How often do you DVCers go to Disney. We have already been in Sept and Jan and I really want to go back now in May for my B-Day. My husband thinks I am crazy but I miss it already. I am trying to talk him into a long weekend. Are you all as crazy as me? Please let me know I am not alone.

By the way I forgot to mention that we already are booked for Oct and a cruise for Sept 2008.

You're not crazy-it's just a symptom of DVC ownership!lol I used to be happy with our annual trip for a week, but now I need a long trip with my whole crew (10-17 days on average) and 2 shorter trips during the year, preferably spaced every season (almost).

You are not alone. We are going to WDW in Oct, Nov, Dec 07, (Seperate trips) and April 08. It helps that my wife is a big Disney Theme Park fan, so she is always game. We also take a few weekend trips a year to DLR (We Live about an hour away) We also have little kids, and have not found a more enjoyable vacation with kids than a Disney Property. We have not done the Cruise yet. Maybe next year.

I think I understand.

Hello my name is Isabel...I have a problem..I was there in November, a girls weekend Febuary and my hubby's 40th in March. We have a trip planned in June with friends but I am dying to go for Mothers day weekend. The air wasn't too bad. My hubby thinks I am nuts but I want to try to make a day in each month. I say its good to have goals :rotfl2: !! I probably will go for free dining for my bday in September and use the 1 day tickets towards my ap's.

No, you're not crazy. We have been members for 10 years, and we still try to go 2-3 times a year. Lately, we have been making it less but longer trips. We had an 11 night trip last December, we have an 8 night trip coming in May, and a 12 day trip planned in November. After November, we'll have to wait until next March!

OK, that was funny! :lmao:

No you're not crazy....as Diane says ....we try to go 2 to 3 times a year. DH and I went in October with friends to the F & WF, then in January with our three adult kids and 5 yr old grandson, and DH and I are taking our grandson in May for four days...just the 3 of us this trip. You will find, however, the more frequently you go, the less urgent you become about making sure you see a certain attraction or go on a certain ride.....simply because you know if you don't do it this trip you can do it in a few months. One thing I'm certain to do before every trip is check to see if any of my favorites are slated for long term or possibly permanent closing so I can make sure I do those things on my upcoming trip.

We go 4X a year on points (Jan, Sept, Nov, Dec) and usually one on cash (April/May) because that's when Disney Vacation Withdrawal usually kicks in.

We just bought an add-on at AKV to satiate our annual 5th trip.

We have been going aleast 2 times a year. But the past 3 years we have been their 3 times. Usually in March, Fall and New Years.. We have been members since 93. We have 753 points which give us a lot of time to play with.

Guilty!

It seems like everytime we try a new month, it becomes a tradition. So, now we are up to 5 times per year plus one additional trip for me as DW is in retail and can't leave during the Christmas rush (I go for Mousefest).

Thank goodness for cheap airfares.

We do May, August, October, December (Mousefest by myself), NYE and February. I'm almost afraid to try another time of the year.

We have been twice a year since we joined in 2004. This year it will be three times. We went in March, noticed cheap flights after returning and booked again for early May. We usually go for F&W in November but are ding the member cruise this year.

There is always something new to see or do...or bring friends and just hang out. This March we didn't hit the parks at all and aren't going to parks in May either. Helps that you know you will be returning....there is no urgency to 'do it all' every trip and you can relax and just enjoy being there.

We're tied to the school calendar and go three times - 2X in the summer and once during spring break. I'd like to be able to space out the trips more, but :teacher: I'm stuck in school.

Thank you all for your replies. I feel better. Now I have to let DH read this so he sees it's not just me.

That's why I always chuckle when I say I purchased my dvc membership to save money. Pre-DVC once every 2 years. Post -DVC membership, I'm now down to every 10 monts. Dh and I celebrated his 50th there in March and we will celebrate my youngest b-day in November.

We go once a year for at least two weeks. Being from California, we just can't go any more often than that. We go to Disneyland about every other month.

You I envy!!

Holy chowder! Am I the only one on the Dis who isn't retired, or do you all just have 2 months of vacation? I would spend all of my discretionary income going to Disney if I could get off work enough to actually spend the time there!

We did take 2 trips last year, and we'd like to make that the norm, but we really like to travel in the off-season (more bang for the points, less crowds), and it's difficult to take the kids out of school for too long. It is a good motivator for them though...keep the grades up and earn a week out of school in WDW!

Since we bought in '05 we've been at least twice a year. This year we have 3 trips planned. I'm sure our patterns will change when our son is in school.
