Good Morning everyone!! 6am on the East Coast.....









For all of you who have lovely weather.....I am so jealous!! DC had minus 3 wind chill yesterday and we are supposed to get 4-8" of snow today.

John, looks like Ohio is getting this storm before us?

Two inches of snow on the ground when I woke up. And COLD.

PJ, like your new photo, but there seems to be someone cut off to the side?

I am very sorry if I offended anyone. DH went to UC Berkely and I went to Stanford. USC is a big rival and know there by that unflattering name. I can just imagine what the call our alma maters!!

Mea culpa to all those who attended or had children attend USC. All of us in family have close friends who attended or are attending USC, including 9 out of the 60 of youngest DD's HS graduation class.

Personally, I doubt you offended anyone! We all know it's in good fun and every college has an annoying reputation of some kind...everyone loves to pick on USC! Hey I went to UC Irvine and our mascot is an ANTEATER, talk about having something to pick on!!! (I hate to pick on my own alma mater, but how lame of a mascot is that....proof positive they wanted to keep the school more academic than athletic, imagine rooting for the Anteater football team?! )

The school district has won. My son will be in state testing during that period and yes, he will lose class credits for missing 10 days of high school. I can't take that chance, he is real smart but not the best student (doesn't like to do homework). So, with a very heavy heart, I have just asked my wonderful travel agent to cancel this cruise. I will be back before the sail date to wish all you wonderful people a bon voyage!! I guess I won't be needing the spots in the Hummerzine..... I won't get to go to Bunco....

On a happy note, I wish all of you the very best time on this cruise and I hope to meet you on a future cruise.

Tammy, I am so sad that you have to cancel. I was looking forward to meeting you. Maybe some time in the future. Keep strong with WW. Remember that you are worth it

Tammy - sorry that you had to cancel. That is a bummer. Hopefully with the new ships the Panama Canal cruise will happen again at a better time for you and your son.

We tried to book that weekend but it is sold out. We will be going the weekend of the 12th!!

We looked at hotels that weekend, too, and couldn't figure out why there was nothing available that weekend. Now, I know. We'll probably just drive up for the meet and head home after.

You are going to see some wonderful places. I have been to Rome and Pompeii - just absolutely amazing. Pompeii is so moving and so well preserved. I haven't yet been to Barcelona, but friends have and it sounds and looks lovely. Italy will be hot, particularly in a city like Rome, and drinks cost so much in Rome too! Marseille and the surrounding area especially is nice too.

Last summer we travelled to London, Paris and Barcelona. By far Barcelona was the best city visited on this trip. Funny since just Molly was able to communicate in Spanish, unlike English in London (all of us of course) and DH & I speak a bit of French. The people of Barcelona were kind and friendly, th ecity itself beautiful and full of history. A warm feeling comes to me when I think of our weekend there & wonder when and how we can get back over there for a extended stay.

Hmmmm, any room to hide in the lifeboats on that med cruise????

Nov. 24 (the Sat. after Thanksgiving). I picked that week because the school I was originally going to put my son in has the week after Thanksgiving off. Now we're choosing a different school. Oh well!

University of Akron . . . our mascot is a Kangaroo - or in other words a "Zip". We are the Akron Zips. Our Mascot is Zippy the Kangaroo. He sure inspires fear into the hearts of his opponents! As you can see from this photo . . .

I want a "dog in this fight" I went to VA Tech.....the fighting HOKIES. At least people know what a Kangaroo or an Anteater is......

Love the mascots!! I have to say that my fav almost swung to Hokie (who doesn't love a castrated turkey??), but LiserAnn, I'm holding strong on Anteater. So totally not a warrior energy coming from that! (Ours was the home of the Pioneers...)
