Inspired by the "Can I cut in line..etc " thread

I think it's silly for people to get up in arms about someone stopping on the sidewalk to read their map, etc. Just go around!! What's the big deal??

Same thing with the kids too old for strollers or kids on a leash. I am too busy having fun with MY OWN kid to notice- or care- what other families are doing with their kids. It's their decision- why should I care?

I had no idea until tonight that the refillable mugs were only supposed to be filled at the guest's respective resort. I thought they could be filled anywhere within WDW.

To be honest though, I didn't find out about these mugs until I joined the Dis. ;) I'm not a soda drinker so I'd probably never get one anyway.

No resort pool hopping. Really, I'm paying big bucks to stay in the World, and I can't swim in any pool on property? That's like saying someone can't drive on a certain road, or can't eat in a particular restaurant just because they aren't staying at that resort...

I think the difference here is that when you eat at a particular restaurant at a resort, you are paying for that experience. If it's an expensive restaurant, everyone who eats there pays the expensive price. However, someone could pay for a value resort and then jump over to a deluxe resort to use the pool. They aren't paying for the nicer pool. They are paying for the value pool. It's not fair to those who ARE paying for the deluxe pool. I think that's why a lot of people get miffed.

I think the issue is that when you're walking on the sidewalk, you're not expecting someone in front of you to all of a sudden stop. I think all people are asking is that someone who wants to stop to look at a map should step to the side.

Yep, this. As clumsy as I tend to be, I'd crash into the back of a person who just stopped suddenly and they would be all angry with me for walking into them, even though they stopped short!

As someone who frequently stays at the Beach Club and LOVES SAB, if everyone staying on the property was able to use that pool, it would be a MADHOUSE! When you pay extra to stay in a certain resort, I think it's fair that you get the perks of it.

I am sorry but I just DON'T see how it can even be nice to pool hop? I mean what do you do ~ get on the bus will everything you might need for the day in your swimsuit? Do you ride the bus back wet or change in the bathroom?
:confused3

It doesn't even seem pleasurable to me. I like to be near my STUFF!

And do you bus to a park and THEN bus to another resort? Too much work in my book.

By this logic of you get what you pay for... should guests then be able to hop to equal resorts? i.e. value to value deluxe to deluxe?

Not sure who these questions/comments are aimed at, as its obvious in my post that I don't advocate pool hopping. It's not something to be largely upset about in my opinion, but obviously lots of people on here DO get upset. I was just providing an explanation as to why.

This was the only part directed towards your post.

The rest is just kinda a general rambling I guess.. LOL! I just don't see how fun it could be!

OT:
We discovered BCV and SAB in September and just LOVE both. I just think the layout of the kiddie pool area is fantastic.

Well that makes a little more sense! :lmao:

To answer your question, in my mind it's a little less morally wrong to do this, but i can see how the crowd levels could be altered if one value pool was better than the others. Not sure if this is really true as I've never stayed at a value. I have stayed at a deluxe most recently and it seems to me that most of the deluxe pools are very nice. It doesn't seem too realistic that everyone would be crowding around one particular pool b/c it's better. Just my observations though.

I guess the issue for me with pool hopping is when guests from value resorts go use the pool at deluxe resorts and use the disguise of they are looking at the resort. I guess if I'm paying $400 a night for a resort than I would hope that the pool would be used only by guests staying at that resort.

Not an actual rule, but the fuss over kids and strollers. I guess i just think that if it's not my child, I am not paying for it or pushing it, it is none of my business. I so however hate to be run over, then I tend to care :rotfl:

Yes, I will go find a table that will fit my entire family and claim it while DH takes the kids to get their food. And I will sit there with the stroller and wait for them to find me, then go get my own food, and join my family at the table I reserved that will allow all six of us to sit together. :)

Except now they have a CM standing there directing and not allowing "table saving"

At least some of them do.

It bugs me that they won't allow it. Another anti-family move by WDW IMHO.

But pro-all-Guest. Since your issue has nothing to do with 'too many people in line/antsy kids' (an extremely common objection), next time you go to Walt Disney World, try this experiment at ONE counter service meal: have the whole family get in line; order food; pay for food; obtain food; go get table. You WILL still find a table, easily.

You again.

We actually don't do CS. :thumbsup2

How do you know what my reasoning is? I do have two small children and it is a pain to all wait in line. Our solution is to eat table service. Yeah ~ I went ahead and made my OWN solution.

I still think this is not family friendly.

I agree! And if every member of every party was in line with their strollers...can you even imagine what the line would look like :scared1: Many of the counter service lines won't even accomodate a stroller. I think the big issue is people sitting at tables who are not eating there. They have no way of telling who is legitimately waiting for food, and those taking a break.

There is a BIG difference between Disney's rules and DisBoarders rules!!

And as for pool hopping...if you ask the lifeguards themselves THEY say it is allowed. I've never done it, due to the whole wet suit issue, but Disney allows it. I asked last fall when my friend and I were staying at different resorts, and neither resort had a problem with it. The concierge at her resort even suggested we go try out the pool at "another" resort.

Lastly- I agree with having my own fun. I am way too busy making magical memories with my own family. Why would I care what you are doing with yours?? Unless I just like creating drama everywhere I go- NOT!!
