8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 13

They had a bigger one but I was afraid to post that one considering I didn't know the size. Didn't want it to be too big.

BTW, I know where the TF has gone - she graced our thread with about 5 or 6 tags this morning. And CCrash? Your wind post made its debut over there so now your infamous!

What a wonderful place! I have been a long time fan of Tom Sawyers Island and was not thrilled when the change was announced. They did a great job with the conversion of the island to a pirate theme. The main area (where fantasmic takes place) which was never anything special has now transformed into Lafitte's Tavern. You still can't go inside but a great feel for a staging area for the pirate show.

Flying high above Lafitte's Tavern was CJS flag that Todd so proudly showed us. And Todd I checked in the Pieces of Eight store and all they have are regular pirate flags.

Injun Joe's Cave is now Dead Man's Grotto. Same cave but skeletons and treasures have been added.

Also next to this is Davy Jones Chest where if you place your hand on it you can feel his heart beating. Very cool!

Next is Smuggler's Cove where the suspension bridge and barrel bridge are located. First they have added a bilge pump that you pump the water out of a sunken ship to reveal treasure and a skeleton.

Next to it is a turnstile (not sure of the nautical term for this) that you can turn to raise another treasure chest from another sunken ship.

As you turn the treasure rises out of the water.

but, there is something attached to the treasure.

Next to this is the Skeleton cage which you can climb into.

Next is the Pirate show at Lafitte's Tavern

There is also a meet and greet with CJS at the back end of the island where he is standing around piles of treasure.
Sorry if I overloaded you bandwidth with all of the pictures but I really wanted to share them with you. I will put together a slide show with all of the pictures I took and post that later.

Whenever we go to JAX I insist on at least one meal at Sonny's. Their BBQ is FANTASTIC!!!

Oh Lisa.......we have MUCH better BBQ here than that. My favorite being from Texas is a place called Cecils Tx BBQ.....wonderful.......we always use them to cater parties. We won't go near a Sonny's.

Kind of caught up and finished downloading pictures from yesterdays trip to Disneyland. Was walking by this and thought of Judy and chat and had to take a picture.

First let me start with the new Finding Nemo Submarine ride. It offically opens next Monday, but they had the subs out running yesterday (no one on them) but it was exciting seeing them again. They even have a bouy seen here with seagulls and "Mine, Mine, Mine".

OMG I had no clue they were doing this at DL. We just have Nemo everything else. Cool.......I am surprised they have not done a Nemo thing at CC like a snorkeling trail along the theme.

Todd, you are welcome. As I said I checked the pieces of eight store in New Orleans square and also all of the kiosks selling pirate goodies in the area. We also checked the big Disney store in DTD but to no avail. I was so hoping to find one of these for you.

Thanks for all your welcome homes for Taryn. We actually didn't get home from picking her up until 1:45 am! She hops in the car and announces "Tomorrow is an excused absence" Yeah, well, where is mine and your father's excused absence haaaa??? Got to bed at 2, fell asleep at 3 and the alarm went off at 5:30. Needless to say, it was a stellar Monday for DH and me. Taryn however, slept in til 11 and lunched with friends. STs YOU GOTTA LOVE EM!!! I am glad she's home safe and sound and very delighted that she had such an awesome time with her great buds. They are all going to different colleges and this was a last hurrah of sorts which is kind of sad..........

I had to have dinner now and still need to catch up some more, but I have decided that this Friday in chat I will definitely be the grand dame of manners and decorum. I swear you will not recognize me! Then the following week I'll go back to being my uncouth self

How is everyone.. i am not even gonna think about ketchup.. busy at work as it is last month of a qtr.. anyone want to buy some software???

I had Eric graduation party Sat night with DH's side of family, then his aunt stayed over and we went to a wedding shower on Sunday.. Today is rain.. and then tonight is Boy Scout Court of Honor.. Eric graduates wednesday, and Geoff has finals wed-Fri..

But Geoff and I leave for SWW on Friday right after he finished finals.... will take us all day to travel.. We have to go from Chicago to NY to Tampa to Orlando..

I usually read between 125-150 meters per day if they are inside meters. The meters I did today were all on the outside wall of the homes, so I can get more of them read per day. Tomorrow I have 265 meters scheduled to read, as they are just like to meters I read today. I am in the newer section of town for the next several weeks, so I will be able to get more accomplished........

Sounds like this may be better for the knees Andy. Did you ever figure how many miles you walk in a week???

Roger, Thanks for sharing. Maybe next time I will not avoid going to Tom Sawyer's Island. I bet out of 30 times going to Magic Kindom, I went to the island 3 times. I assume WDW will change the island too???
