Okay, I finally caught up! DD has dropped her nap I think. Hasn't napped all week. I've let her cry in her crib long enough to shower and stuff, but that was my prime DISing and Cleaning time!
I think Terri said something similar, but I had one DS give up his nap really early. (Her future SIL, now 15.) I would have him play in his room, same thing, he could listen to music, look at books, play with toys, anything he wanted. We called it quiet time. That gave me time to get a few things done, and when "quiet time" was over I always told him it was "him" time and we could do something HE chose.
Okay, now this is slow. We went to Outback for dinner tonite. I knew DH really needed a relaxing evening so I tried really hard not to think about the fact that we had no budget for this money. And on the way there he got distracted and drove into opposing traffic!!! He had to go up over the hump in the middle of the roadway to get back. And of course he has to "volunteer" again tomorrow at work.
Ohhhh...scary!
Sounds like the guy is wearing himself out.
On the out to eat front, there are a couple of things we have done when we're feeling pinched. One, look for coupons! Two, eat lunch out. Sometimes on the weekend when we feel like we want to eat out but want to use money for something else, we have found if you eat lunch it is less expensive because the portions are smaller. Still, you get that eating out experience and having a sandwich for dinner is just fine!
Oh yeah, I've never been to Outback, but there is one right next door to the Weight Watchers meeting place I go to and it smells really good when I walk out of the meetings!
Oh....that's harsh. I used to have something similar where I go exercise. Outside of the strip mall there was a breakfast/barbeque place. So no matter what time you came out of the place after working out, you either could smell bacon, smoked meat.... Made the walk to the car seem a little longer.
Hmm, today we were out late because of karate belt testing, so we stopped by Arby's to get some dinner (we like, never get Arby's so it was like a treat sort of). Well we got in the store and they tell us, "Oh, we're out of roast beef."
That's like KFC being out of chicken! So we had to drive a ways away to find another one.
OK, that's just mean!
We had something similar happen to us at a Dunkin Donuts in NH...What??? No donuts!!!
LAST DAY of work at Wegmans!
This is how I feel today
.
I'm sure you have a lot of mixed emotions. Just remember, better things ahead!
I just saw pictures of Va. Beach from yesterday. I hope Lynn made it ok.
I didn't see them, but I can imagine, that storm was getting pretty close to the coast. Hopefully she is fine.
Good morning!
How weird! I was at Starbuck's once and the guy told me they were out of coffee. Luckily, he was just kidding...
I had a great day yesterday in Berkeley! The walk we went on was actually on the campus--which was nice. I've only really seen the campus before through the eyes of my DS or my DH (who did undergrad there) and that's mainly the science and math departments. I saw areas I'd never seen!!!
We took DS out for an early dinner (he had forgotten about breakfast and wasn't able to do that, so we hung around all day and settled for dinner). It was so good to see him! We went to a great tapas place and ate and ate and ate!
When we went to pick him up, he emerged with a small MOHAWK! Turns out he'd gotten a haircut to be Forrest Gump for Halloween, and the guy who cut it, cut it real short on the sides and longer on top. DS had been messing around with it that morning and decided to make the long part all stick up. It was hysterical! He's never been a rebellious sort--in fact he's pretty straight-laced--which made it all the funnier! I kept calling him "Mohawk-Boy."
I've got a meeting this morning, so I'll have to go pretty soon.
The Mohawk thing is really cute...it's fun when you see them let their hair down (or whatever
) once in awhile.
Sounds like a great day....
And did youtell the guy at Starbucks he shouldn't do that to a middle aged woman!
