Great report.
Looks like a fun time.
Thanks for saying so, it was a fun time. It was nice to get to bring a bit of Disney home to everyone at home.
Wow Tiffany--- Ottawa is breathtaking! So beautiful! No wonder you two fell in love there It looks like you, Simon, and your guests had a great time! That's so cute that everyone toasted along with your video! mmmm your brownie sundae sounds delicious, I want some right now I cannot wait to hear about the final stop!
I just Ottawa, and one of the reasons why I love it is because it is a city that is dedicated to health, fitness, and good living. When we were there on the Ottawa tour stop I saw countless people out running, cycling, etc. They close down the parkway on Sunday and it turns into a place where the entire city comes out to cycle, run and rollerblade. This is my favourite picture...
Below the hill you can see one of the many paths that they have. It was part of my favourite route while I was there. I just felt so lucky to first run by the Parliament buildings, then along the Ottawa river, cross the historic canals and finish in the market. It's a much nicer route than what I currently have (For safety reasons I can't run alone here in remote areas so I run by a really busy road. Not pretty at all.) Oh I miss it so much sometimes!
Tiffany, I love this installment. No wonder you and Zach (oops I mean Simon) fell in love in Ottawa. I would too-- that place is gorgeous and reminds me of London. Love it! Looks like a great trip this go round.
OKay-- so Simon reminds me a lot of the actor Zach Braff. He played in the movie "Garden State", was also on the show "Scrubs", etc. Heres his photo-- everytime I see Simon I think im lookin gat Zach Braff...haha..

Haha! Now that you mention it, I see it! I think I'll bug him about that later Once we were stopped in a restaurant and a woman said: "Does anyone ever tell you that you look like Tom Cruise?" OMG, he was on cloud 9. A bit vain that boy But I love him anyways
Thanks for loving Ottawa! I love getting to share it with all of you here. The feeling is actually similar to when I was exploring it for the first time.
Tiffany, I am so glad you posted your next instalment. Ottawa looks simply beautiful, it now has a high position on the list of places I want to visit, I absolutely love the buildings. You and Simon make such a beautiful couple, has Simon let his hair grow longer? It really suits him
I just realised I have talked to you for ages and I have no idea how old you both are, you both look so young, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to of course
Okay brownie sundae dessert, how can you tease me like that and not post the recipe???? I LOVE brownies and it sounds amazing, I'm waiting...
Thanks Summer! I hope you do get to come and visit Ottawa. It's beautiful in the summertime and there's a lot going on. Canada Day there is pretty amazing. Simon did let his hair grow out a bit -- he has a tendency to grow it, and then cut it too short -- which he did just last week. It's ok though because it gave me the opportunity I needed to go and get my hair cut (as he likes it long). When I see the opportunity, I take it We're both older than we look, though you're right we look younger. He's turning 29 in 2 weeks and I'll be 28 this November. We both still get carded at The Beer Store
This is my uber-deluxe, now-not-so-secret brownie sundae receipe:
The brownies:
1/2 cup butter
3 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 cups brown sugar
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Melt butter and chocolate together, then remove from heat and cool slightly.
3. Mix the rest of the ingredients (except chocolate chips) together in a medium sized bowl by hand.
4. Stir in the chocolate/butter.
5. Stir in chocolate chips.
6. Pour mix into greased pan.
7. Bake for 30 mins.
Then all you need to do to turn it into a sundae is to take a warm brownie (not hot, but warm), scoop vanilla ice cream on top, drizzle with hot fudge, and garnish with whipped cream.
These are VERY tasty, but they are...ahem....not diet friendly. So much so that I try to forget how good they are.
