from.

Next up was a HM FP. Michelle wanted to go to the Christmas shop to buy the gingerbread Mickey ears while we were in that area. After we left the shop, we were already entering the 15 minute grace period on our FP, and she wanted to use the restroom before we went on HM. When we finally arrived at the FP line, we had 5 minutes left, but the line was really backed up. I figured as long as it was moving we'd be good. The line barely moved at all in those 5 minutes and our time ran out.

I was pretty frustrated as we walked away. It was very hot out and we ended up walking through the pathway that was congested because of a refurbishment wall that was taking up space. Trying to get through that area only made me more frustrated and I was in a bad mood. Michelle suggested we go to the Enchanted Tiki Room to cool off. I like the Tiki Room a lot, but I was in such a bad mood I knew I wasn't going to enjoy it.

The doors opened shortly after we arrived and we sat down on a bench all the way in the back like we always do. When the show started, I didn't pay attention to it. I leaned back and closed my eyes and I drifted off a couple of times. Before I knew it the show was over. I think my lack of sleep had contributed to my gumpiness. I had been averaging only 4 hours of sleep a night over the previous 5 days. When we exited the Tiki Room, I was in a much better mood after my little power nap.

We went to check on Country Bear Jamboree next. The attraction had been down for at least the entire morning. When we arrived, guests were already going inside. I'm not sure if the doors had just opened for the next show or if they were opening for the first time that day.

After passing on waiting in the long line at Sunshine Tree Terrace, it seemed like a good time to check out Swiss Family Treehouse which is one of those things we had just never gotten around to doing before. It was a nice little diversion and offered a pretty unique view looking out across the park from up high.

At some point I had gotten us another FP for HM so we gave it another shot. We tapped in at 4:01 to a 55 minute posted wait and waited 13. The ride stopped for about a minute while we were on it. I imagine the backed up FP line we ran into an hour or so earlier was the result of the ride having issues.

49372786487_51127ac385_z.jpg

I had starting grabbing FP we'd be able to use almost instantly. First at Pooh at 4:33 and then at Buzz 5:08.

49372124743_de9afc6433_c.jpg

At 5:19 we went to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and ended up waiting a while for the next show. When we were done there I wanted to go to the Purple Wall while we were in the area. Earlier in my report I mentioned the #FunkoPhotoADay contest on Instagram which I had entered the previous day of our trip. When I first saw what the theme would be for October 30, and realized I would be at MK that day, I knew instantly I had to get a picture of Ursula with the Purple Wall in the background. The theme for that day was "Something Purple." Here's the photo I submitted. Sadly, I did not win either of the 2 attempts I had on this trip.

49372566501_6a89b9c9cc_z.jpg

We next went to the Carousel of Progress, which we hadn't done since our May 2010 trip, and then used a FP at PPF at 6:52.

49372769467_8e026fc6d5_c.jpg

After leaving PPF at 7:05, I wanted to give the spring roll cart stationed at the Adventureland entrance a try. They had pepperoni pizza and cheeseburger spring rolls on the menu. I asked the CM if it would be possible to get one of each. I was told that, normally, it would be possible, but they were out of the cheeseburger ones. So I ordered 2 pepperoni pizza spring rolls and we sat down at a table at Tortuga Tavern, I believe. I would definitely get these spring rolls again, but I hope to be able to try the cheeseburger ones next time.

49372768947_36f39921d5_c.jpg

After finishing the spring rolls, I wanted to get something at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Michelle waited at our table and I returned with a Strawberry Dole Whip. As much as I enjoy the classic Pineapple Dole Whip, I've really been liking the other flavors I've been able to try. I'm hoping they'll still have the Coconut left over from MVMCP when we go back in 2 weeks.

49372108653_ce4de26c65_z.jpg

At 7:44 we used FP at Jungle Cruise. We'd been on JC at night before, but we'd never had a skipper that's really gone off script until this time. He was really funny and he kept giving a guest wearing a University of Kentucky hat a hard time throughout the ride. This was easily the best ride on JC we'd ever had.

After the cruise, we rode Magic Carpets of Aladdin before going to get a spot behind the castle for Happily Ever After. Near the bridge to Be Our Guest has become our favorite spot to view the fireworks when we don't feel like standing in the sea of people in the hub. After that we rode Prince Charming Regal Carousel which is a guilty pleasure for us at night.

49372563606_d79c53c41e_c.jpg

The park closed at 10:00 and we stayed for the Kiss Goodnight before heading out.

Thursday, October 31, 2019 Part 1 - Halloween Morning at Magic Kingdom

When we were planning our trip and deciding which parks we were going to do on which days, I really wanted to be at MK on Halloween since it's the only park that decorates for it. The only problem was MNSSHP is on Halloween night and Michelle didn't want to be leaving the park early on our MK day. So our Epcot day ended up being Halloween, but I still had a chance to spend some time in MK. We didn't have any interest in going on many rides at Epcot, so we didn't feel the need to be there right when the park opened at 9:00. Michelle liked the idea of sleeping in and not getting to Epcot until around 10:30. With the 7:00 EEMH at MK, that would give me a good 3 hours or so to hang out there before going to Epcot.

I wasn't planning to do rides at MK. I wanted to just hang out on Main Street and around the hub, and probably go on HM before leaving for Epcot. I also wanted to take a ride on a Main Street vehicle since I'd never done it before. I arrived at MK about 20 minutes before 7:00. After entering the park I walked around taking pictures and did the PhotoPass op outside the Train Station.

49410343591_78105aa078_z.jpg

It was Halloween and I wanted to have some fun with my PhotoPass pictures. I did this "Howling at the moon" pose by the flag pole which drew some laughter from guests waiting in line for the photo op.

49409826453_c5a303ab60_c.jpg

It was 7:30 and I began making my way down Main Street, stopping at each of the PhotoPass photographers on the way, and mixing in some monster poses here and there.

I then walked back to Town Square to take more pictures of the scarecrows, etc.

49410905822_bda06d3b40_z.jpg

At 7:47, I realized I needed to get to the castle for Let the Magic Begin. I was able to get in a vehicle and take my first ride down Main Street. It was neat to do, but I prefer walking.

49409833138_a956752926_z.jpg

I did another PhotoPass op and walked around the hub taking pictures before heading to Main Street bakery for some breakfast.

49409823763_ef8275d878_z.jpg

I ordered the Halloween themed Mickey Cinnamon Roll and a Starbucks Cold Brew and took a seat at one of the yellow tables. I spent a good amount of time here just listening to the music loop and enjoying the atmosphere.

49410512542_267002d3cf_z.jpg

I had planned to try the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew on this morning, but I'd completely forgotten about it until I saw a woman holding one. I decided to go back in and get one.

49410308461_f58d3f170e_z.jpg

I enjoyed some of the Main Street live entertainment while drinking my Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. One of the Citizens of Main Street walked over near me and started dancing. It was Halloween, and I was feeling festive, so I started dancing too. She started talking to me out of character. She told me she goes up to random people and starts dancing, and she thanked me for dancing too. She asked me where I was from and I told her Maine. She mentioned she likes Sebago Lake which isn't far from where I live. After chatting with her for about a minute, she told me it was time for her to go sing.

49410512252_6e1d0264cb_c.jpg

It was nearing 10:00 and it was just about time for me to head out for Epcot. I had intended to ride HM, but I was enjoying my time around Main Street so much I didn't bother. I decided to go ahead and do the Super Zoom Magic Shot before I left since it was nearby.

49409824298_1e9cc6d27f_c.jpg

I also did the Train Station photo op again on the way out.

It was 10:22 and I was on my way to catch the Monorail to Epcot.

Thursday, October 31, 2019 Part 2 - Epcot

49432705672_4827dd16e0_c.jpg

I arrived at Epcot via the Monorail from MK around 10:45. Michelle was already in the park browsing the shops and she came to meet me at Spaceship Earth for our first FP. We tapped in at 11:06. When we sat down on the ride she selected French for the language just for the heck of it. I asked her what she did that for. She thought only the words on the screen would be in French and didn't realize the ride would be narrated in French. So the ride was pretty much ruined.

Once we were done with Spaceship Earth we could use our 2nd FP at Mission: Space, but first I wanted to go to Mouse Gear to get my Chef Remy AP magnet. I asked a CM at a register about it and she pointed me to an area outside. There were only about 5 people waiting in line for a magnet, so I got mine fairly quickly.

As we neared Mission: Space, we saw a large rat scurrying across the pavement and he stopped. He was gray and had a pink nose and pink tail. He looked like a real-life Remy. I thought it would be neat to get a picture of him since Remy was kind of the mascot for the F&W Festival, but when I got near him he flopped over on his side. It was really hot out and he didn't look so good laying there. He was breathing heavy. Michelle went to a nearby food booth to let a CM know about him. Michelle came back over and told me the CM contacted someone about it. About 30 seconds later, the rat got back up and went on his way.

We tapped in for Mission: Space Green at 12:02, but we had no intention of riding it. Michelle doesn't think she'd be able to handle it. I rode green for the first time back in May, and orange for the first time back in June. I would ride it again, but it isn't something I felt like I needed to do on this trip. We were just there to burn a FP.

Sunshine Seasons is one of the few places in Epcot Michelle can get something she's able to eat. I wanted to try a few items from some of the food booths. So we split up for lunch. I went to Flavors from Fire to get the Smoked Corn Beef which I liked a lot.

49432478866_54b13dc896_c.jpg

When I was finished with that, I walked over to the nearby Cheese Studio booth to get the Maple Bourbon Cheesecake. I returned to Flavors from Fire with my cheesecake and ordered a Bell's Brewery Porter. The cheesecake was delicious.

49432479951_d7c8c534d7_c.jpg

After eating the cheesecake, I went to the Chocolate Studio booth and ordered the Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle. I then carried that and the beer all the way over to a table near the bottom of the hill that leads up to The Land. The truffle was great too. Those were the only items I got at any of the booths that day, but I was really pleased with all of them.

49432479846_1db0fd3140_c.jpg

49432705172_f562599548_c.jpg

Michelle met me at the bottom of the hill when she was finished eating and then we walked to the Norway to use our 3rd FP at FEA. We tapped in at 1:22 and then I started looking for a 4th FP. I got us Soarin' for later in the day.

49432008058_e1be1c8fc7_z.jpg

After Frozen, we went to Mexico to see when Mariachi Cobre Presents the Story of Coco would be playing. We missed it on our previous trip and we were very disappointed when we found out it was added to the list of live entertainment that got cut. We couldn't believe they were getting rid of it before Halloween. Then, a couple of days before our trip, it was announced it would be returning for Dia de los Muertos. We were making sure we did not miss it this time. When we arrived, the show was already in progress, but Miguel hadn't come out yet. We watched the remainder of it.

49432704772_2aefee339e_z.jpg

After the show, the dancers were letting guests get their picture taken with them. They were kind enough to pose for a quick pic.

49432479271_d740b3b95c_c.jpg

As did the musicians.

49432704427_e815f9061e_c.jpg

There was a board set up with the show times and we saw that another Coco performance was taking place at 2:30. We both wanted to watch it again. To kill some time before the next show, we went inside the Mexico Pavilion to browse the merchandise and we walked on the 3 Caballeros ride at 2:02.

We were able to get a spot in the front for our 2nd viewing of the Coco performance.

49432478661_759328bda1_z.jpg

After the show, we went to China and looked around for 20 minutes. Next we went to the large store in Japan. Michelle always spends a lot of time in there, so I decided to go to France to get a snack I wanted to try. The Pumpkin Spice Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich at L'Artisan de Glaces. It turned out to be another winner.

49432965957_4eb7a1fb67_z.jpg

I went back to Japan and looked around in the store with Michelle. We did the PhotoPass op there before moving on.

49432007243_a620c928ed_c.jpg

We checked on the Pooh M&G in the UK, but the line was longer than I was hoping. We decided to skip it and go right to Soarin' which we tapped in to at 4:39.

I wanted to meet Mickey, Goofy and Minnie, but Michelle wasn't interested. She went to look in some shops while I did it. There were only 2 groups inside when I entered at 5:07, so I got through quickly.

49432485031_d84b5535f3_z.jpg

49432484846_cfb4d1954e_c.jpg

Minnie was scared of my shirt.

49432484626_0a21622da1_c.jpg

But she got over it.

49432006893_66ef7a50bc_z.jpg

After the M&G, I went to Mouse Gear to buy the F&W Festival exclusive Figment Funko Pop and a F&W salt/ pepper shaker with Figment on it. I met back up with Michelle and we went in Art of Disney before heading out of the park.

Thursday, October 31, 2019 Part 3 - Port Orleans Halloween

When we had returned to our room the previous night, after a late evening at MK, I noticed a blinking red light on our room phone indicating we had a message. I played it back and it was to inform us of the activities that would be taking place at POFQ Halloween night. It mentioned character M&G, candy, a dance party, and toasting marshmallows during that night's Movie Under the Stars, Hocus Pocus.

We had never seen characters at our hotel before, and we thought it sounded like it could be fun. The only problem was we were planning to stay at Epcot until park close to see Epcot Forever for the first time. But we figured Epcot Forever would be there on our next trip while the Halloween event was something unique that we might not be able to experience again. So we made the decision that we would leave Epcot much earlier than originally planned.

When we arrived back at POFQ, we passed through the lobby and went out the rear exit. We saw Pluto meeting guests outside there, so we got in line and met him at 6:24.

49437446687_5fd1f924f3_z.jpg

We were planning to walk over to Riverside the following night, but we felt it would make more sense to do it this night instead since characters were meeting at the resorts. We went to our room to clean up first. When we got to our room I noticed a piece of paper on the table. It was a notice informing us that there could be a delay in arriving at the parks the following morning due to a run that would be taking place. I took a quick glance at it and brushed it aside.

It was already dark out when we finally left our room and made our way back to where we met Pluto.

49437445482_3e9341e44c_z.jpg

When we arrived, Mickey was out instead of Pluto. I'm not sure how frequently they switched between the two, but I wish we had been able to see Mickey before it got dark out. They had lights set up, but the pictures we took of each other with him still came out pretty grainy. I did get this halfway decent photo of him right after we met him:

49437443862_10b8d1ba32_z.jpg

Before walking to Riverside, we went back in the lobby to look at the pumpkins that were part of the CM Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Here's the fist place entry:

49437219086_e47b123803_z.jpg

Despite staying at POFQ 5 times previously, we had never walked over to Riverside before. It was a nice evening walk over and when we arrived, we went inside the lobby to check out their Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Here's the Riverside winner:

49437439832_2e278849d0_z.jpg

We went out to see which character was meeting there and I was happy to see it was Donald. We met him at 8:14 and then went inside to Riverside Mill Food Court.

Michelle was getting something to have for dinner there, but I was going to wait and get the jambalaya once we got back to POFQ. I did see a Worms 'n' Dirt cupcake I couldn't resist, though.

It was going to take awhile for Michelle to get her food since it was a special request, so I went back outside to see which character was meeting. Donald was gone, but hadn't been replaced yet. I asked a guest in line if he knew who was coming out next and he told me it was Goofy. I got in line and met him at 8:41.

Michelle finally had her food shortly after I had gone back inside and sat down at a table. I think it was just a chicken sandwich and I remember she didn't care for it. I had wanted to see Yehaa Bob at River Roost, but it was already packed in there when we first arrived at the resort. We looked around in the gift shop and then walked back to POFQ. I got my Jambalaya, which I ate in the food court, and then we went back to our room for the night.

Friday, November 1, 2019 - Disney's Animal Kingdom

It was the final park day of our trip and Michelle was finally going to attend one of the EEMH at a park. I don't recall what time we woke up that morning or what time we were out at the bus stop at POFQ. We had planned on being at the park for the 7:00 open, but we ended up arriving closer to 7:30. I had completely forgotten about the notice that was left in our room the previous day to inform guests to expect delays in arriving to the parks in the morning due to a run that would be taking place. Despite arriving about a half hour later than intended, I didn't really expect the delay to affect our touring plans to start the day. We were going to rope drop NRJ and then go KS. Any time in between that would have been spent just looking around and maybe going to Creature Comforts/Kusafiri. This pic was taken at 7:33 on our way to NRJ:

NRJ still had only a 5 minute wait posted when we entered the queue at 7:42 and we were able to walk right on. After that, we went right to KS and got in line. It wasn't expected to open until 8:30, so we had plenty of time to kill. I told Michelle I'd hold our place in line while she went to Kusafiri for a croissant, and then she could hold it while I went to Creature Comforts.

After Getting a Starbucks Cold Brew and a Caramel Mocha Cupcake, I stopped at the Harambe bridge to take this pic of my cupcake at 8:13:

I noticed I had a text from Michelle letting me know that they were already letting guests on KS. I put the lid back on my cupcake and went to the queue entrance. I assumed she'd be waiting for me outside, but I didn't see her. I figured she must have gone in and would be waiting for me further in. I reached the end of the queue and there was no sign of her. I figured she must have already gotten on one of the vehicles, so I went ahead and got on myself. The woman sitting on my left thought it was awesome I brought my cupcake on the ride.

Michelle had gotten on the ride when they started letting guests in and she was waiting for me near the ride exit. It had only a 15 minute wait posted when I exited and we decided to get back in line so we could ride it together. We ended up waiting like 5 minutes, and I quickly ate my cupcake and drank my cold brew while we were in the queue.

After exiting, we did the nearby PhotoPass op at 9:30.

It included this Magic Shot:

I was taking a picture of the nearby waterfall and a CM kindly offered to take our picture in front of it.

After that, we went to watch some of the Kora Tinga Tinga performance and then we stopped to watch the Otters for a few minutes on our way to use our first FP of the day at FOP. I did the Banshee Magic Shot while Michelle went to the restroom.

49444580543_ae3173e6b1_z.jpg

We tapped in at FOP at 9:54. The posted wait was 140 minutes and we were on our Banshees at 10:12. Next up was the 11:00 FOTLK and then we explored the Discovery Island Trails before going to Adventurers Outpost the use our 2nd FP. We tapped in at 11:46. The posted wait was 40 minutes and we met Mickey and Minnie at 12:02.

After the photographer was finished taking photos of us, I asked the CM if I could get a quick close-up of just Mickey and I since I was wearing my Safari Mickey shirt.

Our 3rd FP was for EE, but Michelle wouldn't be able to ride it. I changed her FP to ITTBAB so she could burn her FP and then browse the Discovery Island shops while I went to EE. I tapped in at Everest at 12:29 with a posted 45 minute wait. I was on the ride in 5 minutes.

After EE, I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice at Y&Y Local Food Cafes and got a spot near the lake to eat it.

I met back up with Michelle in front of the TOL for the 1:15 Winged Encounters show.

Michelle went to meet Launchpad McQuack while I went to use my 4th FP at Dinosaur at 1:34. At the beginning of the week, the plant graphics on the ride photo got me in the front row. This time they got me in the back row.

49444578633_78613efc9f_c.jpg

I ran into Pluto near Chester & Hester's at 1:56.

49444515948_8ee623b29e_z.jpg

I was curious to see what was available at Dino-Bite Snacks and I saw the Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Sandwich on the menu. I had read it was really good, so I decided to get one. The CM who handed it to me noticed I had been waiting for 5 minutes after ordering it. She said that was waiting 5 minutes for an ice cream sandwich was ridiculous and asked me if I wanted anything on the house. I told her I was all set, but 10 minutes later I was thinking I should have accepted a free bottle of water.

I met up with Michelle in front of the building the Nemo musical takes place in. We sat down in the ROL seating area so I could eat my ice cream sandwich before we watched the 2:30 Nemo show. The sandwich was awesome, by the way.

After Nemo, we went to Maharajah Jungle Trek.

At some point in the afternoon, I was able to get us another FP for FOP. We tapped in at 4:56 and then left the park for Disney Springs after riding it.

We looked around in some shops at Disney Springs before splitting up to eat around 7:00. Michelle went to Earl of Sandwich and I went to Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar. I took a seat at the bar and ordered an Old Elephant Foot IPA and the Air Pirate's Cargo Loaded Pretzel. The beer was a nice citrusy IPA. The pretzel was expensive at $22, but it was awesome.

I went to Sprinkles to get a Pumpkin Spice Cupcake before meeting Michelle near Earl of Sandwich.

It was a little after 8:00 and she was ready to call it a night. I hated the idea of turning in early on our last night, so I decided I'd go to DHS until it closed. I got myself a FP for ToT, but then I thought about watching Fantasmic instead since I hadn't seen it since we first went to WDW together in May of 2010. As I ate my cupcake while considering my options, it dawned on me that buses don't go to the parks from Disney Springs. I would have to take a bus to a Boardwalk area resort and then walk over to the park. I didn't mind the extra walking, but I felt it would take to much time. I didn't want to go all the way over there and not make it in time to be able to do anything other than walk around the park.

I considered staying at Disney Springs for a while, but I wasn't going to eat anything else that night and I didn't have any interest in going in shops or just walking around. I thought about going to the Boardwalk to hang out, but then I would have to take a bus back to Disney Springs to get transportation back to POFQ. I'm not one to use Uber or call a cab if I don't have to. I ended up deciding to just go back to POFQ. Michelle was still waiting for a bus when I got to the bus stop, and one arrived there shortly after I did.

Thank you for sharing your trip experiences! The photos were great. POFQ is our “go to“ resort - really love this resort. You do seem to fit a lot into your Disney Day!

Thanks! I love being in the parks from open to close. Even on days when I don’t care about doing a lot of rides, I enjoy just hanging out. Taking pictures, watching the live entertainment, meeting characters, etc.

Saturday, November 2, 2019 - Departure Day + Final Thoughts

There really isn't much to say about our departure day since I didn't keep track of anything. We flew out late in the morning and got home late afternoon/early evening. That's about all I remember. So I'll just share a few pictures I took around POFQ after I went to Scat Cat's Club Cafe for some Mickey-shaped Beignets and a Joffrey's Chicory Coffee that morning.

Over all it was a great week, largely due to the EEMH. It was almost like doing EMM, but without having to pay for the extra ticket.

The biggest downside of the week was the weather. It was so hot. It was in the lower 90's for most of the week, but it felt like 100 on a few of those days. It was most noticeable walking around the World Showcase at Epcot on Halloween, and walking around Magic Kingdom the afternoon before.

I still can't get over how crowded MNSSHP was. It's ridiculous that a hard ticket event felt a lot more crowded than a regular day at the park. We still had a good time, but there was a stretch of an hour or so where I wasn't really enjoying myself. It's getting to the point where it feels like it's no longer worth it, especially when they keep increasing the ticket prices.

SWGE. The theming in the land is really cool. I love that they have roaming characters. Oga's Cantina is awesome. MFSR is pretty great if you're a pilot. It just wish there was more to do. Maybe I'll be able to get on ROTR next week and that will prove to be a difference maker for me. We shall see.

I really enjoyed your report!
My family had a similar experience at our last Christmas party. It was terribly busy & it caught us by surprise, even though I had done massive amounts of reading about it. No way I will be able to talk my husband into buying tickets again.
I Look forward to your next report!

Thank you.

Yeah. I love the entertainment the parties have to offer, but they certainly don’t feel like limited events these days.

Thanks for putting all the work in on these reports. It's fun to follow along. I assume that is your vacation diet...beer, deserts and iced coffee. I was wondering how you stay so thin but I can imagine you were walking 10 to 15 miles a day.
