Word of warning to MVMCP/BoG ADR's during party hours...

Just out of curiosity, I went through and booked a BoG ADR during a MVMCP. The usual "disclaimer/warning" that this booking was during a hard ticket event and requires a ticket did NOT appear at any time during the booking.

However, when I received my email confirmation, there is a standard disclaimer at the bottom which states:

- If applicable, Hard Ticket Event reservations. You are making a reservation during an event which requires the purchase of a separately prices event admission ticket (ex: Mickey's Not-Scary-Halloween Party). Guests with theme park admission must purchase the special event admission ticket in order to enter or remain in the park during the special event. Special event tickets may be purchased at disneyworld.com or by calling 407-WDISNEY.
Note: The number of tickets available is limited for special events. Events may sell out early. Special event tickets are valid only during specific event dates and hours. Tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable.

In order to participate in this experience, park admission is required.

So...the disclaimer is there. Hopefully, there won't be a lot of belly-aching about not seeing it this year, but I have low hopes for that.

what time was the adr and did you make it through the special site or reg adr page?

The reservation was made for 7:30 on 12/5.

I made it through the special site, as the regular ADR site still wasn't even showing times available past 6pm.

Based solely on last year's information they will escort you out of the park by 7pm if you don't have a party ticket. Therefore you will probably miss the BoG reservation. Last year the cut off was 6:20 or so for a 7pm party.

It was a dummy reservation I booked just to test and see if the "warning" would pop up during the booking process or in the confirmation email.

I've since cancelled the reservation.

But since you entered via the special site which seems to clearly spell it out .... I would think all the warnings were already there.

Any clues what this "special" site is?

Here are the two links.

Seems clear you have to have tickets, even says ...

Purchase tickets to ---------- Party for park access, dining reservations and dessert event booking.

They FINALLY have dining for the parties loaded! You can't just go to the restaurant page - they have special pages, which is probably a great idea, so that those without tickets don't book.

Halloween booking here.

Christmas booking here.

FINALLY just snagged the Be Our Guest dinner I've been trying to get for 2 months. Yes, it'll eat into party time, but we're going two nights, so I don't mind! (And hope making a new post was okay, I didn't see this on the forum yet).

Yeah, it SHOULD be clear, but do you really think the question won't be asked, complaining won't commence, and belly-aching about "not seeing/being given any warning" won't happen?

Of course, but more than it ever it's in your face. Now they can't even say the regular site let them book and they didn't see warnings. They legit went in through a party page.

There are always those that will claim foul ......... and no doubt in my mind it's as the kids say, "cool story bro."

I think the confusion will be that in past years, as long as your reservation was before the start time if the party, you were fine. Looks like this year starting at 6pm is only available for the party ticket holders, but for the Halloween party at least, regular park hours are until 7pm. I do see the warning though so I'm glad I was able to get my 5:55pm reservation at my 180 day mark.

IMG_0120.PNG It is clearly spelled out in 2 places on the booking page. All the past complaints are probably why Disney decided to make special pages entitled "Party Dining". Complainers won't have a leg to stand on. If you don't have tickets to the party, why would you book dining that specifies it is dining for the party?

It says right in the title of the ADR that it's MNSSHP Dining or MVMCP Dining and multiple times in the description of that offer it says you need party ticket. I'm not sure how much more obvious they could make it. I think this is a good improvement over previous years where you just selected the restaurant from the regular ADR booking page and had to hope people were reading the fine print. You actually have to go out of your way and be searching for party night dining specifically to find these.

I don't know why .... it must be today as I'm all over the place .....

..... but when you said this I thought of those things ....

that jump out and scream at you off the computer screen.

If you try to book it ..........

For Halloween we could use Villains to jump out and warn you it's for party guests only ......:maleficen
...... Christmas ..... Stitch maybe? :stitch:

We have a 5:50 pm reservation at Crystal Palace on 12/22. We booked this through the regular dining reservations site last week when our 180+10 opened. While there was no language during the booking process, I just checked our reservation confirmation and it does include the party disclaimer language. At this time, we are not planning to stay for MVMCP. As it starts at 7:00 our initial thoughts were that a 5:50 reservation would be fine. Is there a possibility that we would be denied dining for this reservation?

I just checked and mine has the same disclaimer. But it says "if applicable". Since we both booked through regular dining and not the special party dining, I don't think it's applicable to us. I have the same disclaimer on a reservation that is on a non-party night.

You're ok at 5:50, since the park isn't officially closed then.

I'm really happy that they changed this to a separate page. Should make BoG dinner easier to get tomorrow morning.

I agree, but the 6-7pm timeframe is still in regular park hours for the Halloween party as it currently stands, and those dining reservations are being assigned to party ticket holders only. I know the Christmas party days regular hours end at 6pm. So I wonder why the discrepancy unless they change Halloween party dates to close at 6 for regular entry as well.

See, I just don't see how they make that 6PM close stick unless they only let in ADRs pre-party, and take away the past-years 4PM access.
