Wow that is so beautiful. I love the idea of covering her tink wings.

Question is there a such thing as winter mermaids? :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: My daughter wants to be little mermaide next year and wants her twin sisters to be arieals sisters. Talk about freezing little bootys off.:dance3:. Just wanted to give everyone something to laugh about.

HEY GUYS!!! Guess What I saw today!!!??? Tessa in her all finished Cinderella outfit!!!! She looked GORGEOUS!!!!! But you all have to wait AGAIN!!! :rotfl:

What do you mean we have to wait, didn't you take any pictures of Heather's Cinderella Pumpkin outfit??? Don't you know most of us on here are impatient and want to see these creations NOW...okay okay...so is it just me? hahaha
Why do you think I mentioned it. ;)
speaking of NBC, on our list of do do's while we're here is taking the boy to see NBC in 3D:3dglasses in DTD. He saw it last year so it's really just an excuse for us to go.

It's almost 4 am and we just got back from DH's gig in St.Pete. Jeesh. Of course we had to go to Wally world after the gig, so I don't have to go tomorrow, I know my way around tampa/St.Pete so much better than O-town
OK, you'll never believe this. I was sitting here, sewing away , when I finished attaching the top tier of my soon to be patchwork tiered twirl dress when I reach into my sewing "stuff" and discover.....the 3rd tier didn't make it into the stash OMG, I about cried. well, the originally designed patchwork tiered twirl "skirt" turned into a dress b/c it was a little longer and it's hot here and we're going to wear it to Seaworld and just thought it would be cute as a dress, so frankly the 2 tiers w/ ruffle are plenty long enough to be a skirt. I'm going to tear down the 2 layer ruffle that was for the bottom of the 3rd tier and make it so it fits the 2nd and is only the 1 polkadot layer. My idea is to use the remaining ruffle to add to the bottom of her shirt (black with a glittery orange pumpkin-from Tar-get) We'll see how that goes.
GRRR
So initially I was totally bummed BUT I know that noone else will know (except all of you and everyone I complained to that I never get my way)that the skirt wasn't what I had planned to create and as we've said here many times our kids would be cute in potatoe sacks so I'll get over it. Though it does suck when you have a vision and a plan and you don't get to see it through to fruition. I guess I'm still getting over it:rolleyes: anyway I couldn't finish it earlier b/c I didn't have elastic, I'd only brought what I knew I needed to finish the dress (including scrap fabric but NOT the third tier) so I had to wait till my WM trip to pick up some. I will sew as soon as I am able to wake up today (it's 4:15 now) and try to get some pics up. Hopefully you guys will be around, looks like today was slow.

ALI if you read this before you leave I will be on the lookout for your cuties!

Goodnight goodnight, parting is such sweet sorrow that I should say good night till it be morrow.
...t.

I STILL can't wait to see some pictures!!! I am waiting VERY patiently here while you have so much fun there in Orlando!! All I ask for is some picutres. Is that too much??? :confused3 ;)

It is not just you! That is totally unfair and I demand to see the Cinderella outfit now!!!

Aww, I am sure it looks great! I asked my husband yesterday if we could go to Disney today and he looked at me as if I was crazy! Next year we are going to do the Halloween party for sure: I am so jealous of you and Allikat.

We just found out that our January trip conflicts with Jacob's soccer so we won't be going. :sad1: We will go on spring break in March, but that is a long time to wait! Wait, Teresa, when is your super big trip? Maybe I can convince my husband that we have to go then!

We are going in May. Yeah, you should go then! Although, we are thinking of making a trip overy your way too.

I haven't been sewing for about a month, but this week was motivated and found time.

I'm so proud of myself for completing sooo much this weekend. I also did 3 shirts for my DSIL and finished a pheasant cinderella top for my DN xmas present. I sewed the elastic on 3 tutu skirts and have one more to go. It's only Sunday morning! I only have my DS15mos here today, the other 2 are at grandma's so I have time to sew again.   3 minimum bananas right? Sorry for the long post, just haven't posted any completed projects for so long I got a little excited:woohoo: :woohoo:
WOW!!! I love these! My favorites are the Animal Kindgom outfits! Jambo!
Oh, Holly Hobby brings such memories. My DD Molly is now 37. When she was 5 I was so broke...flat broke and I bought a pattern and made her a Holly Hobby doll and a wardrobe of clothes for her....oh, and a free kitten from someone...She loved Holly HObby....

Susan
What a sweet Mommy!
Ok, so I finished the thanksgiving outfit, I think. Here is the 3 peices finished. I was thinking of still adding the apron but it might make it way tooo busy. a sash for the shirt and pants combo probably and maybe appliqueing GIVE THANKS on the bodice. I don't know, want to start on xmas already so I may just leave it the way it is..

Lori
Very cute Lori!

Wow! I think I am caught up! Sorry if I missed anyone, everything is absolutely fabulous though! Soooo glad I went to my 10 year reunion! I had a BLAST! It was soooo fun! We didn't get home until MIDNIGHT!
T-beri_ Sorry to hear about all of your problems, hope everything works out and you guys have a great time!

Also, YES my miss piggy had a purple dress and gloves! She has a sweet story behind her and such sentimental value! I hope I always have her! I should take a pic of her and put it in my avatar!:)

you should do that! What is the story behind your Miss Piggy? Share! I would scan the picture of Heather's Miss Piggy and share it, but my scanner is refusing to work!

You have the CUTEST kids!!!!

I finished Tessa's Cinderella pumpkin dress!! However, that's not what I'm posting because my computer is acting like a brat at the moment. So, here is Tessa's costume, instead! She wanted to be a fairy, but I talked her into being a "Winter fairy" seeing as how she'd freeze her butt off in the store-bought costumes. We went to a party yesterday, so she got to wear it. I just covered up her tinkerbell wings with this fabric so I didn't have to deal with trying to make them myself!

I was so frustrated with screwing up the dress that goes under the robe, I wasn't going to finish it. But, she looked so sad when I told her I wasn't going to finish it, that I went ahead and did it.
10-27-07underdress.jpg
S T U N N I N G!!!!!! She is SOOOOOOOOOOO beautiful!!!!!
Heather-

LOVE the darling girl (such a cute little thing), LOVE the dress and the cotume (can TOTALLY understand why you had to finish it because of the look of disappointment on DD's face)

But PLEASE TELL ME.......

What the heck is that HAIRY THING on the fireplace ???

That does look weird doesn't it!!! :lmao: That picture isn't Heather's house (the other two are), it was at the party she went to.
But, I would like to vote for it being Heather's wig when she wants to feel really perty!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: :thumbsup2

Question for anyone who has done the Disney Cruise....I am considering doing a cruise. Did you enjoy it? Is it better than spending the entire week at WDW? Did you get seasick?

Susan

We love the Disney Cruise. The last time we went was in 2004. Seven days on the Magic. We went with a big group of people, about 18 people - 6 families. No got seasick. Some of the adults missed having a casino on board. Most adults LOVED the adults-only pool area. There are so many kids on board that it's nice to get away from them. It's so quiet there.

My husband likes going to different islands more than having days at sea. He's not much for laying out. He enjoyed touring the kitchen. He's ready to go on another one, more so than going back to WDW.

There are characters on the boat. They sign autographs. The kids enjoyed the Kid's Club. My kids were too young for the club and went to Flounder's Reef (the nursery) a few times.

No one loved the food.

I don't know that I can really compare the two. It's just 2 different types of trips.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

I can't wait to see the Cinderella pumpkin dress!

Tessa looks so beautiful in these pictures! Stunning! Love her hair. You did a great job on the costume, too.

ok, my kids went to a halloween party last night!
Queen of hearts, ALice and nicholas wore his Crackerjaxs boy outfit from the box. His white rabbit he will wear on halloween.

Lori

Love all of the outfits, but the Crackerjax costume is the cutest! He's so adorable!

You guys are soooo lucky to have places that sales those beautiful Disney fabrics... I am really restrited on choice... I would LOVE to have some Nightmare before Xmas fabric... can anyone help me? Please pm me and we can arrange something!

LOL!! I guess I should have mentioned that picture was taken at a Halloween party. I really have no idea what that thing was. There were all sorts of strange things on their fireplace. The woman who lives there said it was a character from a book or something. It looked like it was a trick or treat basket of some kind. :confused3

Heather-

LOVE the darling girl (such a cute little thing), LOVE the dress and the cotume (can TOTALLY understand why you had to finish it because of the look of disappointment on DD's face)

Love love love the costumes. so creative!!

I have to say, I really like the queen of hearts costume. That was a great idea! The dress I made my little one, I posted it a while back, was red and white polka dots with a minnie appliqued on the front, I had her wear it this weekend as a minnie costume, and bought her minnie ears from the disney store. We went camping, and she won best costume in her age group!!!:rotfl: I couldn't find a costume that suited her, so she ended up with that.

I am working on some skirts for the girls now, and procrastinating putting the ruffles on. I do need to get to it, since my kitchen table is filled with sewing stuff. Oh well, it's fun and I guress I can look at the mess a little longer.:scared1:

I don't have an avatar and I enjoy reading your long posts. I sometimes only have a minute or two to play "catch up" on this thread, so it's hard to comment. When I get some time, I'll have to look into this avatar stuff.
Yes, you certainly will...<----insert smiley checking his watch, tapping his foot right here.

These are both adorable!!

And yes my hubby did stop to buy the Dr his banana cream pie on the way to the hospital.
Sorry If i grossed anyone out but I wanted to share my stories to.
I was SO not grossed out and I loved reading your birth stories. It sounds like you had a pretty scary time after the twins were born. As for the banana cream pie- :rotfl2:

You caught me. This thread goes so fast that I usually just look at the pretty pictures and only read every once in awhile.
I also have a habit of getting you and your sister confused.
I did go on your blog thingie one time though and read about you and your husband.
or your sister and her husband. :rotfl2:
I get confused too easily!!!!
But from now on, I will be sure to skim your posts for any interesting poop stories.
Well, both my sister and I have websites with stories...I can't remember if she has a story about how she met her husband, though. Just remember I'm the WAY funnier one ;) and I humiliate my husband with every post without a single thought to his feelings (on wearing lime green mickey ears).
Yes, you must read all my posts, you never know when an interesting bodily function story might pop up!

OK, HeatherSue - just because you asked (and it was about time I did) I got myself an avatar AND a siggy! I'm a cool kid now!

With DS (4), my water broke on its own at 4:30 in the morning on March 2, 2003. I add the date in because I REALLY wanted his birthday to be 3/3/03.

th_pirateshirt2.jpg
Sorry for the ginormously long post!
First of all, don't you make me make any more rules for apologizing!!!
Secondly, Tessa was born on March 19, 2003, so our kiddos are really close in age! Third, I LOVE your avatar and your siggy. But, you were already cool. :cool2: Fourth, LOVE the pirate outfit!!!!

My sister bought me these red silky pj bottoms & I had to change because I slid right off the couch!
:lmao: That is a hilarious mental image!

So cute! She looks like a little punk rocker! Love the low-rider Mickey ears!

Great job on the costumes!! The kids are SO cute!

Wow, you're really on top of things! You have the Christmas outfit done already!? It's really cute, too!

LOOK LOOK LOOK!!!!!!!!! I have a REALL TAG!!!!!! OH BOY!!!!! The tag fairy likes me, she really likes me!!!!!!
Yah, know, not that that's a big deal or anything. Just thought you all might not have noticed. So, I thought I'd point it out.

I'M SO STINKIN EXCITED!!!!!! YEAH! MY GLOW IN THE DARK RIC RAC IS FAMOUS NOW!!!!

Thanks tagfairy!!!!!

Your kids are all so cute!!!! I'm glad you had such a fun time. I can't wait to read your TR!

By the way, did you notice my tag!!!!??!!!

WHAT!?!?!?!?!? You HAVEN'T seen NBC???? I'm not sure but I think that is a crime punishable by death in some countries.

...t.
I haven't seen it either! It looks so creepy and icky!

People get us confused in real life all the time too! She's so pretty, I don't mind!
But, to be fair, the nurse had told everyone who was there (my entire family waiting out there for me for so long!) that I was tired and needed my rest. :sad2: (It's on the video, so I know it's true!)
You're so sweet! But, no one has ever told me that I was H-O-T ssss, or that I look just like Demi Moore. The only celebrity I've been compared to was Pam from the Office (thank you Steph, I will treasure it always). Plus, that was just saying that the picture of me with my face mostly covered looked like Pam from the office. What I'm getting at is that my sister is gorgeous!

I never would have left you all alone if it wasn't for that stinkin' nurse! I thought you must have told her that you wanted to sleep!

Oh crud! I have a potluck to go to tomorrow, and I said I'd make a cake. A cake I've made countless times before. But, wouldn't you know it, I couldn't find my recipe, and had to look up one online. And, I am using a different cake pan than usual. So, I burnt it a bit!
Watergate cake....mmmmmm.......

This picture is so cute! You guys made some really cool pumpkins!

Wait, Teresa, when is your super big trip? Maybe I can convince my husband that we have to go then!
We're going from May 3-May 17!!! See, this is why people confuse us because I answer for her.

My husband gets extremely seasick and got a patch from a pharmacy before we left. The first night was really rocky and he was a little queasy, but was fine from then on. I think if he didn't have the patch he would have been terribly sick.

I can't convince my husband to go on a cruise for this very reason. Frankly, I'm a little scared that he WOULD be sick the whole time and that wouldn't be fun for me, either.

That is turning out really cute, Lisa!

Also, YES my miss piggy had a purple dress and gloves! She has a sweet story behind her and such sentimental value! I hope I always have her! I should take a pic of her and put it in my avatar!:)
I MUST see your picture of Miss Piggy! I loved my Miss Piggy puppet! I used to make her say "Hy-A" and flap her arms at people all the time. Aaah..memories...

TeresaJoyce- SWEET NEW TAG, Sister! Very happy for you!!!!

Spongealicious- Girlfriend, I yam SO glad you're home!!!!! Your pirates look so adorable!!!!

Everyone- I've been ridiculously behind because I had to make some seriously obscure POKEMON TRAINER costumes from scratch---pictures to follow (act like you know who the Sam-Hill they are!). Funny, The boys in the PokeMon demographic (ages 9-18) totally know who my boys were! I was dumfounded...but my boys thought they looked like the trainers at our church's "Trunk or Treat" last night, so I guess that's all that matters. The best part was I was able to purchase all the elements at our new DI Thrift Store for cheap and just sewed a little...I'll explain when I post the pics. A glue gun was involved at the very last because we were running late :rolleyes1

Norah finally got to wear her Alice and was a huge hit, thankfully. But for "tricker treating" she'll be her witch again...with her mama witch!

caitynkenziehalloween.jpg

Here is a pic of my girls at their halloween party this weekend. We were at Carter Caves, KY. Caitlyn, my oldest, was Hannah Montanna, and Mackenzie was minnie. I will upload better costume pics later. I am off to bed.

These are two of my Thanksgiving outfits. I've loved this pumpkin fabric for a long time, but never knew what I would do with it. Then someone posted a cute outfit on here using the same fabric along with this green and gave me these ideas.

For dd2:

For dd7:

GREAT costumes! The kracker jacks boy is such an original idea. Your little "Alice" always reminds me of what my SIL might have looked like as a little girl- SO cute!

Thesea are all great! The kissing booth has to be my favorite. How funny!

Question for you all! Why do you sew?
th_IMG_3177.jpg
CUTE picture!! I sew because 1. The feeling of accomplishment I get when I complete a cute outfit 2. Because I love to design stuff the way I want it 3. I want my kids to have something "different" 4. The most important reason- so all of you will say that you like it!

Looks like Cousin it has aged some is what it looks like!! Did you notice 'it's' plugged in??

Eh......... may it's Heather's wig... you know.... for the times she wants to feel extra special! :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: How did you know!?

QUOTE]Question is there a such thing as winter mermaids? :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: My daughter wants to be little mermaide next year and wants her twin sisters to be arieals sisters. Talk about freezing little bootys off.:dance3:. Just wanted to give everyone something to laugh about.
Sure, there are winter mermaids in the Atlantic!! They have fur instead of scales!

LOOK LOOK LOOK!!!!!!!!! I have a REALL TAG!!!!!! OH BOY!!!!! The tag fairy likes me, she really likes me!!!!!!

WOO-HOO!!!:woohoo: I have a famous sister!!:woohoo:
Does anyone else read that last line and think of that old M&M's (I think) commercial where the little kid says "Thanks Easter Bunny"?

Your family is so absolutely adorable!!!! I can't wait for your TR!!

My gosh that girl is gorgeous! Great job on the costume, but then again Tessa would look adorable in a flour sack!
Thank you! I think she's gorgeous, but I may be a little biased!
