Well I knew I shouldn`t have packed the majority of the stuff a week ago as now I`m going to take it all out to make sure its there!
DH has found a wallet that attaches to his belt, so thats one less worry for Barcelona.
A few jobs still to do but we are getting there. Good news is I`ve finished work for 4 weeks, bad news, as I`m self employed, no income for me!

Right now I'm listening to my "cruising" playlist on iTunes while I get stuff done. Here are some of the songs:

Sweet Escape -Gwen Stephani
Two Tickets to Paradise -Eddie Money
September -Earth Wind & Fire
Don't Stop Me Now -Queen
Come Sail Away -Styx
Sail On -The Commodores
Over The Rainbow -Glee Cast Version
Under the Boardwalk -The Drifters
Slow Ride -Foghat
Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffett

Life is good!!!!! I'm soooo happy.

No problemo :rotfl:

Funny! :lmao::lmao:

congrats!!!!

.

Gracias Melodie! :goodvibes

Hey there!

It's been crazy here! I went to lunch with my neighbor yesterday then went to Verizon (to get my new DROID phone activated and SIM card numbers downloaded) and the BMV to get my new driver's license. When I got home, my mom and grandmother were here waiting for me. So that kept me off the boards yesterday.

Sadly, I got hardly any sleep last night. I was tired at 6:00 pm, but mom and grandma were still here. I got to bed just before 9, then couldn't sleep. GRRRR... I still set the alarm for 4:30 am thinking I could get to bed easily by 7:00pm tonight. Guess what? I'm getting MORE unexpected company shortly! She's staying the night, too. *sigh*

Sooo......let's hope this feeling of a cold coming on doesn't become reality with all this lack of sleep. I'm drinking anise tea like there's no tomorrow trying to keep the throat from being sore!

Tomorrow I'm off to head north to celebrate my mom's birthday (it's 9/20 while we're gone), then stay with my grand mother for the night. So to everyone leaving in the next 48 hours, SAFE TRAVELS TO YA, and I very much look forward to seeing you in one week!!!!

Oh yes...one more thing. I know I need to update Part 4 of 4 of the flight list and Part 2 of 2 of the hotel list. I'll do my best to squeeze that in tonight.

Just back from getting food for the kids incase one of the storms decides to become a hurricane and head for the coast. If there is nothing, then I wont need food for a while!! :rotfl:

Noel.....did we decide on a time and place to meet for the Daniel Taxi Tour or did I miss it?

Gotta clean hose so I can try to finish packing.....So excited:banana:

I too tell everyone I do not want any bad news. I have said no dying is allowed while we are vacation. I agree. My ex sister in law called while i had her kids on vacation to tell me they were getting a divorce. This news cost us Thousands because we new she was ruining the kids vacation memories. Its funny tho they remember the vacation but not when their parents split up.

Princess Di died while we had our honeymoon. We could not figure out why everyone in the UK pavilion was so somber till we turned on CNN.
Small world we were at wdw when it happened also.

After doing a weekly countdown for what seems like forever, it gives me great pleasure ( tinged with a teeny bit of sadness for some reason ) to present to my wonderful DIS friends ..... our last ever weekly countdown ...

WE HAVE ONLY 1 WEEK TO GO UNTIL WE BOARD THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!!!!

:woohoo::yay::dance3::woohoo::yay::dance3::woohoo:

Drives me nuts when i'm trying to have a conversation with my neice and all i get is K to a question or a comment.

My grandma died while we were at WDW. My mom called us on our cell phone. Although it was expected, my sons (3 and 5) were wondering why I was crying in the middle of the Magic Kingdom. They needed to get in touch with us though because they wanted to plan the funeral for once we got home and wanted to make sure we could make it to the funeral since it would be 3 hours away. Also, they made sure the funeral was not held on our wedding anniversary. I'm thinking, maybe if someone dies when we are on the cruise, that I don't want them to tell me. It won't change the fact and it would only serve to spoil the remainder of the cruise. Is there a tactful way to let the parental units know this? I think you did the right thing, Noel.

I remember our first cruise, you couldn't get much on TV. There was Hurricane Wilma destroying Mexico and the Western Carribean. We were on the Eastern itinerary. We heard about Wilma 2 days after it became news. It was very nice being very disconnected. Now, you can get CNN in your stateroom. Just makes it harder to really disconnect and relax.

I do a lot of the packing but DH helps. DH does 99% of the unpacking, though!!
Were you on the DVC member cruise? We were when Wilma came thru.

So much to do today. Laundry done now i have to repack everything. :scared1:

This evening I am devoting to finishing off my FE gifts and scrapbooking gifts.
I hope everyone has low expectations :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Tomorrow I need to make a pirate skirt and sort out magnets ready for printing and print off the scavenger hunt sheets.

On top of this I am packing bits and pieces as I go along.

Getting very excited and listening to Disney music

Still busy busy busy Sarah. Though I guess you have a few more days than I do. I'm really feeling all knotted inside now.

I think just stating that once you get on the ship, there is no way you can just jump off and come home. Yes you want to know everything is okay, but what can you do out in the Atlantic Ocean???

I told hubby and my kids that I have waited two years for this and to please just wait to tell me when I get home. I want to have two weeks of blessed peace. Hit me with it when I get home and then I can grieve properly.

I know that hubby's mother is really not doing good but I think she will be fine. She keeps falling and his dad is considering putting her in an assisted care facility.

I just want to worry about making it to everything we have planned and having a good time. :goodvibes

I'm only up to page 185. Not that it's going to change anything, but for the people on the ship this week, who is the CD? Please please please tell me it's not Peter. :scared1:

Wow!!! A busy evening planned, Sarah!!! :worship:

I'm being uber lazy.

I've taken the day off and am planning on a relatively early night - we didn't go to bed till 2am and got up at 9am... :faint:

TOMORROW is THE day!!! Ironing and packing. Packing and ironing. That sort of thing... ;)

Not to mention the window displays.:rolleyes1

Do you mean our Red light disrict?

I like Amsterdam a lot it's different but a great town. You can do everything there and nothing is strange.

Woody i'm glad you did like Amsterdam.

When you see a red hair girl on a fiets (Bicycle) on CC it's that girl from Holland.

I have been meaning to mention that Heather (GOS) has been in my thoughts this past week. I don't know if she's felt it easier to no longer lurk, but I hope she feels the DIS love knowing we are still thinking about her and Rick. :grouphug:

Bev

I heard that Brent is back on the ship.

We had a weekend there a few years ago and loved it. So much to see and do, and we walked miles and miles.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: We ended up in that area by mistake.(Honest, it was me with the map not John) Couldn't believe my eyes, but I felt so uncomfortable and not really safe so we shot out as quickly as we could.

Maybe that's the safest place in Amsterdam.

So I have a choice for Saturday.
I can go to work and finish my August financials, :surfweb:

or I can iron on my transfers,
put labels on my fish extender gifts,
pack,
put aside my 3 work outfits and mentionables,
make out a list of everything I'm going to pack in my 2 large bags,
go to the DMV and get my picture taken for my driver's license that expires next week,
mail off all of my birthday cards for my September birthdays (a bunch!),
setup my bills to be paid for the rest of the month,
reschedule my stone massage,
make a spreadsheet of all of my activities I have scheduled. (This is beginning to look a lot like Mousefest, it is so activity intense. :)
assign an outfit for each activity,
find my golden ears,
find my jewelry,
make up my scrapbook pages for the door and figure out how I'm going to attach the pens,
buy another battery for my camera,
take my friend with stage 4 breast cancer, spine and brain cancer for a Rita's ice.

I'm really glad I put this into words cause this is a no-brainer!:thumbsup2

Steffy - no brainer - do the fun stuff!!! I always leave a dry erase in my fish extender if that helps with trying to find a way to attach it to something.

I just cannot catch up with all of you.

Paula - hang in there - pretty soon you will be with all of us and out of New Zealand.

So glad Dennis does not wear glasses anymore and excited to hear that MagicMe's friend came out of surgery.

I know I had a lot more to say, but we are going into Orlando tonight for dinner to meet friends from our '07 TA cruise. We haven't seen them in 3 years and they leave tomorrow on the DVC Member cruise. I am sure all your ears will be burning tonight as I chat away.

I remember someone saying something about kids dropping by her cabin to get a birthday treat from her daughter or son. I need to mark that on my list and I cannot remember. I feel, sometimes, I am spinning out of control.

Also, I know this was mentioned before, can you or can you not use Skype on the ship. I think somebody say no, you cannot use Skype.

I am writing my husband a little note to read every day and I am at Day 7 and running out of things to say! Ahhh! Love you is the standard. I don't want to make him too jealous.

Also, for those of you reading Erik's blog, they are having problems with the pictures, Disney does not allow you to "blog" while you are on the ship. But I wanted to tell the people who are staying at a Disney named hotel or went through Disney to get the hotel, Jason and Erik said that they check you into the ship at the hotel and you can walk on the ship once you get to the port so no paperwork at the port or waiting with your usual number. Now that is pretty exciting.:cool1:

ONE MORE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my father passed away, my sister Cheryl and her family had planned a vacation to Costa Rica. Being super frugal, she had absolutely no trip insurance on the trip. We knew that my father who was just as frugal would have wanted them to go not only for the lost money but would not have wanted the kids to associate Costa Rica with the death of my father. They didn't even tell the kids until after the trip was over. Our plan was to delay the funeral until they came home a week later which worked well for everyone.

My suggestion is to talk openly and frankly to your parents about how you feel unless you think they would not be receptive. I would explain that there would be no way you could fly home from the ship if there were a death in the family and that you would not want to associate the children's memory of a wonderful cruise with such sadness. As a grandparent, if my kids pull the grandkids card, it usually works.

Just my thoughts....
Like the grandparent card idea.

Small world we were at wdw when it happened also.

We were on the 10/15/05 to 10/22/05 Magic. I don't know if it was a DVC member cruise, as we are not members.

, The day she died we were travelling from englad up north, the roads were nice and quiet:thumbsup2

The day Princess Diana died we were at a football game in a huge stadium. When we heard what happened from someone next to us, my husband said, "She couldn't have died, she probably did something else and by the time it went around the entire stadium, they are telling us she died." You know, like the game you used to play as kids. Unfortunately, we were wrong and up till 3 Am watching the news.

The birthday girl is Bella, Hayley's (LittleDisneyLovers) daughter. I know this will happen on September 19th, but I can't remember the time.
