"You know, for having such a bleak outlook on pirates you are well on your way to becoming one: sprung a man from jail, commandeered a ship of the fleet, sailed with a buccaneer crew out of Tortuga, and you're completely obsessed with treasure. "

Im such a Proud Captain ...you guys are catching on so well ..:lmao: :lmao:

Well, I made one teenage girl very happy in this house this morning. I went online when she wasn't watching and got her and my niece tickets to see Gwen Stefani in concert on May 27th at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

I sent Angelina an e-mail with a copy of the ticket purchase, I posted a pic below of her reaction while she was reading the message.

BTW, please ignore the messy desk......it is a teenage girl's room remember. :rotfl2:

Same here. Since we are going skiing next week, I sure would like some of that snow being dumped on Upstate NY...and I'm sure they would like to give me some

I am sure Oswego would love to send you some right about now!!!!:rotfl:

they are gonna have some haulin' to do!! (Usually they will dump it into the river or the Lake when it gets too much to pile up or they run out of places to put it...)

:wizard: have a wonderful ski trip!!!!!:wizard:

Is anyone as interested as I am in Catagena? One of the problems I have with this absolutely phenomenal cruise is there is not too much in the way of historical sites. Of course, my family is thrilled bcs I am always dragging them agaisnt their will to anything historical I can find - its kind of my hobby.

I was lucky enough to go to London with my mom for a week a few years ago - sheer heaven for me.

My kids did very well at Williamsburg this year - we had a family reunion. It helped that I got my son a pretend musket he could shoot things with, and my daughter got a Colonial outfit for her and her American girl doll. They didn't scream or throw fits like MY SISTER & BROTHERS children.

Years ago, I went to the Mex Riviera, and most of the cathedrals, etc are relatively new - by Mexico standards.

Cartagena looks really good in that aspect - old cathedral, zocolo, fort. Has anyone been there? All I can remember about it is from Romancing the Stone - not good...

I've joked about staying onboard...but this is one Port where I would love to take a historical tour - an organized one though...I was an anthro major...and love to explore historical sites!!!:thumbsup2

Okay so what types of food do they usually serve at topsiders if you eat dinner there? Is it all junk type food like pizza, chicken nuggets, etc?

Sorry if this has already been answered (trying to catch up on 30+ pages) but dinner at Topsiders is really good. They serve the same as one of the main restaurants. And, if you eat there with kids, they'll actually run to Pluto's or Pinocchio's to get the kids stuff from there. On one cruise we had a less than desireable dining room crew and we spent our dinners up there. Was truly awesome!!! Some of the best service ever. And, to boot, our server in Topsiders, Gideon, was moved to main dining service, remembered us on our last cruise, and gave all of us big hugs because he said that it was thanks to our comments that he was promoted.:goodvibes Like you, we might pass on the more formal nights and head there instead.

Well since I seem to be the only one not watching the POC today, I'm going to take my shower and check my homeschooling work for the week . . .oh and we have baseball tryouts today . . .spring is coming!

Be sure to....

Turn off that web cam!!!

My kids have been taking piano lessons since September. All I have achieved is a continual headache from reminding them to practice and then from listening to the plink-plink-plink as they DO the practice.

I can sympathize - my DD just started the Viola this year - and has just started using the bow..when she is in a good mood it sounds pretty good, but when she is not up for it and is just going through the motions it sounds ..well, let's just say not so good!!!:rotfl: :headache:

Best to you!! Would love to know any secrets you have . . . our pinewood derby isn't until Feb 24th. Our boys can't wait. We typically win something each year at the sectional race . . . it's such a blast!

You'd have to check with my DH on that one......He helps with the building and I help with the decorating.;)

We beat the car that won not only for SI but for NYC last year. So we are hoping we have a shot......Ryan wants to win and Devin could care less.

It is alot of fun. Others in our Pack were not so thrilled when both our boys locked it up. But oh well.

Hey BBB...keep racking up those mini pirate: ! They have to count for something! :rotfl:

Sayyyy....

What gives???

I got a few f those Minis too????

My son is up playing the cello now -- he just started this year. I don't think Mary Had a Little Lamb is supposed to sound like a funeral dirge.

We have a rule in our house -- no video games unless you've practiced your instrument, so I assume that is why he is practicing w/o being told -- he wants to play XBOX360.

SWMBO has already declared we are getting off the ship in Colombia. She figures there will be few chances for the kids to say they've been in South America. (I've already been, so it isn't as big a deal for me.) We'll probably take a tour of the city through DCL. Maybe we should all wear our pirate garb and they'll leave us alone? Who wants to rob a bunch of mangy looking Americans?

We're getting off the ship there. The kids will probably be missing school at that point, and I want to be able to send them back to school with an excuse note saying, "Pardon the absence as ___ was in South America on that date."
