Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

Ok--so the results were posted last night!

There were 136 teams in Basic (the division we all were in) and here is how our teams did:

Dis Divas (Mary Jo, Lesley, Chris and Kelly) came in 41st with a score of 384 points.

The Lost Girlz (Wendy, Michelle, Dawn and Cheryl) came in 81st with a score of 300.

Tink's Treasurehunters (Linda, Bree, Amy and Stacie) came in 119th with a score of 214.

Maximum score was 570 points!

Woohoo--I think we all did great!

:cheer2:

Wow you ladies did really great!!

and one more thing:

No Basic team had a perfect quest score, which is why even the top teams scored 50+ points less than the maximum score. Each of the top Basic teams missed one quest, but they didn't miss the same quest.

I still have to catch up, but I wanted to post right away and say something to cheer Wendy up and brighten anyone else's day! First of all, I hope you and your mom are feeling better today from your little fender bender. Last night when I picked up my 2 1/2 year old niece to squeeze her, she hugged my neck and saw the necklace you gave me and saw the Mickey head. Her eyes lit up and she said, "OOOOOH EEEIIIS MeeCKEY MOUSE!" and cupped her hand over her mouth and called "Oh Toodles!" and swayed back and forth. That's her favorite show!

I went to a fashion show at my church today where my oldest niece, brother, and dad modeled clothes from local vendors to raise money for the church. They did raffles and tons of door prizes. Guess what? I won a $25 gift card to Stone Creek (its a restaurant, I don't know if it's a chain but its really good... I gave it to my parents though) but I never win anything! :cool1:

I hope everyone is having a magical day :wizard: I'll periodically catch up and do the bulk of it after I go back to my parents house and have big girl Disney movie night with Ellie. We're watching Enchanted! I need to soak up my princess while I have her around princess:

Wow! You all did great!!! Especially after all the pre-partying that was going on;)
I'm hoping I can join a team next year.

Congrats on your win. And that was so nice of you to give it to your parents!

Well I'm going to go sit in the back yard and play some cards with Marty and enjoy some Chili Queso with Fritos.
See you later!

So where have all the drive by newbies gone? Did you guys scare them all away? So many have stopped by to say hi and that they are interested in the trip, yet they never have come back. What gives?
I'm not sure. I personally think the trip is still pretty far away. I mean, it is over 9 months. While there is planning taking place now, it's simple things like tees, and groups rides, etc. Nothing to sign up for yet.

However, having said that, I will say that the more you put into this group, the more you will get back from it. I realize not everyone has the time to keep up with such a fast moving thread, but just taking time to get to know everyone a little will go towards making the trip seem much more fun.

After months of chatting, it's not like meeting a group of strangers. It's like meeting up with good friends. :goodvibes So hopefully those who are new, or those who are lurking thinking of joining will eventually decide to post as often as they can and get to know us, as well as give us a chance to get to know them. :thumbsup2

And if you're not buying that, then let's just say my whip scared them all off. You can blame it on me. :rotfl2:

Hey I'm a newbie and I've stuck around!
And we're so glad you have!!!

Boo Bear is like a regular...and Laurie, too. Oh, and Courtney. She is such a sweetie.:cutie:
They all fit right in with us loonies. Of course, we have a lot of fun, too!
Don't forget Janelle, Christine and Vicki. I already think of them as part of the group too. :goodvibes

After naptime we have plans to go to the Strip and have a late lunch & frrrrrrozen hot chocolate at Serendipity 3. I would guess that we'll also take a stroll through the Forum Shoppes and Via Bellagio as well. I honestly don't remember the last time I was on the Strip, so this will be fun!!!
:rotfl2: Jane, you never go to the Strip and when you finally do you pick a super hot, super busy Saturday to do it?? :scared1:
You're cracking me up. Hope you had fun!

Talked with a property mgr from the Anaheim area......he's willing to work with us to find a place (even with horrendous credit.....but awesome rental history) but the big problem is.......someone has to be employed! Real catch-22, need a home to be in the area to find work & have to have work to rent a place in the area....... my poor brain is exhausted in trying to figure this out!!
Bleh! When we moved here from MI, Ruben flew out to do a job interview, got the job, and then we moved without a place to live! We spent the first week here in a hotel while we toured houses with an agent. Luckily we found a real nice one right away, and they didn't mind that we had just moved and he hadn't started working yet. As long as they had a note from his employer, and we put down a double security deposit (which we got back after 6 months) then we were fine.

Anyway, good luck! :wizard:

I am still here and have been skimming through the last few days but I am not much for chatter. Once I decide whether I will be going I will join in more, especially once there is more actual planning going on.
Hi Carol! Glad to see you are still hanging in there. :)

Morning ladies!!! Kellybell from the DISign boards has come up with two possible t-shirt designs for next year:

disdivaminnie_2010.jpg

and

piratedivas_2010.jpg

My personal fave is the second one and I think that one would look super on a black t-shirt (and would be great with a long sleeve pink shirt underneath for layering, if needed).

What do you think???
I think I love them!! They are both cute, so I could do either one.

Anyone else have any other submissions yet? We still have time of course, but feel free to come up with an idea and we can submit them all for a vote. :thumbsup2

This morning...Ayden let me sleep in till EIGHT!!!!!! I haven't slept till 8 in at least a year. Chris also made me a really nice breakfast. Has he been snooping on the boards?? LOL
Aww, Janelle, that sounds nice. And the card and flower pot sound so cute!! :goodvibes

I debating starting a blog, and am looking into it. They say you can even make a little money if you do one good enough that people read it. What do you all think, would you read my blog, or do you get enough of me here!? :rotfl:
I would read it!

I will post pics of them when I can. Same with my garden. After seeing pics of Linda's thought I'd share mine too. I love to garden!
Can't wait to see those pics.

I like the 2nd one but not a fan of black shirts (I know...flattering but I just don't do black well) I tend to wash out in them as I am quite pale.
I am ghostly pale too. It's ok. We can rock the black and get a goth look going on. Kind of vampire-ish. We'll be cool in our black clothes with our white faces. ;) :rotfl:

The Northridge one was really scary. I remember standing in the hallway with my parents and hearing the light bulbs from the streetlights popping outside.
I lived in Glendale at the time and worked in Sherman Oaks. :scared1: The store I worked at in the Sherman Oaks Galleria was destroyed. If I'd been at work when it happened, well, I'm not sure what would have happened. It looked like a snowglobe that someone picked up and tossed around. When it settled, nothing was in it's right place. Including a floor to ceiling mirror that shattered everywhere.
It was an experience I will never forget.

Any advise about Magic Mountain?

AmySue
I haven't been in years, but even the last time we went, it seemed there were lots of gang members hanging out. Kind of scary. Hopefully that's not the case anymore.

At work now, with Bella--then going home to make dinner for my Mom who's visiting--then off to the GCH to meet the other Divas (Bella will stay home for that!) Tomorrow morning we are meeting Linda and family for the Sweet Sunday event/brunch. Then home for a quiet MOther's Day.
FUN!!! I can't wait to hear about it. popcorn::

Woohoo--I think we all did great!
I think so too!!! :cheer2:

Well I'm going to go sit in the back yard and play some cards with Marty and enjoy some Chili Queso with Fritos.
See you later!
YUM, enjoy your game and food. :)

And with that, I think I am finally caught up. ;)

I was out running errands all morning and I think so was most of Vegas. Seriously, everything was packed!!! Guess all those last minute Mother's Day shoppers. :confused3

Anyway, I am pooped and ready to get a cold drink and chill out for awhile. Just wanted to stop in and say hi.

Hope you are all having a good day.

:)

Thanx.....it's just a big circle that we somehow need to get into.....we'll figure it out.....I hope!!!

:lmao: The DIS girls go Goth!!!!!!! :sad2:

I told you guys that thing was scary.

I lived in Glendale at the time and worked in Sherman Oaks. :scared1: The store I worked at in the Sherman Oaks Galleria was destroyed. When it settled, nothing was in it's right place. Including a floor to ceiling mirror that shattered everywhere.

Oh wow, that sounds terrifying. Good thing the earthquake was like 1 in the morning and you weren't at work!

:lmao: The DIS girls go Goth!!!!!!! :sad2:

I'm real pale skinned too, the goth would work for me! :rotfl:

I think I love them!! They are both cute, so I could do either one.

I was planning on getting through graduation tomorrow then doing a couple 1/2 hand sketched 1/2 digitally animated ideas of my own! :cool1:

I would do almost anything for a cheeseburger right now. I'm SOOOOOOOOO hungry! I've been listing this stuff on ebay for so long that I forgot to eat dinner. HEY! I said ALMOST anything. If I really wanted to, I'd walk to get one, but that is the only length I'd go to in order to get one. I'd have to want it that badly. So I settled for reduced fat peanut butter on 100% whole grain wheat bread. :rolleyes1 Boring.

I just had a wonderful surprise phone call!!!!! (((((((Heather))))))) thanx for exchanging information with me......it made my day!!!!!!! It's nice to know that we're somewhat in the same boat & hopefully we can help each other out!!! :flower3:
