I have never seen it, so I can't comment on the quality of the show. But I am currently reading James Patterson's Woman's Murder Club book series and found that it was turned into a short lived TV Show.

They didn't so much wait it out as move its time slot. It was opposite Wonderful world of Disney. They moved it to right between All in the Family and the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

The Cool Kids. FOX very surprisingly did not give it a chance. I watched it from the beginning, but during its run heard a much younger woman raving about it and recommending it to her friends.
