Just got word from my Uncle...my cousin was taken to the hospital under the impression it was her appendix that burst...it wasn't... it was an overy....so both were removed...she was sent home and the meds she was on caused her to get violently ill...she is back in the hospital on new meds and iv's....Last year the lost their wife/mother to cancer (it was very bad) now this...please keep them on your prayer list...

Interesting about tourist impressions. I have only been in Paris once, when I was 16. I thought it was dirty and the people were rude. This was over 30 yrs ago. I was with a school group. The teacher we were with said it was quaint. I had just spent 2 months living in Wash DC where all the monuments are shinning white and to see the monuments in Paris all dirty was so disrespectful to me. Our teacher said the dirt was quaint. I said tell that to my mom about my room!

Southeastern MI isn't the best. I work in Detroit. Like everywhere, there are good points and bad. I love Wyandotte. Old fashion and we actually have some buildings that are over 100 yrs old. Great parks and a nice riverfront. My sinsuses liked CA, I didn't like LA.

Ever since the captives were rescued in Colombia, I've been waiting for more people to be worried about THAT port. Even that doesn't scare me...I'm REALLY looking forward to Cartegena.

It worries me a little, but we're booked on a DCL shore excursion. My hope is that we're safer on something coordinated by DCL than just roaming the streets. Plus they'll have to get through how many cruisers on vacation? I'm not too worried. My mom is, but I told her what's life without a few risks? Not sure that it calmed her down, but it was worth a try!

Interesting how people have different perspectives. I love visiting London (though you're right about the expensive part). I do hope to get to New Zealand someday (refueling stop on the way to Australia doesn't count).

I've travelled quite a bit around the world, and around the U.S. And there are many very nice places. But I do find it hard to imagine leaving California.

I mean yes, the ground is shaky, taxes and cost of living high, and there's either not enough water or too much and half the state is on fire between May and October.

But the weather is as close to perfect as one can hope to find. You can hike a redwood forest, surf in the Pacific, and go skiing in a single day. And if you're a tech geek like me... well, there's simply nothing like Silicon Valley. And though I don't live in Southern California any more, DLR is just a short flight or 5-6 hour drive down highway 5.

Not suggesting anyone should move here - just, it's hard for me to really see myself living anywhere else....

I haven't traveled too much, but every time we do, I'm always excited to be home. Sure, SoCal has it's problems too, but it's home. I thnk we all get used to where we call home and can't imagine being somewhere else. IMO...It's all about what you make of where you live and not the actual location.

We'd be interested, but it's not a necessity. Maybe he'd be willing to do only one of the shirts instead of both (black or white). If they were screen printed, he should already have the screens done for the shirts, so printing more shouldn't be too big of a deal. I think it would really be the cost of purhasing fewer shirts this time that will add up the cost.

The tours are set, Mr E has 4 busses and 1 van on hold and will get another van if needed. I need to get confirmation from him on the price of #5 he gets back from vacation the first of next week. I will probably use my paypay to collect $ from everyone. I have to pay him cash the day off. I am going to try to get everything collected by the 1st.

Being so busy with the store remodel has really crimped my time. If the stupid city had cooperated it would have been done in March. Now I am just trying to cooridinate it so it is done by the 22nd.

I see England as dirty, cold, wet, grey, council estates with lifts that smell like urine etc, etc. Oh and its very expensive too... after seeing how my remaining family in the UK live, I'm very, very grateful that my parents decided to immigrate to New Zealand.


Being from England so sorry you feel like that and know there are places all over the world that do not reflect the true beauty of the country. We all have our own preferences be it towns villages,mountains or the seaside.
There is still a lot of beauty to be found and certainly love our heritage and would miss that if I left. It is possible to be here in Kent with its stately homes such as Leeds Castle and Ightham Mote and be within reasonable driving distance of Cornwall, The Lake District and Scotland with the variety of beauty to be found in each of these.

I was thinking of you over the weekend. My DH had to go in for a first time MRI and cat scan due to chronic head pressure, and I remember what you said about when your DH had to get it done. I know that my DH was definitely NOT happy....said it freaked him out!

I am off to get the last reminent of my surgery in March worked on. There is still a extra bump of skin where they did the repair. They have now realized it is not going away on its own so now I go for the 4th procedure or surgery.
They are going to do dermabrasion to get it down. In lay terms, they are going to sand it down. This does not sound like a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

Morning all! Hope everyone is OK. Got my new glasses and am trying to get use to them. They are way stronger than I'm use to.

Webkinz- the good, the bad, the ugly! DD has at least a dozen of them. She is mad at me. I held back 2 tags for her to enter later. They are all the rage right now at her school. They banned Webkinz, because at lunch they were getting married and have more Webkinz! Kids!

I guess I'm a bad adult. I coordinate Box Tops for Education and I have a Webkinz promotion going on till the October deadline. I made a special Wacky Webkinz Box Tops Friends collection sheet and will have a drawing for some Webkinz and trading cards. Hopefully it will bring in a lot of Box Tops.

oh I hear ya...DD was involved in the Box Top promotion for the last few months of school. We collected so many box tops and had many sheets filled out...but she still didn't win! Now that she knows there are Webkinz are onboard, she is saving her money....

Oh, I am so sorry for her. Too bad they cannot frezze eggs as they can sperm. My understanding is they can freeze sperm and fertlized eggs but not eggs by themselves.

oh I hear ya...DD was involved in the Box Top promotion for the last few months of school. We collected so many box tops and had many sheets filled out...but she still didn't win! Now that she knows there are Webkinz are onboard, she is saving her money....

I was shocked when we were in WDW in April and they had Webkinz in the gift shops! I figured they wouldn't have them (they aren't Disney!) DD bought the Luck Zingot? We have a local drug store that carries them and they have a club. If you buy 10 you get one free. Funny we haven't seen the Zingot at any shops around home.
