My story. On May 23rd my wife told me of a great deal Disney had (FREE DINING). We have never been to WDW but every year we go to the Little League World Series in Williamsport PA. I was taken aback. She wanted to mess with Daddy's vacation plans? I had to think of something quick. So I said our kids are too little for Disney. (DD3 DS4)

A fight insued. Her response was essentially, are you stupid it is Disney World. She knew I was up to no good. I told her I would look into it... They say a crack head is hooked after one hit off the crack pipe... That is me now only the crack pipe was http://disneyworld.disney.go.com.

Initially, I set up a couple of days at the park, had a rental car, and planned on going to the other joys orlando/florida has to offer. Sea World, The Beach, A Tampa Bay Rays game. It is now a 7 day base ticket and the rental car is cancelled, we will not be leaving the property.

I started investigating. First it was a few minutes here or there, my habit got a lot worse. Hours everyday between calling wdw-dine to see if there were any cancellations at OHANA, DISBOARDS, ALLEARS.NET, The Disney Moms Forum, etc, etc.

I bought a 1/2 inch binder to organize the plans. I have now filled up a 1.5inch binder. Gonna have to get a 2" (I might just skip over the middle man and go to a 3" one. So far there are pocketed dividers separating each of the days of the trip. Between the dividers are print outs of descriptions of all the attractions, maps, restaraunt menus, etc. In the back I have a print out of all there is to do at downtown disney, the specs on the dining plan and the descriptions of every table service and counter service restaraunt at WDW. As soon as our travel documents arrive the pockets will start filling up.

I jump on as soon as I get home, and as soon I wake up to see if anything new has happened.

I get 4 or 5 emails on my blackberry everyday telling me that a disney mom has answered one of my questions.

What started out as a half hearted "I will check in to it" is now an all out addicition. How did this happen to me? As you can see from my badge below, I am 72 days out. I can't keep this up... Can I?

Sure you can!!!! For me, planning is almost the best part of Disney!
And, just so you know......your wife has created a monster now. :scared1:This may be your first trip to Disney, but I can guarantee it won't be your last :rotfl2:

I hope you have the most magical vacation EVER!

Little League World Series? Randy Marsh, is this you? Just kidding! ;) So, does this mean that you'll miss the going to PA this summer?

Speaking of Little League, you must see South Park - The Losing Edge (It's TV-MA for profanity and the usual stuff South Park does, fyi)!

WDW is the best and no, you cannot plan enough for this experience. :thumbsup2

And this is just the beginning! Wait until you actually get there and see how much fun you have!!! :)

Your life will never be the same! You are addicted and you haven't even been yet! JUST WAIT......til you touch your feet onto Main Street for the first time and see the Castle. You have so many wonderful things to look foward to..riding the Monorail...Space Mountain, Wishes, Pirates of the Carribean. MICKEY! Soarin! Test Track! The Hoop Dee Doo Revue! Parades! Dining with the characters. UGH!! I am addicted too! We just got back three weeks ago and I am already having severe withdrawl.

LOL Welcome to the club. I made my first trip to the World last year at the age of 43 in Jan. 08. It was someplace I had always wanted to do and figured I could cross that off my list of "places I want to go", weeeeelllllllllll, I went again
Jan 09 and am working on a trip in Dec. I constantly read books about WDW and of course the DisBoards. But I'm not an addict, I can stop anytime I want..... no really, I can.. really!
;-)

Like this PP said... My boyfriend was one who was complaining in January when i talked about wanting to use my tax refund for a trip to WDW. All I heard was "why are you wasting your money...", "why don't we go somewhere we don't have to fly..." and "I am going to hate it...you will be the one having all the fun.". After a few weeks of planning he started getting excited about the trip. When we got there his jaw dropped. This was in March! Now here we are planning another trip for September, we are celebrating his birthday there. And he is talking about "next year's trip..." already. :rotfl: Welcome!!!

Thats me too. What am i going to when my trip is over. I really can't afford another one after this. Its just too far and too expensive. My life will be over.

Hi! My name is Carolyn and I share your addiction.

In fact, we drove down on the day Hurricane Charlie hit (obviously knowing it was coming), weathered the hurricane in Kissimmee and went to MK the next day. IT WAS AWESOME!!!

My first trip was in 1989 when I was 15. I have returned 3 additional times since then with the last being in 2004. We now have 2 trips planned within 7 months of each other. I CRAVE Disney and wish I could go every year.

You will love it....but the single thing that I guarantee you will make you salivate to go back......will be the look on your childrens faces. If you are this bad now.....I promise you.....that you will shed a tear (or 2....or...4).

Even when Im not watching my kids faces.....the sheer magic of certain things like the fireworks....makes me cry everytime. You just can't explain it in words to someone who hasn't been. I cannot wait for your post-trip report!!

My name is KJ and I became a Disneyholic at the age of, well let's just say I was well into my adulthood. But I too can stop anytime I want (yea right) :lmao:. I'm on these boards because I don't think I will be able to go to WDW again so I'm here feeding my addiction. Well, that and the coffee one I have in my hand.

Welcome to the club.

Hello my name is Wendy and I am a Disneyholic

I'm going to move this over to the Community Board Thanks Rich

Hi my name is Jim. I'm a friend of Mickey's. Ive been addicted ever since my first trip in 2005 at the age of 49. Been going back every year and staying on property at SOG.
For me it's the planning, I love it. I start planning my next trip even before my current trip is over.
Sept 3th to 9th at SOG :banana::banana::banana::banana:

Yup, I'm the planner in a family of Disney-holics. DD6 asks at least once a week when can we go back to Disney. I started it all in 1997, but the DIS really got me jacked up with our 2006 trip. We are 6 months away from trip #4 in 4 years...and we are planning on getting APs, with tentatively two trips planned in 2010. :scared1: Disney planning is one of my favorite hobbies...spending time every day for a year working on the perfect itinerary.:surfweb:

I actually posted on another thread you started, because I tend to hop on newbie threads...there is nothing quite like that FIRST trip to WDW. I love taking newbies with us...You can read about it, but until you experience it, there is really nothing like it. :hippie: Like any true addiction, you'll keep coming back...chasing that initial high. Soon you find yourself looking at the calendar, trying to figure out when you can get your next fix.

Yep, it's a disease. But I don't want to find the cure!:goodvibes

Worse yet, I am tentatively scheduling our second trip for March/April 2010 and we haven't even been the first time yet. But I have researched enough to know that despite my 1000 hours of scheduling we are going to be missing as much as we are seeing. Plus my 4 year old will be starting his school age years the following fall and this would be the last chance we will get to go "offseason" when the crowds are lower.
