only about 3 weeks to go...the time will go faster than we think!

last year i put the tree up on dec 23, shopped on the 24th and did burger king for the 25th.

i am way ahead of it all this year.
i asked the sons what do they want for presents.
they'll tell me hopefully by the 22nd.......

i take mr mac on the history and geneology trips.
we do civil war stuff together.

he is no fun at a theme park.

i love going solo to vacations.
i can eat ice cream at 7 in the morning.
i can eat eggs for dinner at night and no one is telling me the stuff i am eating is not nutritionally balanced.

i do not cook, clean, iron, answer phones, shop for food on my vacations.
if i want to have the tv on all night, so be it.
if i don't want to tidy up my room before i leave in the morning, hey, who is to complain.........

I'd feel guilty going without my boys.... Our vacation every summer is a "family" ordeal....while we are at UO, DH's brother and all his (and his wife's) family come and stay at the parks too (that's how we got to be a party of 18 this summer ), then we spend the 4th of July week at FIL's...his birthday....with DH's brother and family..... It's just a big family time for us when we're down there...the only time we see them (cuz let's face it, who in their right mind WANTS to come to Pennsylvania for vacation? )..... So, until FIL passes, that is what we do....

And, I'm rather 'messy' on vacation too...altho, I DO have to do laundry, cuz I simply am NOT packing 17 days worth of clothes! I don't mind a few loads...throw some in, jump in the pool...transfer and fold...back in the pool....

Even when MIL was still with us, I'd give her a perm while down there on vacation. Would wrap her up, put solution on, jump in pool for 20 while she cooked Never had SO MUCH FUN doing a perm! Ahhh...the good ole days.....

I have not watched it but have always thought it looked like it would be good. Glad to hear tonight's was good, it looked like it was gonna be.

Somedays my Mom eats eggs for dinner and ice cream for breakfast.... (she lives alone, who really cares?)

well, you are lucky, you like your family....


i always took the boys on vacations each year to places they wanted to go to. and then we would do a camping vacation with the boys and mr mac, like in family vacation.

i would take them to amusement parks, disney and universal, kiddie land in chgo, medieval times...............and anyplace that had an older cemetery.

camping would be near by or far away......
canada, galena, southern illinois, etc.


once the boys were 16, we could not organize orlando vacations together.
would take each one separately or 2 of them at a time.

now i can swing a solo trip only one time during the year.

Lori....it IS a good show...really good writing....
I have all the seasons on DVD (and hopefully the 3rd for Xmas) if you'd like to borrow them and catch-up.... I know in the beginning, I saw a news interview that DH had a 7 year contract...so, it'll be on for at least 7 seasons.... So, if you want to borrow them, I'll send them to you.... A friend of mine borrowed the first season and returned it in a week! It was that good...she watched the whole season! The only thing is this season...you might have to watch online, tape/watch reruns (with writers strike, shouldn't be a problem ) to catch up..... But, the offer is there for you, or anyone, who wants....
