Upgrades??

3 weeks before last years trip, we were offered an upgrade from CBR to YC for what seemed like pennies. Our travel agent handled everything.
We leave March 1st, this year and are staying at CBR, but this time we won the trip and the agency handling everything hasn't hear of any upgrades.

Can we call wdw ourselves and look into it, or would wdw contact us?

Last year, POR had significant closures (Mansions and some of Aligator Bayou) and POFQ was completely closed. You might have been moved to make room for the people who had originally booked at these places. With the only place being closed, the still unfinished Pop Century, the hopes of getting this type of upgrade again is slim to none. Also, CBR just re-opened after extensive renovations to the food court, so I doubt they'll be moving anyone from that resort.

Wasn't the CBR closed for the restaurant renovations last year? We went to the Poly in October and most of the CBR folks had gotten a heck of a deal to upgrade to the Poly and other deluxes. It was done to empty out the CBR for closure. You won't get an upgrade to another hotel unless for some reason the one you booked at is closing or rarely overbooked. If you want a better hotel they you are going to have to pay for it.
