Richard was wonderful in pre-trip call, but unsuccessful in getting my husbands name correct on the reservation. He had good advice on which buildings had Disney fireworks views, but failed to tell us that we were reserved for an a/B unit, which are not located in the firework view buildings (fireworks can most likely be viewed on floors 7-8 of building 18/19 and 8-10 of building 16). Not to worry. Senani at the front desk assigned us building 3, which was perfect for access to Vacation Villages' wonderful playground. There is one designed for 2-5 year olds and another for 5-12 year olds, in addition to two swings.

Vacation Villages at Parkway is a timeshare with lock-out units. Their website gives two different layouts: A/B or A/C. When choosing a location among the 19 buildings on property, you will be guided by which of these combinations you booked. We initially asked for a Disney fireworks view without realizing we were booked in an A/B, which are the older units. For our family of six, our A/B unit in building 3 was perfect: close to the playground, activity center, pool, and nature walk. The playground has a set for ages 2-5 and a nice large area for ages 5-12, as well as two swings, a balance bean, and shuffleboard. The activities staff was very friendly and helpful. Our kids loved the face painting and snow cones, which were included in the mandatory $25 fee.

While there isn't daily maid service, you do get a fully equipped kitchen in the A units, as well as a stacked washer/dryer in both units. The jetted tub in the A unit was amazing, and I loved how the shower was separate and private with the toilet. Our baby's pack-n-play fit nicely in the second bathroom. The rooms were inside entry and all buildings had elevators.

On the day we opened Magic Kingsom, we were parking our car within 10 minutes of leaving Vacation Villages. The town of celebration is just across the street, which would be a nice stroll. Wendy's and subway are in an adjacent parking lot, as well as a Kobe steakhouse and twistee treat ice cream place. We would recommend a car for flexibility, although we saw several families using the shuttle. People were friendly and from all over the world.

We used our RCI membership to get a week for $199, which was an amazing value. we would not recommend going on the tour or purchasing a timeshare retail. Timeshares at this location can be "purchased" for almost nothing resale. value.

We hope to be back soon!

We also enjoyed our stay there in December. We used the shuttle one day. The shuttle is also included in the $25 . Great location.

We just came back from a week stay here and also stayed a week in March. This resort is great for visiting Disney! Very close, great location. Huge units and very clean. Also has one of the biggest hot tubs I have ever seen. They do have a shuttle for those who aren't driving. We will definitely be staying here again.

Oh, also Publix is right across the street, too. The resort provides a shuttle there as well for those who need to make a grocery run.
