Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT Information & Questions

Just out of curiousity, what were your requests? We will be there this Sat. Do you have any advice or tips for us? Never been there but very excited!

Sorry missed this one!!

We had requested Mighty Ducks, and ground floor, then a play yard for the little guy. Got Love Bug top Floor and had to call for the play yard, but we took it all in stride! It was a great trip, and honestly it was a pain to carry DS up the steps at the end of the day, but that was the only inconvince, we had parking right on our side of the building, so out our corner room (which was awesome!) down the steps and right into the car.

Plus it was a very short walk to the food court and pool, just had to walk past the Fantasia buildings and there we were!

We have been to both Music and Movies now, and both were very nice, very similar and the kids have picked Movies as a favorite just due to Toy Story

I just want to comment on PP about the buses.... I just got back from here last week and I only had a shared bus twice I think and it was because I came back midday (2ish).... When going to the parks in the morning I never shared and also when I came back in the evening (not park closing, most time several hours before closing) we never shared a bus with the other all stars either. I found them to really well on schedule and rarely waited more than 5-10 minutes (or less!) for a bus. I never saw lines of people standing there waiting either so they had to have stayed pretty regular or crowds would have gotten backed up.

Also they are definitely refurbing building 8 currently.

Thanks for the refurb update! Staying the last week of Oct. with a Toy Story request- here is to hoping we get a new room:)

Does this mean there are no elevators at ASMo???

We have never stayed Value and will be staying at ASMo next month. I have an old knee injury (cracked kneecap) that makes it really hard to walk up stairs - I can walk on flat surfaces all day long, but more than one flight of stairs at a time and my knee decides it's done! We are booked Preferred with a request for Dalmations or Fantasia. If I request a 1st floor room, are the odds good that we'd get one??? Otherwise, we may have to change our ressie to another resort. :sad1:

Sorry foe confusion. We took the stairs because we were closer to them then the elevators. I could have walked to them, but it probaly would have taken longer, and well I can use the excersize!!

We've stayed at ASMo 3 times (at different times of the year) and we were never on a shared bus.

Thinking of changing to ASMo to save $$$. We stayed there in 2005 and we were in Fantasia and loved the location. Is Toy Story section far from the pool, bus, food court. I know the little guy loves Woody but for me it is all about location. We will definitely do preferred room.

Ckecking In on Sunday :banana::banana:

Just a quick question - how much are the washer and dryer in the laundry room? Earlier posts say $2 each, but those are a few years old now.

Thanks!!

It is a little bit a ways from the pool

We just got back from our first Disney trip and stayed at the movie resort - originally we had chosen the Caribbean but it was full so my 10yr old chose the movie resort. Before going I was a bit apprehensive as I had read the odd negative comment but I have to say, considering it is a value resort, I have no complaints about our stay!

The rooms were basic but comfortable - afterall, we were only sleeping there so didn't need much. I was most weary about the food court - I was imagining how food courts are at shopping malls - but the food was fresh and plentiful. The range of snacks like pastries etc was awesome.

Honestly, no complaints. I would book a preferred room to be near the food court etc, we were in the Toy Story section. I think out of all the resorts, this was amazing for the children because of the GIANT characters - you really did feel like you were at Disney.

We are already planning our trip for next year and will be booking the Movie Resort again. Yeah, we could do a more expensive resort but why when this was good enough - means we have more spending money :thumbsup2

@GrammyJudy - we stayed at Toy Story and it is the other side of the pool so really the same distance as Dalmations :)

You'll be fine! We took my parents and my Mom is in a mobility chair at all times - we booked preferred but were still on the first floor and it was never a problem for her :)

We stayed at All Star Movies in 2007 in a Preferred Room, I don't remember if their was a hair dryer in the room or not? Can anyone who has been there recently tell me if this is one in the room. TIA
