Invitations

Thank you for the kind words ladies!! I did work really hard on my invitations, and my first few attempts were pretty horrible! But I do scrapbook and have always been a crafty person, so it seemed like the only way to get them done!

These are our save the dates, we haven't finished our invites yet.

These are so cool! Are they real KTTW cards??? How did you manage that?? Pretty cool....

Love all the creative ideas here!

Let me try this again.

Here are my postcard shower invitations:

Wedding invitations

Except for the logo on the wedding invitations, which was designed by someone on the DISigns board, the invitations were done by a seller on Etsy (dmarieP). She has been fantastic to work with and welcomes custom orders. For my colors, I just sent her a link to my matron of honor's dress and she did everything from there.

I figured we can't afford to get Cinderella's carriage for me to ride in, so all my wedding stuff is going to have the carriage!:bride:

LOVE these!

These are ours, I also made some little guide books as most of our guests don't have a clue about WDW, so I wanted to give them an idea of what's there.

Torsie - did you buy those portfolio style envelope/holders for your invites? Or did you make them?? I am a DIY'r and would like to have some of those envelopes for my invites!

I made passport invites when we were originally doing a DCL wedding in Castaway Cay. I bought cardstock and also used a thick printer paper for the inner pages. I ran everything through my printer and used a sewing machine for the binding (surprisingly easy!). I then made my own postcards for the response cards that had a collection of DCL Castaway Cay images and the postage was cheaper ;) But now we have to make new invites since the wedding has changed to a Wishes wedding in WDW (sister couldn't cruise because of pregnancy) - But everyone LOVED the passport invites! :thumbsup2

I bought them online, had to fold and stick them myself, which was a little time consuming, but my only option in the UK.

You are lucky to be in the states! Check out Cards & Pockets online. :)

I made my daughter's invitations by hand for her August wedding at the Swan. I am not very talented, but I enjoy scrapbooking, so I made a few different designs for her to choose from. I made a few fancy ones, a few with "bling", and a few with textured paper. In the end, she chose the simplest design, which was perfect for her. A few(hundred) trips to Michaels was all it took to experiment with different cardstock colors and weight. I made the "pocket" myself and printed everything on my trusty 5-year-old HP photosmart. I played around with Word fonts until I found what I wanted, and printed everything in Publisher. If I do not count all the failed attempts, each invitation cost about $2.00 to make. If I include all the experimental paper, ink and tools(like 2 $15 hole punches), then I spent $5.00 per invitation. Luckily, we only needed 40 invitations! Postage was $.85 for 30, and 10 invitations were hand-delivered in Holland, taken home by the groom. The last picture also shows the menus I made for the reception---sorry.

All the cards are going to be staggered together on the right side of the pocket fold.
