This is the outfit that I'm currently CASEing. It's a shame that it's on Voldemort for $185...it's crazy...I could make about 5 outfits for that much money...Anyway I finished the top, it's a pretty simple style. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the ribbon trim on the pants. Do you think it would look just as good with a red and white dot ruffle on the bottom instead?

I like the look of that, and I agree I think the ruffle would look cute!

I think it will look great! I've been looking at this outfit too! I may start CASEing it next. When are you going to WDW? Our kids may be dressed a lot alike! :)

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to show you all the cinderella pillowcase dress that i made for tahlia. I CASEd it off 2CUTEKIDS, i hope thats ok. I made mine into a dress though, because tahlia is another child who doesn't like to wear pants/jeans.

It looks a little wronky on the hanger, and her face is not creased like that.

Sometimes I tend to go a little overboard.......... what do you think about covering a button and putting it over the earring?

That is a cute idea. I may have to do that to mine too! I found some buttons that are like big diamonds. One of those would be perfect!!
Thanks!:):thumbsup2

I thik it would be really cute with a ruffle on the bottom. That set is very cute! I've not seen that one. I may need to CASE it too!

OOH, OOH! What about one of those buttons that looks like a diamond. That would cool!

SO, maybe we should all start taking a changes of customs for our kiddos into the park so when people ask, we can sell the clothes off their backs and put on the next custom! I wonder how many sets to be sold in a day would be the record!:rotfl: :rotfl:

One of my DGD wore one of my first custom outfits to a Festival and came back very indignant(sp?). She told me that her Daddy tried to "sell" her outfit three times that day and she would have had to come home NAKIT!!!

From then on anytime she puts on one of my customs (my DGDs are my primary models so I make the prototypes in their sizes) she wags her finger at her Daddy and tells him he can't "sell" it while she is wearing it.

Personally, I think it would look better with a red/white dot ruffle. I'm not a fan of the ribbon trim.

THat's hysterical! Did you ever get a pic of her wagging her finger?

Hi - this outfit is soooooo cute!! what pattern did you use? this material is on clearance at my walmart (disconinuing the fabric department) and I think i want to make this for my DN Hannah!! she would flip!!

Does anyone have a simple plain jumper pattern? I found this "tiki pooh" panel at joann's on clearance, and I was thinking of using the characters as appliques - they are big, but i still think at least part of it would work!!!

thanks, wendy

ON TOPIC... I am trying to get to work on some things (though, non DIS) I have started. I have all the strips cut for a double layer stripwork skirt w/ elephants. I was going to make it a jumper but I'm considering not. I'd like to make a pair of pants w/ the elephants appliqued, but you know how the "A" word scares me. This outfit is a knock off of one of maybe 2cutekids...I'm not sure, but it had a zoo type print and a girraffe applique. Then I am trying to make a stripwork twirl top (from YCMT) that has a corset style back. I have some really gret calico prints that I bought like a year ago to make some shabby chic curtains for Littles room. B decided he wants to do an animal theme and since I'd been eyeing the fabric for outfits anyway I didnt' argue w/ him. I'd like to make something for the littles of the girls who helped my family have christmas and I think that I may make them some twirl tops w/ what I have left over. They are cousins and they are both 1.5 I have Littles day of the dead outfit cut out completely and some of it sewn, but I have to add a zipper and well, I'm gonna do that one w/ a chaperone. I hope to get this weekend off and sew sew sew. Maybe I'll get something done before then, I'm only scheduled til 5:00 every day this week so maybe I'll have an evening to sew some.

Hopefully I'll have some pictures next weekend.

No, no "finger Wagging" pictures but I have created a "monster". She no longer will wear "plain" clothes....she only wants to wear "the fancy ones Nana makes" :lmao: :lmao: Riley (yep, there's that name again..:rotfl2: ) was informed that in September she will be in kindergarden and will have to wear a uniform to school.....OMG the stunned look on her face was priceless....I don't know how my daughter is going to get her to stop wearing customs to school without a terrible fight every morning. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Nana

My base pattern was McCall's 4813 but I believe it is out of print (try their web site to see if they are still selling it) I changed a few things, added ruffles, changed lengths...Nana

I love that you sold them right from her head...too funny! I get asked all the time, especially at Disney where we got their outfits, and then offers to buy them. It's like the parents freak out that they didn't think of custom outfits, and just have to have them at the last minute. I feel really bad when my daughters get a lot of attention, and regularly dressed kids are standing by to witness it. But I'm totally hooked. They won't to Disney without a custom again....LOL
The last time that we went to WDW I made DD some regular clothes. i had never thought that I could make the Disney customs that you guys have been making. This year she is having all customs the entire time we are there. I'm glad that I found this thread. Her cousins are getting jealous of all of the pretty things that I have been making for her. I need to make them all something. Then they will have pretty things too.

SO, maybe we should all start taking a changes of customs for our kiddos into the park so when people ask, we can sell the clothes off their backs and put on the next custom! I wonder how many sets to be sold in a day would be the record!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I would bring extras with me but this year we are going in DH's hybrid and right now we are questioning if all the stuff that we normally bring with us will fit in car.:rotfl: Hybrids good for saving gas money bad for those who carry alot of stuff.

Wendy,
I just checked mccallspatterns.com and they do have this pattern (4813) available in their out-of-print patterns. It is $10.95 so if you can get this pattern for less on :wizard: Voldemort I would try it first. Nana

My kids are in a uniformed public school, also, and Brianna only wants to wear dresses I make. I ended up contacting the school, and askingif I could make he jumpers, and how strict they were about the uniforms. I don't know about Riley's school, but Brianna's is pretty lenient as long as the colors are right. I ended up having to make about 9 jumpers. The two I had bought, I embroidered with navy princesses on the Navy Jumper....she'll wear them sometimes.

Good luck. I don't know how bad things would be if Brianna couldn't wear her customs to school.

OOOHH!!!! WAY ON TOPIC!!!! I found a peasant top that I'd cut out of Faeries material(leftovers from my FQ swap) before christmas. I am working on it NOW.
